Casting call - Dr. Pepper commercial

Okay, I'm not a very frequent TV ad watcher, but the (fairly) recent series of "trust me... I'm a doctor" ads from Dr. Pepper have been, in my view, among the rare series that I find entertaining.

A recap with my grades so far (I think):

Dr. J: B+
Kelsey Grammer: C
Dr. Dre: A
Gene Simmons: A

So, this begs the obvious question... if you're running the campaign, who else do you try to sign up to continue the series?

I'll get the obvious out of the way, and say that an ad with Hugh Laurie talking about traditional uses of vanillas, spices, herbs and sugars (making reference to the flavor combination in Dr. Pepper) to treat various autoimmune diseases and polyplastic anemia and the like would be perfect.

Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle could reprise their ER roles for one (or even Clooney, but he may be too famous in other roles for people to remember his ER turn).

Bob Newhart and Alan Alda might have been good thirty years ago. Joyce Brothers? Bill Cosby? Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Detroit?

NPH probably would be pretty good.

Doogie Howser might be, but there is always Dr. Horrible (as stupid as I thought it was, it made a splash with nerds).

Doc Gooden and Doc Holliday (has Val Kilmer fallen on hard enough times yet?) were the two that jumped into my mind first.

Darrell "Dr. Dunkenstein" Griffith is another, but I'm not sure he is famous enough. Plus, they already did a basketball player.

How about the Thompson Twins?

I think Dr. Evil is a no brainer when you think of the demographics that they are probably hoping to reach with these ads.

I like the idea of the 7 dwarves, there's a lot of directions you could go with that one.

Hugh Laurie is Dr. Gregory House on Fox's House (one of the best shows on TV.)

Dr. Drew and Dr. Ruth were my immediate 2nd and 3rd choices. I think Doogie would work well also.

He's been replaced in the fake doctor world by Omar Epps.
