I know this is a real NFL thread, but I wonder if JG would patch FOF in such an event. And if so, would there still be an option for the current schedule.* I'm not sure I'd want established MP leagues to switch.

* though if there was an option, it might also be nice to have a 14-game format too...

So what was the difference between the Bears guy there and Calvin Johnson a couple weeks ago? Neither guy ended up "maintaining control".

Terrible clock management there are the end of the half from the Packers. WTF was Rodgers thinking running around behind the line of scrimmage taking 10 seconds off the clock.

He's certainly earned his check tonight.

Now. Mr. Cutler. Kindly earn your check and take em downfield. The Packers have been gifting you penalties all night, DO SOMETHING.

More chance of injuries, particularly to players you want to watch. Would you like it if your team was trying to make the playoffs with second-stringers and a third-string QB?

For a few reasons

One thing that makes the NFL special is there are only 16 games, they all matter.

Injury. I love football but want to see the best players.

Fear of what is now week 17 turning into the last 3 weeks. There are going to be some races sewn up after 15 weeks, so teams will rest guys the last 3 weeks and will make for not only horrible football bu horrible screw jobs.

Exactly. I'd rather watch preseason football before the season rather then at the end...

Also, I really like preseason games. I love the draft and I love watching the drafted guys play.

The 18 game schedule is an MLB-like short-sighted move. I think the next step is 16 playoff teams, and when that happens, there's really no reason to pay attention to the NFL until the playoffs.

I guess I just see that as a small price to pay to get rid of two pre-season games and replace them with two regular season games.

Gruden just said that Green Bay is stupid for kicking to Hester about an hour after Tirico ripped him for being nothing more than an average returner for two years.

more injuries. distortion of statistical records even further, games being less important...i dunno.

i think there will be a lot more injuries to marquee players.

I'm sure he'll say how he thought his special teams were playing very well, and he was sure we needed a TD there.

By the way. Horseshit roughing call there.

GB'd be up by 30 were it not for the penalties. Bears defense hasn't been able to stop them at all.

All I know is that I'd rather watch 2 additional games that actually mean something as opposed to watching meaningless preseason games.

And of course I suggest you pay the players double-time for the additional two games. Everyone wins.

That was actually a little funny. The defender trying to get up and celebrate after picking up the fumble and the Packer was holding on to his foot for dear life like he thought the play was still going on.

So is Cutler always doing that little jump-throw off his back foot?

I frankly think he is terrified to plant his back foot, given the "line" protecting him.
