Groundhog, that's a no go on the extension buddy. I think one full weekend is enough for a single week of games, two full weekends might be messing with other peoples schedules. We advanced early Saturday morning, which means there was all day Saturday and all day Sunday to get your game in. We have a lot of H2H games coming up in the next couple weeks.

A good rule of thumb for everyone here. Look at who you're playing next week. If it's a H2H game, try to schedule in your game before that week comes, that way if the only day you two have available is the day after (or evening of) the advance, you wont be in this kind of situation.

Frankly, I don't know what the rush is, and TBH I think your tone and your stance on this is kind of douchey man. The league doesn't exist for you to set deadlines and summarily decide not to give extensions...the league exists so that we can all enjoy the game and have fun playing each other. If every so often it takes an extra little bit of time, well then so what? What's the big deal? What's the frigging hurry? It might take us an extra few days to make it through the season? So what??

I mean...does anybody else really mind if we take some extra time and don't advance? Do other people have other things to do?? I don't know about everyone else but hell...I have other PS3 games that I can play, let alone other non-PS3 things to do with my time.

Whatever - I get that you're the commish, and that that can be a thankless job and all, and your goal is to keep things moving forward, but FFS...what's the big deal.

If you wanna be all power-trippy and strip me of my team for being irritated and flying off the handle...frankly...go ahead. I'll just spend more time doing other things.

First and foremost, I'd like to say that I am not a fan of public drama when it comes to organized online leagues. This is not how I wanted to settle this, but now my hand has been forced.

Extending deadlines is a slippery slope, IMO. If I extend this deadline to Sunday, which is what GH is asking for, that's a nine day week. Nearly every week I've had to email at least one person to remind them that, "hey, the FACC...remember? We advance tomorrow." I do this so that people can play their games. I don't like advancing without everyone being ready, and I've already bumped the deadline so that XYZ could get in his recruiting. I'd like to help create a habit of everyone checking in and playing their games so when NCAA '12 hits the shelves, we aren't in the off-season after our second year, but it seems to me that you not only don't want that, but you rather resent me for even thinking it. Yes I am the commish, and as the commish I have to make decisions that I feel are best for the league moving forward. The most important thing is to have fun, but I think everybody would agree with me that playing in an online dynasty that doesn't even make it to year three isn't exactly ideal. That would render the recruiting rather useless, don't you think? Anyways, that's my line of thinking, and if everyone disagrees and thinks five days is too short for a deadline (which by the by, we all agreed upon before the league started), then lets move it to seven, or just eliminate deadlines altogether. If you (and everyone else) think I'm a cold-hearted joke of a commish that doesn't really care about everyone having fun, then I'm willing to transfer my duties over to someone else and step down.

That being said, I would also like to mention now that I'm going to be out of town from Saturday morning until the Sunday after X-mas. So, because it makes sense, I'm bumping the deadline for you and GH to get in your game to Friday evening at midnight EST(ish). That means this week will be a seven day week, and next week will be a nine day week.

You and i were having issues on playing our game anyway so it suits me fine to wait. We only have 5 or 6 of us and we just started the first season. We need to figure out each other's schedule and be a little lax with setting up some H2H games.

I will be available Est 1030 tonite, 930 tomorow, and 10ish saturday evening. I could also play early my time but i think that is like 2 am for you.

I was really nervous going into this one after we had so much trouble against Clemson our last time out. VT looked to have a very potent passing attack as well as two very, very good RBs. So, it was going to be a test for our defense to see if they could keep us close enough to have a shot.

Well, looks like I was scared for absolutely no reason because we f'ing destroyed them on both sides of the ball. Nesbitt, and later Washington, ran all over them including 2 very long scores. In total, we had 4 rushing TDs and hardly broke a sweat. The other TD came of a very dandy pick-6 where the ball initially bounced of the head of one of our defenders and then ended up in the hands of one of our linemen...great little highlight.

35-0 and we subbed in the 2nd unit very early in the 2nd half so this could've gotten really, really ugly. Heck, we even stopped running the option after Washington busted one for 90 yards on his first play of the game.

Time to do some recruiting!!

I will admit the class is looking very interesting. I was expecting to have to settle for some 2 star guys but i still have 4 4 star guys and 10 or so 3 stars with us in the top 3.

McCormick and Jude were my top two guys so i am happy to land them.

I passed on it too until my buddy said he wanted us to race.

I like it now as the online play is so much better.

I am only a few licenses in but i think there are too limited amount of cars out there right now. I got it through a free trial of gamefly and i am glad i did not buy it but had a blast last night. I do feel right now it is a little bit limited for me.

I always go back to NCAA it seems as the old regular.


I have Black Ops i will probably be on playing tonite and tomorow and i have not played any online shooters since the first Halo.

I'm not sure what you mean? Are you saying that you have to pay "real" money to unlock cars? Or do you mean that you hate having to unlock cars by winning races and going through the licensing stages?

I felt there were just alot of cars that were unique. I wanted to try to find some newer cars(last 3 years) and there was no pontiac GTO, there was no SRT-4 Caliber or Neon, and i could not find any mid 80s muscle cars.(stang, camaro, trans am)

I have not gotten that far in the game but they have an online site were people car sell and buy other peeps cars which is cool.

I even looked for a minivan lol and could not find one to load up.

I have not played shooters in a good 5 years and i feel old. I will be that guy everyone will be laughing at tonite as i know i am going to play like total shit lol.

I do agree that if you want to just have a fun race or two then things are somewhat limited...in past versions, at least. But I think for somebody who wants to sit down and spend some time really trying to figure out how to get the most out of a '91 Civic then that's when you'll appreciate having to "earn" those cars.

I am the guy that downloads a ton of demos but then never gets a game or just deletes the demo because it gets stale.

I remember the old GT i loved messing with particular cars but i highly doubt i would pay for it nowadays.

Bought my PS2 when we were about to have our first kid 5 years ago for something to do while I was up late with a newborn and only bought GT4 and Madden. My next purchase was NCAA '09. Played the crap out of all three.

When I finally splurged this summer for my PS3 I bought MLB: The Show right away and played that for a little while and then finally bought NCAA about a month ago. The only other game I've been itching for is GT5 because I really enjoyed the previous version...so, we'll see if Santa (me...lol) feels the need to scratch that itch.

I'm returning from San Diego today by car, and will probably be home very late in the evening. I'll drop in here to check responses when I get home to see if I should advance or wait. This game week consisted of nine days, which I think is fair considering the time of year. If you have not played your game, please post in this thread an estimate of when you think you'll be able to get it in. Groundhog has been AWOL for 11 days, and not just from the FACC. He hasn't posted once in all of FOFC which leads me to believe he's on some sort of extended vacation. I'm happy for anyone who goes on vacation, but I would really appreciate it if you gave us a heads up before leaving.

I'd like to make an official rule in regards to AWOL owners. If anyone disagrees, or thinks it should be tweaked in some way, please let me know.

***From now on, if someone completely disappears without giving any notice whatsoever, their team will be set to autopilot on day 10. You will have the right to re-claim your team once you return, but it's unfair to your opponent to just go fully AWOL.

Yeah i could not stop your passing game i had 9 men in coverage and he was still lighting me up. I seriously think one of your wrs had 100 yards before the half.

If you look at the stats i think we had 13 dropped passes and we had to bench our 3rd string QB for our 4th stringer in order to complete our first pass.

It was not pretty. My running back had 100 yards on like 9 carries but we were down and 3 of those runs were for 80 yards.
