Wow, the AFC North looking brutal in initial power rankings. All four teams in the top ten. Yikes!

Nice to see C Luther Hopper go +8/+6 to 55/73. At least 1st round WR Ron Wynn went 0/+3 to a middling 17/42. He better creep some more or that will have been a bust pick.

Not nice to see 4th year LG Sammie Simmons go -11/-11 from servicable 44/44 to 33/33. SIgh.

I was a little nervous about Wendell Kelly since his bars just showed nothing, but I was pretty sure his combines were legit.. good to see that seems to be paying off.

Is that as simple as it seems, or is there more to the story there, like a position switch or something?

No position switch. Huge bars, mediocre combines (average Solecismic, great 40 time, low bench, average agility, average broad jump, good position drill), 75 volatility, 18% developed. Very Overrated by my scout, and the combines definitely don't match the bars, so that looks like a mix of "overrated bars" + "volatility stick of death".

FOF has them tied for 8th, too, actually.

As far as in my ratings, there's not much mystery there. Here are the highlights of why, and how it works.

1. At this juncture, it's based 100% on perceived roster strength--so no modification for last year's 2-14 record.
2. According to my scout, you have the 10th highest rated QB in the league.
3. With WRs rated 66/66 and 51/51, you have one of the top duos in the league. (FOF has you tied for 7th.)
4. QB-WR1-WR2 are the two most important positions in my roster strength ratings. Being top 10 in both of those pretty guarantees a spot in my top 10 overall.
5. You have at worst average talent at every position except for kicker. According to my scout, you really only have to start one player rated below 45/45 at any position on either side of the ball. (FOF again agrees here. You are no worse than middle-of-the-pack roster strength at any position.)
6. You have six starters at non QB-WR-WR positions rated 60 or above, and another who is 48/75.

So in short, based purely on a look at your roster, I'd say you should be in the top 25% of passing teams this year, competent everywhere else, and one of the better teams on the d-line and o-line, too.

That's, uh, pretty good.

damn this team makes me sad. I just dont know what else i could do being 65 million over the cap. cutting great, overpaid players sucks. this will no doubt be the worst mp team ever.

I don't know about you guys but I feel for TheMeat. That first QB taken ended up looking like Alex Smith then Manning. Who knows, he might actually play a lot better then what his bars show but damn....tough luck on that one.

So much for flying below the radar....

My goal was to try to get to .500 this year and then (Hopefully) add another solid draft next season and compete for a playoff spot.

Yeah - very, very happy about how that turned out. I also see that the QB I drafted early last year seems to be climbing up, so the loss of Herndon may not hurt so much.

We got a real nice boost out of some key spots in TC, most of all at QB where our perceived starter went +6/+1 and is still showing some green at 47/47 according to the scout.

It'll be nice if we finally get to have a QB that can win games for us rather than just managing them.

Tough volatility hit on Billy Joe Farrell, he looked promising and had the combines to be our top guy, but instead he becomes my first bona-fide "you know it for sure" bust. Never like wasting picks.

Other than him though, I'll take the class we got. Should have 5 heavy contributors out of the rookies in camp.

Nice surprise with the TE there, I was thinking I was going to have issues at that position so he helps a lot. The SS was not much of a surprise at all, high volatility + real short + bars not matching combine == pretty certain crapout. At the point I took him though, I couldn't pass up his possibility of sticking.

Ya I got effed in the A, haha. I'm not totally surprised. As QS pointed out he had several question marks I didn't expect him to keep the 75 but I really did not expect a complete bust. My initial plan to move up to #5 was that i expected someone else to take the qb and i would scoop up some OT or LB talent but when lagrange slid i couldn't help myself. And my scout had him as very underrated, that bastard is fired. Hopefully my 2nd round G Hardy holds on to some kind of 60+ rating or I've been set back a couple seasons, having traded next years 2nd rounder to move up in the first.

I wish I had someone better to throw at them, but I think I can get something out of my 2nd year guy. I'm gonna have to sit down and see what I can come up with.
