Ha ha, you had to pick the Kid. Glad "teeth remaining" and "gum to tooth smile ratio" aren't categories in this league.

Obviously, I can only edit my own posts, but I can start a new thread so we have a thread with a first post with draft results if needed.

Let's just keep going here, ill try and update nightly who was picked to avoid duplicates

1.3 Nik Backstrom, C, Capitals.

Should be a +/- and assist machine by default.

I expected to have to choose between backstrom and stamkos.

Also interesting note, autocorrect tried to change to ' Genome Napkin '

We should put the draft order and list of drafted players in the first post

Order in first post. I only have phone access from work, I won't be able to update each pick but will try to update nightly

I recommend PMing the person who goes after you once you have made your pick.

If someone can access the league during the day it might make sense to transfer commish powers to them so they can log in and assign players as we go along so that we have an easy reference to which players are already gone.

Well this died a pretty quick death... we need to do 2+ rounds per day or we're not going to be done in time.

It was bad timing today to get it going in the morning when we did, without notice. Danny's the one who has been up, and I can tell you from playing WW with him that he's usually not around at all during the day, but a lot more at night. He probably doesn't know this is going yet and, assuming he was PM'd, probably hasn't even checked into the board. He'll probably be around in an hour or two, realize what's up and make a pick.

Obviously, anyone who will have trouble being around for any long stretches will need to submit a list to one of the other owners or to SR so we can get things rolling.

Can everyone make sure they are signed into Yahoo as well.

This way I can start adding picks each night to Yahoo, making viewing the players lists alot easier

SR, I'll be around for most of the day today if you want to transfer commish powers to me so I can update the Yahoo players list.

1.6 Nicklas Backstrom, C, WSH

Try it now. One thing you need to do, though, is fix the draft order on Yahoo so it follows the order here. I'm not sure I know how to do that so I should probably hold off on using the commish powers to assign drafted players until the order is fixed.

I should have thought to do this last night and forgot. Sorry about that. Yahoo fantasy sites are blocked at my work, so I won't be able to register my team until later tonight.

Sami probably not worthwhile at this point, we have 10 of 12 signed in. So I can't update draft order yet anyway.

But next week will definitely take you up on offer

Also if your team name isn't obvious can you list it in your pick for round. 1 so I get rosters straight. Thanks fellas

I picked Malkin 3rd overall last year, and he had a very underwhelming season. Backstrom finished last year ranked either 3rd or 4th in Yahoo rankings [depending on which one you look at]. He'll put up monster O numbers with a much healthier +/- rating than Malkin, he's still just a pup and will only improve, and he plays with AO.

Just to give a little perspective on my reasoning.

I think we need to just suck it up and do a live draft sometime next week. If someone can't make it just do a list.

I hate to be a downer, but the forum draft isn't working.

I'll check with Doug to see if maybe he's back in for a live draft early this coming week.

Does anyone have a date/time that does not work right now?

Wow, glad Tuesday works, because that's pretty much the only time for me as well. I can be home by about 6 p.m. PDT. It's okay if it starts before that; I can do a list for the early rounds. But hopefully it can start that late and I can make all my picks live.

I know us West Coasters are a pain in the arse for you guys on the East Coast.

I'm not going to be able to make it Tuesday night, so I'm just going to go ahead and drop out as well. I probably won't be able to put in as much time as I'd like, so this works out fine for me. Good luck guys!
