Nights

Still waiting on:

question. If I pass once in the long jump and once in the shot put, does that mean that I get an extra high jump? Or do both passes need to be in the same event?

EVENT 2 - LONG JUMP - Second Attempt

Pflaggstettler - he sprints down the runway, hits the board and launches himself into the pit. He lands right about the same spot as his last attempt. The final measurement puts him at 24' 7" - 4" short of jump 1.

Lesgettham - toe is over the jump board - foul.

Yellope - his second jump is in about the same spot as his first. The tape is pulled and he actually gained a couple inches. 24' 4"

Palmer - coming off a foul, Palmer was obviously going to make sure to get a score. The conservative attempt resulted in a 22' 3" distance. (note: that appears to be as good as he can do in the conservative column)

Mighty - also coming off a foul, Might elects to roll the dice and go for a decent jump, and it pays off 24' 6".

Gonzalez - he had a decent first jump, the second one appears to be better at take off, and in fact it is - almost exactly a foot better. 24' 3".

Mello - had a poor first jump, and the second one won't improve anything, because he fouls.

Babson - coming off a foul, Babson needs to get a good score, he runs down the track, hits the board, jumps in the air, and SCREAMS IN PAIN. He lands in a heap in the sand. After a few moments to gather himself, he limps out of the pit and heads to the training room with his hand on his right hamstring. To make matters worse the white foul flag is raised.

Kappe - definately has better form on his second attempt - he reaches 25' 2".

Ivanov - needs to get a good jump in after a foul on jump 1. He jumps a little in front of the board to assure he doesn't foul, but he still gets a 23' 11" distance.

Eckberg - 22' 11" - shorter than jump 1 by about a foot.

Gunner - Foul

Elli - Foul - that makes 2 for Elli - 1 jump left to record a score.

Cat - Fouls so he still stuck with a 19' 3" effort

Nights - the jump is obviously better from the start - he sails past the 22' mark, where is initial jump measured and he comes down 25' 6".

Ivonov is happy with the jump, but believes he can do better.

He will go normal for his final jump.

EVENT 2 - LONG JUMP - Third Attempt

Pflaggstettler - fouls on the 3rd attempt

Lesgettham - sitting on a poor distance of 21' 7" - Darius needs a good 3rd attempt. His approach and take off look good and the result is clearly better than 21'. The final measurement is 25' 4". That's a clutch attempt - moving him from the bottom of the event standings to the top section.

Yellope - foul

Palmer
- works hard on teh 3rd attempt, but he can't better a pretty poor 22' 3" effort. 3rd jump = 21' 6"

Mighty - Passes (1 passed attempt in shot putt earns an extra high jump attempt without fatigue)

Gonzalez - his 3rd attempt is good, it appears to be better than the 2nd one, which was pretty good too. The distance is 24' 11". (King - good thing you decided to go back to normal - aggressive would have resulted in an injury)

Mello - one of the best long jumpers in the event, he's currently sitting on a pathetic 22' 5" distance. His 3rd and final attempt is also a foul.

Babson - the injury and the fact the he doesn't currently have a good jump forces Brian to be ultra-conservative on the final attempt. Under the circumstances a 23' 1" result is pretty good.

Kappe - a good jump, but not better than the second attempt - 24' 6"

Ivanov - fouls

Eckberg - fouls

Soldier - trying to better 22' 2", Soldier hits the board flies into the pit and comes out with a limp. Apparently he turned an ankle or knee on the landing. Attempt is a foul.

Gunner - Successful jump, but it's clearly shorter than his 24' 11" first attempt. They were obligated to measure the attempt and it was 23' 11"

Elli - needs a good score to get points in the event - settles for 22' 3"

Cat - fouls and has to settle for 19' 3"

Nights - Pass

EVENT 2 - LONG JUMP - Review

To start with the big winner here was Jeff Nights. A B level card that wins the event is a huge jump. The 25' 6" result was outstanding - in fact the best he could have done was a 25' 8" distance.

The losers here were numerous - the biggest was Babson. An A level card that finishes at the bottom of the event hurts, then adding an injury on top of that is a killer. Soldier is also injured, which doesn't bode well for his overall chances, but he wasn't expected to perform well in this event. Mello is another A level card that finished at the bottom of the event - a very disappointing effort. I'll also add in anyone who failed to get to 900 points in this event - too many players reached at least 900 points - if an athlete didn't they lost a considerable amount of ground to the field. Cat's results was about as bad as I've ever seen, in fact, the worst result possible on Cat's card was a 19' 2" distance.

Well that was more dissapointing than I had wanted. Let's hope we can do better in the shot put. I lost a lot of ground, but still being in 6th place overall isn't that bad.

EVENT 3 - SHOT PUT - Preview

Pflaggstettler
Conservative - can make throws of over 55' in this column - ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Not to mention over 50' results are sitting on high probability rolls like 23, 24, 25, 26, 32, 33, 35. Best in column appears to be 55' 7"
Normal - can get over 57' in this column. only a couple rolls under 52'
Aggressive - as good as the first two column are - this one is forgettable - top throw 56' 10"

Lesgettham
Conservative - only 1 result over 50' and it's on almost impossible to throw 11. Most common outcome will be around 44'
Normal - much better column - with most results over 50'. Highest result appears to be around 54' but on difficult numbers to roll.
Aggressive - 54' 11" looks like a personal best. about a 50-50 split between upper 40s and 50s results

Yellope

Conservative - a weak event for Yellop - this column can't get to 50', in fact, 48' 10" appears to be the max
Normal - 1 shot at 50'. Most results are around mid 40s.
Aggressive - 4 potential 50' results with 52' 5" being the best.

Palmer
Conservative - Wow - a really weak column - 47' 10" is the best
Normal - This a good column - most results are over 50'. 55' 4" looks like the high end and it's on an attainable roll of 23.
Aggressive - a couple results in the 56' range a few more in the low 30s the rest are in the 40s.

Mighty
Conservative - a couple results over 50' including the 50' 0" result on the most common roll of 35.
Normal - a majority of rolls are in the 50' range with the top end being 55' 6". Almost all others are below 52'
Aggressive - nothing that is better than 52' 7"

Gonzalez
Conservative - 33 and 34 rolls will be better than 50' . The column goes as high as 54'
Normal - I only see 1 result below 50'. Can go up to 57'. Several results over 54'.
Aggressive - 58' 4" on 27, 58' 3" on 20, 3 additional results of 55' and half feet or better - the rest of the column is similar or below the normal one.

Mello
Conservative - a few results of better than 50'
Normal - most results are over 50' quite a few in the mid 50's. 56' 9" is the high.
Aggressive - 58' 5" is the best - another result of over 58' is available, but so are 5 results of under 50'

Babson
Conservative - has to thank goodness he's strong in this event - could better 50' which will keep him in contention. A roll of 27 would give him a 55' 6" result.
Normal - NA
Aggressive - NA

Kappe
Conservative - nothing overly impressive -most likely result is in the 47' range.
Normal - A little more than half are 50' or better including a 6 that are better than 53' 6"
Aggressive - weak aggressive column - 53' 8" result is the best in this column

Ivanov

Conservative - only 1 result over 50', probably will be in the 48' range if he rolls this column
Normal - most rolls in the 50s. One in the 40s would be a disappointing outcome. High end = 55' 2"
Aggressive - 54' 11" is the high roll on an attainable 23. Other results are split between 52's area and in the 40s

Eckberg
Conservative - not a good column for someone strong in this event, to many results in the 40s
Normal - The one makes up for it some - not only are most results over 50' - most are over 53'
Aggressive - 3 rolls worth having in this column 24, 17, 18 - the rest aren't as good as the normal column. 24 is attainable, 17 and 18 are very difficult rolls.

Soldier
Conservative - this is going to be ugly - best he can do is a 48' 10"
Normal - NA
Aggressive - NA

Gunner - .
Conservative - 48' range is a probable outcome
Normal - Another impressive normal column for Gunner. 15 results are better than 54'. High = 56' 10" (on 18)
Aggressive - 56' 10" is again the high. a few more in the 55' range.

Elli
Conservative - 47' range is the likely outcome.
Normal - 55' 6" is the high, but it's on a difficult number. Probable outcome on a good roll will be in the 52' range.
Aggressive - 54' 9" is the best. Too many 40' results for my liking.

Cat
Conservative - can't reach 50' at all, but does have some 30' results in high probably rolls
Normal - Hope for a roll of 23 - 51' 7" - one of two in the column and the best possible outcome.
Aggressive - 52' 4" is his best roll.

Nights
Conservative - serveral rolls over 55'
Normal - everything appears to be over 50' including most over the 54' range. 56' 11" is the best.
Aggressive - most results are over 50', but they are in the low 50's not real high outcomes here. 55' 6" appears to be the best.

Nope, your card has a much better probability of a roll in the 50s for normal than aggressive. In addition, your aggressive high end roll isn't significantly better than the rolls in the normal column.
