Rovers Win Battle of The New Lawn

Forest Green battled their way to a 1 - 0 victory in this evenly-matched contest between two hard-working teams.

A spirited game. Caines was called on a foul from a corner kick. I wasn't thrilled about it. We actually attempted more shots on goal than they did, but unable to sink any of them.

Eastwood Town 1 - 0 Braintree Town (Blue Square Bet Premier)

Eastwood battled to a deserved 1 - 0 victory over Braintree on a fine spring afternoon in their Blue Square Bet Premier game at Coronation Park.

Eastwood captain Gavin Falconer gave Eastwood the lead with a well timed close range finish in the 27th minute. With Braintree staring at defeat, there was controversy as centre-back Dean Wells then had a penalty shot turned down.

Not the output I was hoping for. I'm happy enough with the win, but I'd like to have seen the team put in another goal or two. No yellows, no injuries. Pretty quiet game really.
