We just had a fu***ng bat in our house!!!
Mollymurphy and I were just sitting in the den watching TV when at the same time we see this movement out of the corner of our eye. It was a bat flying around our dining room!!
Needless to say we both freaked, she ran out the front door and I ran upstairs. At one point the cat got ahold of it but it got away, I put the cat and dog in another room and eventualy caught it in a laundry basket then heaved it outside. Molly was holding the front door open the whole time hoping it would fly out, our neighbors were looking out their front door the whole time, I am shocked they didn't call the cops. Funny now but we are still a little freaked out. She had just walked in the door 2 minutes earlier so I am hoping it flew in after her and there aren't bats living in our attic. Still, crazy and funny. |

LOL
We had the same thing in our house a few years ago - I got home from work and heard a shuffling around the kitchen I thought was one of our cats on the counter - I look up and there is a bat flying right at my face. I chased it upstairs with digital camera in hand and got a few good pictures before catching him in a box and letting him go outside: |

We get bats in the fraternity house occassionally. Freaky's the right word to describe the feeling you get when one of those suckers flies straight at you.

We had a bat get into the store while I was working at Safeway. Just a little one but the havoc at the front end where all the tills are was absolutely hilarious.
Ended up trapping it with a basket and released it outside, but it certainly livened up the day. Now the squirrel that got into our house, not nearly as clean a capture after it got into the ceiling/floor between levels. Yiza.

not sure if the bat bit your cat, but you might need to have it checked for rabies now

Had a bat in our cottage when I was a kid (14 or so). My older brother cornered it behind a door, and then coldly squished it to death with the handle of a broom while my mom and I squealed and panicked the whole time.

Let me go ahead and third the compliments of Toddzilla's bat pictures....I don't think I'd be able to get clear snaps of it if it was flying around in the same room I was in...
