Can't believe I'm doing this (grad school)............

For a long time, I've had people telling me to go back and get my Rank I in Educational Administration and go for one of our principal jobs in my school I've been at for 16 years. And, I just applied and believe I'll be starting here in a few months. Good god, I swore I'd never do it, but here I go............

I have four more classes to finish my degree but just no desire to ever be a principal. Good luck!

I'm going for 30 hours past my Masters Degree. I can get an Admin credential in about 21 hours, but hell, I can get an extra pay raise if I go to 30 (which is called Rank I). The two hardest things for me will be hours away from my wife and kids, and not reading what I want to read all the time.

Learning is wasted on the young. It's a tremendous opportunity to learn when you can actually appreciate the process.

And, principle gigs are stressful but if you have the right makeup for it, they're awesome. I have a friend who just went down that path early after becoming a teacher. He's really glad he did it, and he didn't even have your inside track at an existing school.

Best of luck. We can never have enough good people handling the education of our kids. Your work is appreciated.
