Cloud Drives..........

I'm really kind of perturbed. I have my important files (school and kids pics) backed up on Amazon Cloud drive. It was simple. Once a month, I uploaded anything I had added to their cloud. At the beginning of the month, they introduced "syncing". You put the file in an "Amazon Cloud" folder on you Mac or PC, and it auto uploads it for you. Unbeknownst to me, if you delete it from that folder on your PC, it deletes it off of your cloud. So, now I have to keep the files on BOTH my Mac AND the Cloud. So it saves me no space on my hard drive. I didn't keep them in my folder on my PC after I saw they were on the Cloud, luckily I had them backed up on external. But the whole thing seems goofy.

I know in Dropbox you have a selective sync option where you can tell it which folders you want to keep locally. On the machines where we have limited storage availability I will usually not sync the images folder or the music folder. So, it still exists in the cloud, but not locally.

Not sure if Amazon has the same feature, but its worth a look.

I love Google Drive. Costs me $20/year for a lot of storage. Couple that with the fact that my soon-coming Google Fiber will give additional space for free and it's a no-brainer.

Does it auto sync, or can you choose?
