There is a long history in FOOL leagues of a dominant regular season flaming out in the postseason! The 119 win Boston team in 1996 did actually win their CLCS, but then flopped in the Classic, losing 5 games to 1.

Will Cleveland break the curse?

The 2018 FOOL-X Classic is set!

The Chicago Cardinals vs the Cleveland Naps

Chicago has had mild success in recent years with trips to the Classic in 2002 and 2010. The Windy City however has never gotten the joy of a FOOL-X title. The last time the Chicago franchise won it all was 38 seasons ago back before they moved from Canada! The Cardinals are in search of the 6th FOOL-X title in franchise history.

Cleveland on the other hand has made the most of their last few Classic trips, winning the title the last three times they made it to the Classic (1987, 1995 and 2003). This is the fourth straight season that the Naps made the FOOL-X playoffs, but their first trip in 15 seasons to the Classic.

These two franchises have never faced each other. The Battle of Interstate-90 up next!

Woooo! Congrats CBF!!! I'm not surprised, and like I said before, I'm not sad that we didn't have to get beat by you.

Chicago, you held in their admirably! Better you that me (though I am proud of how many games we actually won before you stepped in and crushed our dreams).

Adios, Huerta!

One of the league's all time greats has finally retired. For those of us who have had to compete against him, good riddance.

Thanks Teach. We had a great series for sure. I thought you had me down and out but we showed some heart and came back.

At least we represented the CL well!

It was a hell of a series. Congrats on the victory. You had one hell of a team on the field and if we had to go out with a loss, losing to you wasn't so bad.

Maybe we can do it again in the not so distant future.

Nothing like a game seven of the Classic brawl:

Special Notes:
Sixto García and Francisco Valéncia were ejected in the 4th inning for igniting a bench-clearing brawl.

is there a way to see what the record is for most total runs scored in a game by a team? I see the Beach Boys won a game 49-4 against the Axmen.

I don't have the game in front of me right now, but I think in game there is a way to see single game records. Not sure if that is one of them though. It does not appear to be something in the web reports as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the congrats guys... I celebrated by taking the fam to our county fair - way to hot but my daughter loved it so it was very much worth it.

Have a good weekend gang!
