Ping Dallas Area FOFCers

I am going to be in the Dallas area from the 7 to the 9th for work...

I have evenings open if anyone wants to meet up for drinks or whatnot....

I suppose I might be able to meet up with a Cougar, since he drinks. I know off the top of my head that I'll have the evening of the 7th free, and I think I have the 8th and 9th off completely, but I'll have to check to be certain.

Who else is in?

My schedule is real whacky, I travel a lot on a moments notice. But if I am available, I will try to come out for a couple.

I was chatting with Jeeber, and now my schedule has firmed up and I'll be back up here next week as well. The 7th is my dad's b-day, but the 8th looks perfect to schedule a group meeting.

The 8th works great for me if it works for everyone else. Dennis, how mobile are you going to be? I talked to my sister, who knows the area you're staying in better than I do, and she says that there's nothing particularly nice there, unless you want to do the chain restaurant bar (there IS an OG near there, so I could get y'all 25% off food if you want...not on the hooch, though ). But if we met up in Los Colinas, about 10-15 minutes away, there would be a lot of places to choose from.

Of course, if you won't have a vehicle I suppose I could pick you up at the hotel...

I should have a vehicle, if I don't, it's going to be tough getting to my clients stores

Just let me know a time and place on the 8th and I will get there.

Very cool. Does anyone have a preference? Texas Bar and Grill? Champp's? Cool River (probably too swanky for this crowd)? Cowboys Bar and Grill in Valley Ranch? Somewhere else?

I used to live about a block away from the Cowboys Bar and Grill in Valley Ranch, and unless they have changed a lot in the past 12 years, I wasn't that impressed with the place.

I've heard good things about Texas Bar and Grill. Other options to consider would be one of the 10,000 places that has sprung up at MacArthur and LBJ (BWW, Boston's, etc).

Yeah, any time after 6pm works for me. My client wraps up around 5pm, so I can easily be in the Irving/Las Colinas/Valley Ranch area by 6pm.

OK, guess I'll make an executive decision. We'll meet up at Texas Bar and Grill in Las Colinas at 7pm.

220 East Las Colinas Boulevard, Suite 260, Irving, 75039

I'm not exactly sure what the parking situation is there (I haven't been there before, but my sis recommended it and I trust her opinion)...almost certainly there won't be a lot, but there should be a garage nearby.

Does this work for everyone?

Abilene! Do yourself a favor and go to Szechuan on South 1st. It's probably the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life...

I was looking forward to meeting the guy who whups on my Titans all the time, though.

After the travel day from hell I had yesterday and the amazing unfriendliness of my clients today....those $2 wells tomorrow are going to get abused.

How the hell will I know who/what to ask for to find the table? If I ask for a Jeeber they might call 911 on me.

I'll be at the bar wearing a red jacket, light blue hat with yellow fuzz ball and trim, and yellow gloves.

I'll probably be wearing something that's a proper shade of orange, as well as a disgustingly filthy UTEP hat that at one point was white, but now is more of a khaki...

Yeah.....................

Just got back, and had a very good time. It was just me, cartman, and Macro, and we talked about life, families, work, sports, FOF, FOFC, and other assorted topics. And we got to hear a dude jam on his accoustic and sing Britney Spears...

Sorry, lathum, no pics were taken of the event.

I definitely enjoyed it. Had a great time talking with JebberD and Cartman, the dude on the acoustic was annoyingly loud and the fact he sang Britney is where he lost a lot of respect....if he had any!

When I hit Dallas again would definitely be willing to meet up and drink some more!

Unfortunately, the meeting went past 7pm, what with 40+ high school soccer coaches all trying to get there stupid face time. Hope we have a reason to do it again soon.

So a little bump..

New job has me potentially traveling for some training and being in Dallas the 9th and 10th of November.

Just wanted to get a heads up to anyone in the area if they wanted to do a meet and greet..

Another bump...

I arrive around 6 pm on the 8th, have that night for drinks and then I think it's evenings only for the 9th and 10th. I fly out early on the 11th. I will be at the DFW Westin.

I'll be in Richardson for Thanksgiving. More than likely taking our youngest daughter to the Legoland Discovery Center at some point that week.
