PureSim Freeware Release Announcement
Hi guys, last PureSim SPAM for a while I promise
The beta is over, and we have released the official Freeware version at Suldog Studios. I think Matrix will also be mirroring it which is pretty cool of them. I hope you enjoy the game and I look forward to continue to evolve it. One of the best features is the price - Free Suldog Studios - Home |

Why? It's a gaming messageboard man. With many folks who have enjoyed PS over the years, and doubtless will continue to enjoy it. Git the word out!! In fact - you should prolly put a link to Suldog Studios in your signature!

C'mon Shaun! Great opportunity to start an 'Alrighty Boyz!!!!!' thread for your own game and you come up with this lame thread title?
Very disappointing. Last edited by Mizzou B-ball fan : 06-11-2009 at 12:06 PM. |

I created a small league and it has no players on the teams. How do I generate fictional players to fill the league? Can't seem to figure this out.
edit: got it, a bit unintuitive and if you miss it the first time you apparently have to recreate your league? Last edited by MJ4H : 06-11-2009 at 10:17 PM. |

Is there a list of some of the features you've added somewhere? Thanks for releasing the game. Had a great time playing it two years ago, but sort of trailed off. I'll definitely be picking it up again.

just had something very weird happen
bob bescher (real life 28 HR in his career) hit 57 HR in 1915 and hit .325 (this from a guy who in his real life full seasons hit MAX .281). Lil bit wonky methinx.

One other thing Shaun, I haven't played a baseball sim actively since OOTP 6 I think it was (never cared for the SI demos of OOTP, plus I stopped playing text sims much), so I appreciate you putting this out there. I'm not sure I ever gave Pure Sim much of a shot before, but will try and do so now

DT - What stadiums are you using? Sometimes that can cause some odd outcomes.

Yeah, I ran 10 seasons on auto play and 10 times either the Blue Jays or Rays won the AL east evry time the Sox were in last place with some odd stats for the 2007 season.

There are settings somewhere in the Options to change the frequency of home runes (triples, doubles and singles). I would imagine for 1915 that you would need to push the Home Run slider down quite a bit to get that historically accurate.

Make sure you change the stadiums as everyone plays in the same default stadium. All of the historical stadiums are included.

I think that's supposed to be done automatically as part of choosing which year to start in (down on the "new game" screen there's a selection that talks about that).

change the staidums - why isn't this setup automatically? are there any default setup packs for different years or anything that do it automatically? or do i have to go through and do it each time?

It is not automatic, and yes, you have to do it over again for each new association. I've asked Shaun to consider this for a future version. |

Yup, that must be what is screwing evrything up and the having to reload stadiums was the reason I stopped playing Puresim just about every version now that I think of it. I too have been saying this needs to be automated and be able to save it. I think once you load the stadium and save the association as a template you should be ok. |

but if i'm playing historically in say 1915 that means i gotta go and google all the teams to find out which stadium they were actually in in 1915 *boos*

Yea, save as template is currently the best option there. I will look into building that in for a future version. Thanks for trying the game. Shaun |

Prior to downloading the game how does puresim handle expansion in a historical career? I guess now would be a good time to add that I haven't ever tried puresim or a baseball text sim period since OOTP 6.5 and always found adding teams at the appropriate time a pain in the ass back then for historical sims.

So how's this game for someone like me, that has never followed baseball? I only have a very rudimentary understanding of the stats, and i only understand the basic flow of the game, and the main rules. Will i be overwhelmed?

The game screen doesnt fit into my monitor screen. Without changing my options on my computer, how can I make it fit?
Thanks Last edited by tarcone : 06-15-2009 at 07:56 AM. |
