CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.20

I'm starting to feel the pressure of having too many workers. I've decided that, even though I just signed a new worker, that I will Terminate agreements with 3 Openers, 2 Lower Midcarders and 1 Midcarder to see if that helps.

Anyway, a new Opener.

Erik Strong
Lightweight Cruiserweight-Style
Wrestling Skills: Aerial C, Flashiness B-, Chain C-
Entertainment: Mic C-, Charisma C+
Performance: C+ to B+
Star Quality B
Face A / Heel B-
Popularity: Canada F, US E

Note: A heel Opener for now.

And here is the list of workers I have terminated
Insane Machine - since he's been away on Sundays anyway, he's gone.

Opener: Joe Gilbert
Opener: Jesse Gilbert - They've been wanting a better push, but they suck
Opener: Lead Belly

Low. Midcarder: Zeus Maxmillion
Low. Midcarder: Giant Redwood - Brought him to see if I could do anything with the giant, but I can't really think of anything.

Midcarder: Destiny - Haven't been using him, his teammate is gone so I might as well get rid of him too.

From the look of things, I may make another round of terminations. It may reach up into the Upper Midcarders.

In Other News: I resigned Bryan Holmes. He's put on some really great matches lately. He gets $2500 PPA for 18 months and a promise of a Midcard title

And CGC Title Bout Wrestling gets renewed for another season. And NOTBW has a TV show again.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.17

Tim Westybrook changed his style to Brawler

Crippler Ray Kingman is retiring. I need to find a new road agent.

And I found one. Say hello to our new Road Agent (and perhaps he will appear on screen at some point).....Nemesis!

He's actually a step down in Road Agent from Kingman, so I'll have Nemesis take over the role of Road Agent after Kingman leaves rather than right away (Kingman is A* in Road Agent, Nemesis is A).

*Oops, accidently booked Gauge twice...*

The write up for the dark match uses Nathan Coleman's name instead of Gauge's name, so it looks like you just accidently put Gauge's name in the bold section.

CGC Luck of the Draw had a 0.23 PPV Buyrate

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.35 (Woohoo!)

I terminate my contracts with Bobby Thomas and JD Morgan. I also terminated my deal with Johnny Martin who has been injured. He won't be healed until right before the contract ended anyway.

I am ending Black Eagle's Army. It just isn't working as a stable. Black Eagle needs to be a loner. I may have Century team with Omar and then have Holmes be on his own as well.

Jack DeColt needs to be at a B Momentum in 4 months. Time for him to go on a long winning streak, and if that doesn't do it alone, I may have to give him the world title.

Steve DeColt needs to be at a B- Popularity in Canada, so I need to have him be seen.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.36

I'd say my experiment to just have one side in a storyline pretty much failed. None of the storylines I had going got above a C+ in Heat. Maybe they did early on, but they lost too much heat as time went on.

Anyway, time to write out some new storylines.

Black Eagle and Steve DeColt can fight again in May, so I'll put them in a storyline in which they have a tag match or two, and bunch of angles that lead up to a big rematch for the title in the May PPV, which is Chaos In The Cage. Perfect, a cage match for the title in May.

I'll also have a storyline with Elite against the DeColts, with Steve DeColt playing a minor role in it since he'll be distracted by Black Eagle. All the while that this is going on, I'm going to build Johnny Bloodstone up the most to get ready to give him a push into the World title picture.

I'm also going to do an 8 man tournament featuring Upper Midcarders and Midcarders. The winner of the finals will be crowned the first CGC TV Champion.

I created the tag team Sharp Shooters out of Harrison Hash and Shooter Sean Deeley. They'll be having tag team dark matches every week for awhile to build up their experience.

I have moved ahead of NOTBW for the first time! I am now 11th in the world, and they are 12th. That officially makes us the #1 Canadian fed!

Part of the reason I signed several more openers is that my Lower Midcarder push is looking slim, so I'll sign a lot and let the cream rise. I specifically went after Selling, which all of these guys have a good rating in.

Also, I want a lot of openers so that I don't run out of combinations as I push a few tag teams.

Time to start planning out some stuff. Everytime I load the game up, to following thought comes to me "What did I want do to? Oh well, I figure something out." I may have gotten to the #1 Canadian fed spot, but I think it had more to do with NOTBW failing than my succeeding. I fact, I think I have been failing, just not as much as NOTBW. I think the main problem is I keep forgetting what it is I want to do.

So, I'm going to plan out the next several weeks.

First, a look at all of my Main Eventers and Upper Midcarders to see who they fought in the last 6 months (excluding tag matches)

(Note: I'm not including Shooter Sean Deeley in this list since he'll be busy every week fighting in a tag match with Harrison Hash. Since I don't really have a viable tag opponent for The Canadian Rockers right now, they will be included. I'll need to keep them active a bit in singles matches to keep their momentum and popularity up)

A lot of matches, but not all that many that I'd consider Main Events for the TV show let alone for a PPV event. Most of these matches would really bu the 3rd match (of 4) for a TV show.

To back up a bit, Jack DeColt has 2 months and 2 weeks to get from a C- Momentum to a B- momentum. Most of the matches he is involved with above will most likely happen, and he'll most likely win, since I don't have much time left. The only one that probably won't happen would be vs. Black Eagle, since I need to keep having Jack win and Black Eagle will be facing Steve DeColt in next month's PPV.

Steve DeColt needs to be a popularity B- or higher. He's at B- now, and as long as I keep having him win, it'll probably stay in the B- range.

For the rest of this month, I'll probably focus on matches in which I can book twice between workers that I have no plans for (IOW, I don't plan to have the feud)
Ryan Powell vs Steve DeColt
Steve Flash vs Travis Century
Ricky DeColt vs. Travis Century
Jack DeColt vs Johnny Bloodstone
Dan DeLay vs. Jack DeColt
Dan DeLay vs Ricky DeColt
Dan DeLay vs Steve Flash

and a bunch of matches with Owen Love and Trent Shaffer. These are the matches that will likely happen the rest of this month.

Johnny Bloodstone

And I'll stop there since I'd be a fool to not have Steve DeColt battle Johnny Bloodstone. As for Black Eagle, Alex DeColt makes the most sense

So after May, it will be Steve DeColt vs Johnny Bloodstone and Black Eagle vs Alex DeColt.

What about everyone else? Well, it's time I gave Dan DeLay a push. I don't like the idea of having DeLay battle Ricky DeColt, so I guess that leaves Jack DeColt. That leaves Ricky DeColt battling Ryan Powell one on one since he can't feud with Eddie Chandler in the near future.

So that leaves the question, what do I do with Eddie Chandler? That only viable other face I have is Dalas McWade.

Rundown of feuds starting after Chaos In The Cage
Black Eagle vs Alex DeColt
Steve DeColt vs Johnny Bloodstone
Dan DeLay va Jack DeColt
Eddie Chandler vs Dallas McWade
Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell

5 feuds. I may combine a few of them into a storyline, but my plan is to write out several storylines that will be interweaving. I basically have 4 factions working here (2 of them just individuals). The DeColt Family - Elite - Black Eagle - Dallas McWade.

I've been working out storyline ideas, including a very long series of storylines that will be the story of Kirk Jameson's rise to glory that I am basing loosely on the Rurouni Kenshin anime.....yes, I'm a dork.

Anyway, enough of my brainstorming for the summer and fall. Time to get back to the present.

Sabotai-just a thought and to share with you what i do. For TV shows you can throw a 5v5 elimination match(dark match) and have 5 midcarders you think have a future vs your lower ranked guys (good for increasing skills too). This can build some momentem for those guys. Then i will throw them against my 5 most over workers for a show. I also try to use everyone every show unless i got a message he needs a few days off then i will give him a week off. It great for building popularity as i had a bunch of f- guys now in the c- range (although i think some guys have capped lower than that). So in stead of have 8-12 guys in the mix I now have 20+ guys who can pull off good matches. I now have midcard guys who are just as good as my main eventers where when i started the fed.

I like your thinking outloud posts.

I dunno. That seems like a bit of an exploit. I wouldn't imagine such a thing would go over very well in real life.

But then again, the AI doesn't have to follow a lot of the rules I do, so....I'll think about doing that, but for now I'd still rather try to get my tag teams some popularity, experience and momentum. In a few months, I may start doing this.

This was a very interesting post for someone who is still playing TEW 07. I love the idea of repetitive booking penalties but they might be a little strict right now.

I wonder how much a 4th match would really be crapped on in terms of ratings.

The 3rd match really ins't much of an obstacle and when push comes to shove, I have no problems taking the chance on it as I did with Black Eagle vs. Ricky DeColt ladder match. In the first 6 months, I hit this wall a lot (because I stupidly didn't RTFM), but I came out fine more times than not. But those few times I didn't, it really hurt the overall rating (since it was a main event match) of the card and I'm still trying to dig myself out of the pain those few matches caused.

I don't recall, but I think I may have had a 4th match at one point and it came out fine.

As long as the match is better than the average of the previous matches, you are good. So if you had 3 matches, and they were C-, C, C-, as long as the 4th match is a C or better, you'll be fine. If it's a C- or lower, it'll probably get slammed down to an E+ or worse.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.34

It looks as though I have repaired my lost popularity in Canada, which would explain why my ratings are back up. That was the easy part, though. My popularity in BC is still only a C, which explains why my attendance is still low...

CRAP! Bryan Holmes signed a written deal with GCG. Luckily he is not involved with a storyline right now, but man, he has great performance ratings and always puts on good matches. This one hurts...

I guess I'll be editing the posts above to remove Bryan Holmes.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.37

My bloated schedule is starting to really effect me. Between trying to keep my top guys seen and active and trying to get my new tag teams some experience, there just isn't any time for midcarders. I may have to make some pretty tough decisions soon.

EDIT: As it turns out, you can adjust the length of your shows. It seems odd that you can do that, but I just made Title Bout Wrestling a 1 and a half hours long.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.33

I changed my TV show back to 1 hour. At 1 and half hours, it'd be too expensive paying for the workers.

Now that's it May, a recap of the matches that open up for me.

Alex DeColt vs Black Eagle
Black Eagle vs Steve DeColt
Eddie Chandler vs Ricky DeColt
Eddie Chandler vs Steve DeColt - Poor Chemistry but both matches were stil B- Rated
Jack DeColt vs Ryan Powell
Johnny Bloodstone vs. Steve Flash

Since I plan to feud Black Eagle and Alex DeColt, strike out that match. The rest, look them to be booked before the PPV. I'm going to throw everything I can at the next two TV shows and then the PPV to try to get a bit of a surge going.

Shooter Sean Deeley signed to tour with iNSPIRE. It shouldn't interfere with our schedule.

Mick Muscles' contract ends in a month. No need to wait, I terminate it.

I have resigned Trent Shaffer. $2k PPA, Midcard Title run, 20% merchandise.

Matthew Gauge signed a written contract with GCG, so I'll be losing him. A shame, he had a ton of ability and could have made his way up through the ranks.

The DeColt-Black Eagle storyline didn't update because of another error in the storyline (my storyline). Now I'm stuck. If I end it, their momentum gets killed. I can't evolve it because 2 of the major players need to be in the evolved storyline.

Well, the only thing I can really do is just bite the bullet, end it, and maybe this will finally teach me to proofread my storylines. Black Eagle's momentum went from C+ to D, Steve DeColt went to C+ to D-. No one to blame but myself...

The not so bad news is that I really do think I'm getting a hang of this game, and dealing with momentum. I have 5 feuds coming up, and I can take a month or two off from both Steve DeColt's and Black Eagle's planned feuds to have them fight several jobber matches to get their momentum back to C or C+ and then move on.

This may be the last update for while. I want to write out some really epic storylines, interweaving storylines, etc. and that's going to take a lot of planning.

I am definitely going to take it much slower from now on, though. One of the problems I have had is that I don't allow my main eventers to build up momentum. I should have them fighting jobbers to keep their momentum up while they are in storylines, but I don't, and their momentum sucks. Steve DeColt had a C momentum going into the title match, and I should have allowed that to happen. For now on, no more needing to update every storyline once per show. I need to make sure all of my main eventers and upper midcarders get a some jobber matches to get/keep their momentum up.

Jack DeColt's momentum is B-, so I'm on pace for that goal. He just needs a push over the edge, although I'm not dure he's going to make it. I've rarely seen one of my workers with higher than a B- momentum.

Steve DeColt is at C+ popularity, but having the title now will easily push that up to B-.

Only about 1 month left on those two goals.

EDIT: In one of the recent releases of the temporary patch, Adam changed it the repetive booking to trigger at 4 matches rather than 3. So that will change my plans a bit.

Wish I saw that before I ended the Black Eagle-Steve DeColt storyline, though. I could have had a 3rd match and finished it properly. Oh well.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.29

Chaos In The Cage got a 0.24 PPV Buyrate

I forgot that Travis Century and Dallas McWade had their momentums killed when I ended that storyline as well, so that's one reason for the low main event rating in the last card. However, they are already on the rise and I think I'll be fine.

Mr. Lucha III, Teddy Powell, Donnie J and Marc Speed have been let go. I needed to trim down the amount of openers I had.
