Eric Anderson Jr. - SG Wisconsin

7-4
20.0 MIN - 9.0 PTS - 4.8 REB - 1.4 AST - 1.1 STL
44% FG - 38% 3P - 54% FT

Wisconsin ended the month on a 4 game winning streak as Anderson Jr. poured in 20 points in 21 minutes for the Badgers against Alcorn State. The Badgers biggest win was a 84-76 win over 10-3 BYU. Their only losses this month were to 11-1 Iowa State and 10-5 Notre Dame.

Tim Moungey - PG Ohio State

5-8
26.7 MIN - 8.5 PTS - 3.1 AST - 1.9 REB - 1.7 STL - 3.9 TO
40% FG - 37% 3P - 70% FT

It's been a tough start for the Buckeyes. Moungey has played well at times but has also struggled averaging more turnovers per game than assists. Ohio State is currently on a 4 game losing streak as they head into January. They do have one big win over 11-1 North Carolina though. In that game Moungey had 7 points and 2 assists in 30 minutes. Against UCLA, Moungey had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

Rob Nielsen - SF UCLA

9-4
5.7 MIN - 2.0 PTS - 0.5 REB - 0.4 AST - 0.5 STL
47% FG - 20% 3P - 50% FT

It's been a good start for the Bruins and Nielsen has come off the bench in all 13 games. He hasn't put up many points, his high is 6, but he has made 10 of 21 shots.

Jeff Nights - PF UCLA

26.2 MIN - 7.2 PTS - 6.9 REB - 1.6 AST - 1.2 BLK - 1.7 TO
40% FG - 68% FT

Nights has been very steady for the 9-4 Bruins. In a 95-76 win over Tim Moungey and Ohio State, Nights put up 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

AJ Tucker - PG Missouri

8-1 - #12
28.6 MIN - 8.7 PTS - 4.9 AST - 3.3 REB - 3.7 STL - 4.0 TO
42% FG - 28% FT - 76% 3P

Tucker has been great for the surprising 8-1 Tigers. The Tigers had a great game against 11-1 Michigan State, winning 74-57. But in the latest game for the Tigers, their first loss of the season to Tennessee. Tucker turned the ball over 12 times and only had 3 assists.

Nick Phillips - C USC

11-3
30.2 MIN - 9.1 PTS - 8.4 REB - 2.1 BLK - 1.5 AST - 3.4 TO
55% FG - 87% FT

Phillips, along with fellow freshmen Kendall Tyler have helped USC on a great start with big wins over Okahoma and Stanford. His free throw shooting has been terrific thus far.

Rudy Ray Moore - SG Illinois

7-5
28.1 MIN - 11.3 PTS - 2.9 REB - 2.1 AST - 4.0 TO
37% FG - 29% 3P - 77% FT

It's been a tough start for Illinois. They've lost 5 games early on, when last season they only lost 5 throughout the regular season. Their losses though, have all been against tough teams. Arkansas, Stanford, UConn, Duke and 9-2 Creighton. Moore has been putting up good numbers, his shooting percentages could be a little higher though.

Ryan Clark - SG Wright State

4-6
23.6 MIN - 5.0 PTS - 1.7 AST - 1.1 REB
48% FG - 50% 3P - 25% FT

Clark has missed three games so far for Wright State with a stratched cornea. When he has played he has shot the ball extemely well, 8 of 16 from three point range. After he comes back from the injury, Wright State needs to find a way to get him more shots.

Hey the Buckeyes may be young and green, but we'll be fantastic by the time I'm a senior... and I'm a thief in the night, oh yes.

Not a bad start if I do say so myself although I'm not to happy with that last game... 3 assists and 12 turnovers just won't cut it.

I'm hoping the recruiting process works out and I can contribute to some good seasons in Champaign-Urbana.

Eric Anderson Jr. - SG Wisconsin - Freshmen

11-7
19.5 MIN - 9.2 PTS - 3.8 REB - 1.4 AST - 1.9 TO
48% FG - 47% 3P - 57% FT

Anderson had had a fairly good freshmen season providing a spark for the Badgers off bench. His three-point shooting has been terrific. He is currently the Badgers 4th leading scorer. Wisconsin finds itself currently 5th in the Big Ten.

Tim Moungey - PG Ohio State - Freshmen

7-12
26.5 MIN - 8.3 PTS - 2.7 AST - 1.7 REB - 2.2 STL - 3.6 TO
39% FG - 38% 3P - 71% FT

Ohio State has struggled so far and Moungey has at times also. His assist/turnover ratio is 0.76. The Buckeyes have lost 8 of their last 10 games. His season high scoring effort is 18.

Rob Nielsen - SF UCLA - Freshmen

12-9
5.4 MIN - 1.8 PTS - 0.3 REB - 0.4 AST - 0.7 TO - 0.3 STL
48% FG - 25% 3P - 64% FT

Nielsen still hasn't been able to see much of the floor yet as the players he is playing behind are averaging 15 and 17 points a game.

Jeff Nights - PF UCLA - Freshmen

12-9
27.0 MIN - 7.6 PTS - 6.6 REB - 1.6 AST - 1.0 BLK - 0.6 STL - 1.6 TO
40% FG - 70% FT

UCLA had a tough January as they entered conference play and Nights has struggled at times. Currently he is 5th on the team in scoring and 2nd in rebounding. In the game against USC, Nights put up 9 points, but only had 1 rebound against Nick Phillips and the Trojans in a 92-84 win.

AJ Tucker - PG Missouri - Freshmen

13-4
28.5 MIN - 8.8 PTS - 5.1 AST - 2.5 REB - 3.3 STL - 4.5 TO
41% FG - 30% 3P - 76% FT

Tucker has continued to play well for the Tigers as they entered play in the Big 12. Their three losses this month were all against winning teams. Tucker is currently 15th in the country in steals. He is the top freshmen in both steals and assists.

Nick Phillips - C USC - Freshmen

14-8
30.9 MIN - 9.4 PTS - 7.9 REB - 1.3 AST - 2.1 BLK - 3.3 TO
56% FG - 87% FT

Phillips has been extemely solid in the middle for the Trojans with his ability to rebound and block shots. But they lost the battle to UCLA and Jeff Nights and Rob Nielsen.

Rudy Ray Moore - SG Illinois - Freshmen

10-10
25.4 MIN - 11.3 PTS - 2.6 REB - 1.8 AST - 3.7 TO
40% FG - 31% 3P - 78% FT

It's been a bad year for the Illini. They already have 5 more losses than they did last season. Moore is still putting up points and his field goal percentage is slowly getting more and more respectable.

Ryan Clark - SG Wright State - Freshmen

6-12
24.7 MIN - 6.3 PTS - 1.7 REB - 1.6 AST - 2.4 TO
47% FG - 38% 3P - 61% FT

Clark returned from his injury and still isn't scoring as much he would like to for struggling Wright State. His three point percentage has dropped a bit but his field goal percentage remains good.

Before Conference Tournaments

Eric Anderson Jr. - SG Wisconsin - Freshmen

13-14
19.0 MIN - 8.4 PTS - 3.5 REB - 1.2 AST - 1.7 TO
45% FG - 40% 3P - 61% FT

The Badgers have been struggling and Anderson's shooting percentage has been going down.

Tim Moungey - PG Ohio State - Freshmen

12-17
26.3 MIN - 8.0 PTS - 2.6 AST - 1.8 REB - 2.4 STL - 3.6 TO
37% FG - 33% 3P - 71% FT

Moungey has stayed consistent the past month and Ohio State has played about .500 ball in the Big Ten. In a win over Minnesota, Moungey put up 22 points.

Rob Nielsen - SF UCLA - Freshmen

20-10 - #21
5.3 MIN - 1.7 PTS - 0.4 REB - 0.3 AST - 0.5 TO - 0.3 STL
51% FG - 35% 3P - 68% FT

The playing time situation has not improved at all for Nielsen, but the Bruins are playing very well heading into the tournaments.

Jeff Nights - PF UCLA - Freshmen

20-10 - #21
24.7 MIN - 6.9 PTS - 6.0 REB - 1.4 AST - 0.9 BLK - 0.6 STL - 1.5 TO
41% FG - 68% FT

It was a tough month for Nights as he missed 4 games with an injury and came off the bench in 2 others. The injury is a pinched nerve and he is still listed as day-to-day. The Bruins hope to have their starting PF back for the NCAA Tournament.

AJ Tucker - PG Missouri - Freshmen

19-8
28.5 MIN - 7.8 PTS - 4.9 AST - 2.5 REB - 3.0 STL - 4.9 TO
39% FG - 26% 3P - 76% FT

The season has began to wear on Tucker has all his numbers have gone down slightly. But he still has the Tigers playing very well heading into the postseason.

Nick Phillips - C USC - Freshmen

18-13
30.5 MIN - 9.3 PTS - 7.3 REB - 1.2 AST - 2.0 BLK - 3.4 TO
57% FG - 86% FT

USC has struggled but Phillips' numbers have stayed relatively the same. A possible matchup with UCLA awaits in the Pac-10 tournament.

Rudy Ray Moore - SG Illinois - Freshmen

14-15
26.9 MIN - 13.1 PTS - 2.6 REB - 1.8 AST - 3.9 TO
44% FG - 36% 3P - 76% FT

It was a very good month individually for Moore, not for Illinois though. Moore's points and shooting percentages have been rising steadily.

Ryan Clark - SG Wright State - Freshmen

10-19
25.0 MIN - 6.9 PTS - 1.9 REB - 1.8 AST - 2.2 TO
43% FG - 36% 3P - 71% FT

It's not quite the season Clark hoped for when he headed to Wright State. They hope to salvage something when they head to the Horizon League's postseason tournament.

Wow....dissapointing season after a good 11-3 start. I was hoping for much more in Phillips' freshman year. Well hopefully USC can make a run in the NIT and get a good recruiting class in there.

As for Tim Lucas goes Kansas hopefully they will do better then USC.

Wow, what was Clark thinking accepting that offer to Wright State? Butler would have been a much better place for him to go, not mention in his back yard, if he was unable to find a spot in a more prestigious program. It looks like he may very well waste away in obscurity.

It is nice to see a fellow recruit go to Stanford in Kyle Kappe. Hopefully they can take over the Pac-10.

Either Iowa or Notre Dame would be my own personal version of hell for schools to attend. At least frigging Indiana is not on the list to complete an unholy triumverate.

Edit - Mizzou is a decent alternate for the triumverate. Clearly this game has a sense of humor.

Sophomore year for Phillips at USC. I don't know if they are over-rated at #9 or if they have improved drastically after not getting to the tournament last year. Lets hope improvement.

Lucas takes a redshirt at Kansas which is okay because thats just a year he can improve.

Eric Anderson Jr. - SG Wisconsin - Sophomore

8-3
16.2 MIN - 6.1 PTS - 1.9 REB - 1.1 AST - 1.0 STL - 1.2 TO
40% FG - 33% 3P - 50% FT

Anderson's numbers have fallen a bit from last years but Wisconsin is playing much better early on.

Tim Moungey - PG Ohio State - Sophomore

7-2
29.8 MIN - 11.1 PTS - 4.2 AST - 2.3 REB - 2.8 STL - 3.2 TO
44% FG - 34% 3P - 84% FT

Moungey has been much better so far this season in his sophomore season and Ohio State's record shows that improvement. A 7-2 record with a very young team is a great sign for the future.

Rob Nielsen - SF UCLA - Sophomore

9-3 - #23
6.8 MIN - 2.5 PTS - 1.3 REB - 0.3 AST - 0.9 STL
44% FG - 50% 3P - 100% FT

Like last season, Nielsen is struggling to find playing time. It seems as if an injury is the only way he'll see significant playing time this year.

Jeff Nights - PF UCLA - Sophomore

9-3 - #23
29.3 MIN - 13.0 PTS - 8.1 REB - 1.1 AST - 1.6 BLK - 3.4 TO
51% FG - 50% 3P - 66% FT

Nights has missed 5 games due to a dislocated knee but should be coming back soon. While he has been on the court he has been playing very well with a season high of 23 in points and 13 in rebounds.

AJ Tucker - PG Missouri - Sophomore

8-3
30.5 MIN - 8.7 PTS - 5.9 AST - 2.2 REB - 2.5 STL - 4.6 TO
40% FG - 33% 3P - 84% FT

Tucker has been steady for the Tigers and his assists have gone up and his turnovers down slightly this season. His season highs are 20 points and 10 assists.

Nick Phillips - C USC - Sophomore

10-2 - #9
33.8 MIN - 14.9 PTS - 7.7 REB - 1.8 AST - 3.6 BLK - 3.4 TO
58% FG - 50% 3P - 92% FT

Phillips has been a monster inside for the greatly improved Trojans averaging 15 points and 3 and a half blocks a game. His free throw shooting has been amazing as well.

Rudy Ray Moore - SG Illinois - Sophomore

5-10
33.1 MIN - 17.2 PTS - 3.9 REB - 2.1 AST - 0.6 STL - 5.0 TO
38% FG - 30% 3P - 90% FT

Moore has been putting up plenty of points for Illinois, but the team has struggled greatly with losses to teams such as Cleveland State and Bradley. His season high in points is 30.

Ryan Clark - SG Wright State - Sophomore

2-7
10.7 MIN - 3.4 PTS - 1.3 REB - 1.1 AST - 0.1 STL - 0.9 TO
50% FG - 45% 3P - 75% FT

Clark can not be having a good time at Wright State. His minutes have been cut by more than half and the team is struggling greatly.

Deacon Palmer - SF Alabama - Redshirt Freshmen

7-4
5.7 MIN - 1.8 PTS - 0.8 REB - 0.4 AST - 0.3 STL - 0.8 TO
46% FG - 100% FT

After redshirting a year Palmer has yet to see much playing time to Alabama. His high in points is 7.

Andy Robinson - SG Stanford - Freshmen

10-4
12.6 MIN - 6.4 PTS - 3.6 REB - 0.8 AST - 0.2 STL - 0.7 BLK - 0.7 TO
56% FG - 100% 3P - 100%FT

Robinson has been extremely solid off the bench for Stanford. If he were to get big minutes his numbers would be very impressive.

Damien Steele - PG Oregon State - Freshmen

5-5
17.2 MIN - 5.7 PTS - 1.4 REB - 1.3 AST - 1.1 STL - 0.9 TO
50% FG - 47% 3P - 71% FT

Steele has been getting a good amount of playing time for the Beavers. His high in points is 10.

Sean Treacy - SF Utah - Freshmen

7-7
7.2 MIN - 2.0 PTS - 1.1 REB - 1.1 AST 0.9 TO
38% FG - 46% 3P - 66% FT

Treacy hasn't seen the floor much for the Utes and his high in points is only 3.

Kyle Kappe - SG Stanford - Freshmen

10-4
26.4 MIN - 9.9 PTS - 2.2 REB - 2.4 AST - 0.8 STL - 4.4 TO
38% FG - 41% 3P - 59% FT

Kappe has been strong for the Cardinal. Against St. Mary's Kappe put in 21 points.

Brenden Eckberg - C Oklahoma State - Freshmen

3-5
12.6 MIN - 5.8 PTS - 1.6 REB - 1.1 AST - 0.3 BLK - 1.4 TO
51% FG - 77% FT

Eckberg has been solid so far. His field goal percentage is good but Oklahoma State has struggled in non-conference play with losses to Creighton and Wichita State.

Rick Jolley - PF Mississippi - Freshmen

11-0 - #17
24.0 MIN - 8.2 PTS - 7.9 REB - 2.1 AST - 1.0 STL - 1.6 TO
49% FG - 47% FT

Despite not starting, Jolley has been a huge part of Mississippi's 11-0 start. He has been getting starter minutes and performing well. His season high is 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Dylan Airhart - SG Indiana - Freshmen

10-5 - #16
28.8 MIN - 10.1 PTS - 2.6 REB - 2.2 AST - 0.9 STL - 3.4 TO
46% FG - 48% 3P - 95% FT

It's been a very good start so far for Airhart as his shooting has helped Indiana to a #16 ranking. His high was a 26 point effort.

Thomas Nights - SG Syracuse - Freshmen

7-6
31.5 MIN - 6.8 PTS - 3.3 REB - 3.1 AST - 2.5 STL - 3.3 TO
49% FG - 25% 3P - 84% FT

Nights hasn't put up many points but has shot the ball well and played good defense for the 7-6 Orangemen. His high was a 12 point effort.

The 10-2 start for USC this year resembles the 11-3 start from last year. Lets hope it doesnt end the same way in losing a bunch in the end.

Phillips has some nice numbers I especially like the 3.6 blocks a game.

My guy Rudy Ray Moore is a stud. Way too many turnovers a game, but I am guessing that since his team sucks, he has to do most of the shooting, driving and penetrating, causing more turnovers.

Eric Anderson Jr. - SG Wisconsin - Sophomore

15-4
16.6 MIN - 6.0 PTS - 2.2 REB - 0.9 AST - 1.5 STL - 1.5 TO
38% FG - 28% 3P - 47% FT

Wisconsin has been very good so far but Anderson's shooting percentages haven't been so good, especially his free throw shooting.

Tim Moungey - PG Ohio State - Sophomore

9-9
29.7 MIN - 9.1 PTS - 3.9 AST - 2.6 REB - 2.4 STL - 3.9 TO
36% FG - 26% 3P - 75% FT

Ohio State has started the Big Ten season 0-7 and Moungey has not played at well. His numbers have fallen off and Ohio State finds themselves at the bottom of the Big Ten.

Rob Nielsen - SF UCLA - Sophomore

16-4 - #12
7.7 MIN - 2.5 PTS - 1.4 REB - 0.6 AST - 0.9 STL
40% FG - 41% 3P - 88% FT

Nielsen has been getting about a minute more of playing time a game but his stats haven't changed much. But a minute more is a start. UCLA is playing very well.

Jeff Nights - PF UCLA - Sophomore

16-4 - #12
29.5 MIN - 12.7 PTS - 7.9 REB - 1.3 AST - 1.1 BLK - 2.9 TO
46% FG - 50% 3P - 70% FT

Nights has a season high of 23 points so far this season and has remained steady for the greatly improving Bruins. In a epic 104-103 overtime win over Nick Phillips and USC, Nights had 19 points and 10 rebounds.

AJ Tucker - PG Missouri - Sophomore

14-5 - #22
29.3 MIN - 8.1 PTS - 5.5 AST - 1.8 REB - 2.4 STL - 4.1 TO
40% FG - 23% 3P - 83% FT

Tucker and the Tigers have been playing well in the early part of the Big 12 schedule. As always, he has been playing terrific defense.

Nick Phillips - C USC - Sophomore

17-3 - #5
33.6 MIN - 13.3 PTS - 7.8 REB - 2.1 AST - 3.5 BLK - 3.3 TO
59% FG - 50% 3P - 88% FT

Phillips continues to play very well and USC has looked great. It's only loss during the month was a 104-103 overtime loss to a very good UCLA team.

Rudy Ray Moore - SG Illinois - Sophomore

6-18
31.5 MIN - 17.5 PTS - 4.2 REB - 2.2 AST - 0.5 STL - 4.9 TO
40% FG - 31% 3P - 88% FT

Moore continues to put up numbers for Illinois. But they continue to struggle greatly. They've lost 6 straight and 9 of their last 10.

Ryan Clark - SG Wright State - Sophomore

6-13
10.6 MIN - 3.9 PTS - 1.0 REB - 0.8 AST - 0.1 STL - 0.8 TO
52% FG - 50% 3P - 70% FT

Clark continues to shoot the ball very well. 16 of 32 from three this season. But Wright State doesn't seem to find a spot for him.

Deacon Palmer - SF Alabama - Redshirt Freshmen

9-12
6.4 MIN - 1.7 PTS - 0.9 REB - 0.2 AST - 0.2 STL - 0.7 TO
36% FG - 14% 3P - 76% FT

Palmer has yet to do much this season for Alabama who is struggling.

Andy Robinson - SG Stanford - Freshmen

15-7
13.0 MIN - 5.7 PTS - 3.5 REB - 0.7 AST - 0.2 STL - 0.8 BLK - 0.8 TO
53% FG - 100% 3P - 100%FT

Robinson has shot 40-40 free throws on the season. His season high is 14 points.

Damien Steele - PG Oregon State - Freshmen

9-9
17.2 MIN - 5.2 PTS - 1.7 REB - 1.2 AST - 1.1 STL - 1.2 TO
46% FG - 38% 3P - 73% FT

Steele has remained stready for Oregon State. The Beavers have struggled though.

Sean Treacy - SF Utah - Freshmen

14-9
7.3 MIN - 2.1 PTS - 1.1 REB - 1.1 AST - 0.7 TO
45% FG - 50% 3P - 72% FT

Once the Utes hit conference play they have been on a role. Treacy has been a solid bench player for them.

Kyle Kappe - SG Stanford - Freshmen

15-7
27.2 MIN - 11.0 PTS - 2.1 REB - 2.5 AST - 0.9 STL - 4.4 TO
46% FG - 47% 3P - 56% FT

Kappe has shown that he belongs in the starting lineup for Stanford as his scoring average has gone up since they hit conference play.

Brenden Eckberg - C Oklahoma State - Freshmen

5-12
11.8 MIN - 5.4 PTS - 1.8 REB - 0.9 AST - 0.1 BLK - 1.0 TO
50% FG - 50% 3P - 81% FT

It's been a struggle for Oklahoma State this season. Eckberg has played well when called upon.

Rick Jolley - PF Mississippi - Freshmen

18-2 - #17
22.5 MIN - 7.5 PTS - 6.2 REB - 1.7 AST - 0.8 STL - 0.2 BLK - 1.7 TO
48% FG - 49% FT

Ole Miss has probably been the season's surprise team with their 18-2 start. Jolley continues to get big minutes off the bench despite some of his numbers slipping a little bit.

Dylan Airhart - SG Indiana - Freshmen

18-5 - #9
28.8 MIN - 9.9 PTS - 2.6 REB - 2.3 AST - 1.0 STL - 3.0 TO
43% FG - 45% 3P - 92% FT

Indiana has been impressive and Airhart has played very well. Definitely a candidate for Big Ten Freshmen of the Year.

Thomas Nights - SG Syracuse - Freshmen

12-10
30.7 MIN - 6.9 PTS - 3.5 REB - 2.5 AST - 2.0 STL - 2.8 TO
49% FG - 30% 3P - 80% FT

Nights continues to be a solid contributor for Syracuse. He hasn't had any big scoring games yet but his shooting remains solid.

Tim Lucas - SF Kansas - Redshirted

Stringer Bell - SF Kentucky - Redshirted

We're going to struggle since we're so young, but next year and the year after... watch out, cuz the Buckeyes are going to be tearing some people up. I'm hoping NIT this year.
