FBCB/FBPB Interactive Player Dynasty- Season 7 (2020-2021)
With no recruits again this year, let's get right to the depth charts. We have 11 players that have already used their redshirt, so let's start with them.
SF Chester Smith (Maryland)- Finally, finally, Chester is getting his chance. He is listed as the starting SF for the upcoming season. After all the battles he had with Coach Turgeon, he's finally getting his shot. PG Al Mighty (Houston)- No surprise here, Al has been a starter for the last couple seasons, and he'll start at PG again this season. SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV)- Ricardo is again slotted to be the starting SG for the Rebels. SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- Jack is listed as the starting SF for the Orange. C Ralph King (Duke)- Ralph is listed 6th on the depth chart. He'll get his minutes easily. PG Benton Gale (High Point)- Benton will get his shot this year it looks like, he's projected as the starting PG for the Panthers. PF Bam Jamison (Grambling)- Originally, Bam was down on the depth chart, but thanks to a couple academic suspension, Bam is now projected as the starting PF! SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- Pitt is stacked, so Qwikshot is listed 7th on the depth chart. He's still projected to get lots of minutes though. PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State)- Mike could get some minutes this season, he's listed 7th on the depth chart. PF Path Twelve (Oregon)- It's 50/50 whether Path will be a starter or not. Right now he's listed 6th on the depth chart, but it's changed twice already since I've tested it. Either way, he'll play a lot. PF Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- Erik may regret his decision to transfer to UNC. He's listed 9th on the depth chart. Unfortunately, he's already used his redshirt. Now we have 8 players that still have their redshirt. Let's look at them. C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- Rudy will be the starting C for the 49ers. As he is one of my players, he'll get his senior season over with. C Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- Ariel is listed 6th on the depth chart. Probably no reason to redshirt him, but it's not my call. DavidCorperial? What do you say? SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall)- Thomas has been slotted as the starting SF, so no reason to redshirt him. But it's your call StLee. SG Jaybard Riley (Michigan State)- Jaybard has to have a chip on his shoulder for not getting any national awards last season. Of course he's projected as the starting SG. So Neuqua, I assume he's playing? PG Cameron Blodgett (Duke)- Projected as the starting PG, no reason to redshirt him, but it's up to Grover. PG Jackson Pace (Purdue)- Jackson is listed as the starting SG, so I doubt he's going to redshirt. What do you think cmp? PF Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- Jawouk is listed 8th on the depth chart, only because Georgetown is deep in the post this season. Odds are he'll still see decent minutes, but I'd at least consider a redshirt for Jawouk if I were you britrock88. It's your call though. Either way it would be a good decision. C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State)- Tim is slotted as the starting PF so no reason to redshirt him, but it's up to you rjolley. Being it's the holidays still, with new years coming up, I'll give everybody until sometime next week to make a decision, then I'll get going. |

I'm tempted to redshirt to see if he develops more, but let him play.

Still waiting for StLee, Grover, cmp, and britrock88 to make a decision on their players. I'd like to get this started as soon as possible, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday. If I don't hear from you guys, I'll just assume you are ok with your players playing. Thanks.

I am going to try and get through this season a little quicker, because I've got 6 new recruits waiting to get in next season. So here's the situation.
I have sent a pm to britrock88 regarding his player. As for cmp, Grover, and StLee, it's been a while since any of them have been on the boards, so I'm going to play their players. If I haven't heard from britrock88 by tomorrow night, I'll play his player too, because I want to get this started tomorrow night and bust out a few weeks of it this weekend. My plan is to try and get through December by the end of the weekend. For those that haven't been on in a while, I'm still going to keep their players in it, but that does bring up an interesting dilemma.. how long should I wait in between seasons for a poster to get back on the boards? For instance, we've got some in both my interactive player dynasty and coaches dynasty that haven't been on the boards in weeks, maybe even months. Do I cut their player or coach out assuming they won't be back on anytime soon? Or do I go ahead and keep them in, even though they are nowhere to be found to see updates on their players? What say you guys? |

Bafou got 18mpg as the #8 player last season... but he benefited from Ginsberg being suspended for the second half of the season. Eh, I'll roll the dice and hope he gets rotation-type minutes again.

Since I've heard from britrock88, I'm going to get this one started tonight and start the coaches dynasty tomorrow, so look for some more preseason stuff to begin season 7 tonight, plus an update on our 2 pro players!

Nov. 8-15, 2020
To make things go quicker, since a handful of our teams didn't play this week, I'm only going to cover the ones that did. RS SR SF Chester Smith (#21 Maryland) -- 1-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/15/20- Philadelphia Invitational First Round vs. (8) Ohio (W 85-72), started game, 15 mins played, 1 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled Out.) Not a good starting debut for Chester, who fouled out playing just 15 minutes. He'll have to do better. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 1-0, 0-0 Mountain West. 11/15/20- Top of the Globe Invitational First Round vs. (8) Lipscomb (W 73-56), started game, 25 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. Nice start to the senior season for Ricardo, who had a nice shooting game. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (#20 Syracuse) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/12/20- Preseason NIT First Round vs. (16) Robert Morris (W 67-49), started game, 35 mins played, 22 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). 11/14/20- Preseason NIT Quarterfinals vs. (9) Hofstra (W 79-74), started game, 37 mins played, 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals. What a week for Jack, who is making a strong case for some national awards right off the bat. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 0-1, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/10/20- GDS Classic First Round vs. (11) Vermont (L 66-65, OT), started game, 39 mins played, 20 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. Thomas did his part in this one, but the rest of his team didn't. Could be a long season for Marshall. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#4 Michigan State) -- 3-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/8/20- Coaches Invitational First Round vs. (16) Samford (W 87-43), started game, 36 mins played, 18 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 block. 11/9/20- Coaches Invitational Quarterfinals vs. (9) Detroit (W 81-75), started game, 36 mins played, 16 points, 1 rebound, 9 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals. 11/15/20- Coaches Invitational Semifinals vs. (13) Murray State (W 79-67), started game, 36 mins played, 28 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 3 steals, (POTG). Jaybard is filling a different role right now, as he's been shifted to the starting PG. In the first 2 games, he filled that role well with 9 assists a game. In his third game, he went back to his scoring, earning a POTG. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 0-1, 0-0 Big 12. 11/15/20- Paradise Shootout First Round vs. (3) #11 Wake Forest (L 93-81), came off bench, 6 mins played, 4 points, 1 block, 1 steal. Just 1 game this week for the Cats, and Mike took advantage of his short time. He's just biding his time right now. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 2-0, 0-0 Pac Ten. 11/10/20- GDS Classic First Round vs. (12) Indiana State (W 73-72, OT), came off bench, 22 mins played, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. 11/12/20- GDS Classic Quarterfinals vs. (13) Montana (W 59-53), came off bench, 17 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, (Fouled Out). Not the best week for Path off the bench, who fouled out in 1 of his 2 games. SO C Tim Sheppard (#7 Mississippi State) -- 1-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/15/20- Youth Invitational First Round vs. (3) Florida State (W 94-58), started game, 19 mins played, 4 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Good game for Tim to begin his sophomore campaign. While the numbers aren't overwhelming, 11 boards is an encouraging start. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#16 North Carolina) -- 3-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/8/20- Coaches Invitational First Round vs. (15) UC Irvine (W 89-59), came off bench, 4 mins played, 1 rebound. 11/9/20- Coaches Invitational Quarterfinals vs. (7) Iowa State (W 89-46), came off bench, 2 mins played, 1 rebound. 11/15/20- Coaches Invitational Semifinals vs. (3) UConn (W 74-66), came off bench, 1 min played. It's not a good sign when in your first 3 games, your minutes are cut in half from 1st to 2nd game, then cut in half again from 2nd to 3rd game. Erik may be wasting a season here. Code:

We debut at #7 after not being ranked to end last season? Did Miss State pull in a great class?

Actually, Miss State didn't even pull in a recruit last season, as crazy as that sounds. I have no idea why they were ranked so high. The rankings on this game leave a lot to be desired sometimes. |

1 feature game to tell you about, and it was a tournament championship. 11/16/20- Coaches Invitational Championship- (2) #9 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) vs. (1) #2 Michigan State (Jaybard Riley) -- A classic if ever there was one. Neither team led by more than 7, and neither team shot especially well. 1 point separated the 2 teams. Final Score: #2 Michigan State- 70, #9 North Carolina- 69 Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 3 mins played, 1 point. Jaybard Riley (Michigan State)- started game, 33 mins played, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (#20 Maryland) -- 2-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/17/20- Philadelphia Invitational Semifinal vs. (4) Gonzaga (L 76-74), started game, 31 mins played, 3 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 11/19/20- Philadelphia Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (7) South Alabama (W 84-64), started game, 31 mins played, 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist. Chester is getting better every game, and with more playing time, he'll have a heck of a senior season. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 1-0, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/22/20- Orlando Classic First Round vs. (8) James Madison (W 68-52), started game, 33 mins played, 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Decent game for Al to begin the season. Fouls were an issue though, he had 4. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 1-2, 0-0 Mountain West. 11/17/20- Top of the Globe Invitational Semifinal vs. (5) San Diego (L 73-64), started game, 27 mins played, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. 11/19/20- Top of the Globe Invitational 3rd Place Game vs. (3) Nebraska (L 79-74), started game, 29 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. Offensively, Ricardo is doing ok, but he's not getting the steals defensively that he's used to getting. Shooting wise, he's struggling a bit. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 1-2, 0-0 Big West. 11/16/20 vs. Washington (L 62-52), started game, 30 mins played, 15 points, 9 rebounds, (Fouled Out). 11/19/20 at Cal State Bakersfield (W 70-64), started game, 35 mins played, 8 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists. 11/22/20 vs. San Jose State (L 71-52), started game, 28 mins played, 17 points, 3 rebounds. A little inconsistency for Rudy, some games he rebounds well, other games he scores well. He can't seem to put both together. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (#16 Syracuse) -- 2-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/21/20- Preseason NIT Semifinal vs. (5) #12 Georgia Tech (L 65-56), started game, 36 mins played, 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. Jack was the only double figure scorer in the semifinal loss, a sign that he may be asked to do more than he's capable of this season. RS JR C Ralph King (#1 Duke) -- 3-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/19/20- Maui Shootout First Round vs. (8) College of Charleston (W 76-65), came off bench, 15 mins played, 7 points, 1 assist. 11/20/20- Maui Shootout Semifinal vs. (4) Ole Miss (W 86-77), came off bench, 24 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. 11/21/20- Maui Shootout Championship vs. (3) Oklahoma (W 77-76), came off bench, 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Ralph finally had a decent game in the Maui championship against Oklahoma, now he needs to build on that. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 0-2, 0-0 Big South. 11/18/20 at Canisius (L 94-76), started game, 32 mins played, 9 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal. 11/21/20 at Virginia Tech (L 69-61), started game, 33 mins played, 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist. Benton is filling the starting PG role nicely so far, but it's his rebounding that has his coach in awe right now. He had 7 boards in both games. Nice! RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 0-2, 0-0 SWAC. 11/18/20 vs. New Orleans (L 79-75), started game, 21 mins played, 5 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). 11/20/20 at #6 Kentucky (L 74-64), started game, 30 mins played, 8 points, 1 rebound. Bam is back to doing what he does best, fouling. He had 8 in the 2 games this week. If he wants to produce, he's got to learn how to play without fouling. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#25 Georgetown) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/18/20 vs. Valparaiso (W 80-74), came off bench, 26 mins played, 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. 11/22/20- Anaheim Invitational First Round vs. (8) Pacific (W 77-70), came off bench, 23 mins played, 4 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist. Good to see Ariel back in the rotation, he wasn't punished for his suspension last season, and he's already producing with 11 boards against Pacific. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 0-1, 0-0 Conference USA. No games this week for Thomas and the Thundering Herd. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#2 Michigan State) -- 4-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/16/20- Coaches Invitational Championship vs. (2) #9 North Carolina- feature game, highlighted above. Jaybard had a decent game against Carolina this week, but he can do better. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#14 Pittsburgh) -- 1-2, 0-0 Big East. 11/19/20- Maui Shootout First Round vs. (7) Santa Clara (W 79-75), came off bench, 19 mins played, 15 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 blocks. 11/20/20- Maui Shootout Semifinal vs. (3) Oklahoma (L 88-86), came off bench,22 mins played, 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 11/21/20- Maui Shootout 3rd Place Game vs. (4) Ole Miss (L 92-71), came off bench, 19 mins played, 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Great, great week off the bench for Qwikshot. If he puts up those kind of numbers off the bench every game, he'll be starting soon. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 1-2, 0-0 Big 12. 11/17/20- Paradise Shootout Consolation vs. (7) Arkansas (L 62-36), came off bench, 7 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. 11/19/20- Paradise Shootout 7th Place Game vs. (8) UL Lafayette (W 81-77), came off bench, 6 mins played, no other stats. Mike is shooting terribly to start the season, but in limited minutes it's understandable. Hopefully he'll get it together. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 2-2, 0-0 Pac 10. 11/19/20- GDS Classic Semifinal vs. (1) #4 Boston College (L 82-58), came off bench, 16 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 11/22/20 at Gonzaga (L 90-85), came off bench, 28 mins played, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). Not a good week for Path who fouled out at Gonzaga and had 4 fouls against BC. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#1 Duke) -- 3-0, 0-0 ACC. 11/19/20- Maui Shootout First Round vs. (8) College of Charleston (W 76-65), started game, 20 mins played, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. 11/20/20- Maui Shootout Semifinal vs. (4) Ole Miss (W 86-77), started game, 33 mins played, 19 points, 1 rebound, 8 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 11/21/20- Maui Shootout Championship vs. (3) Oklahoma (W 77-76), started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. Nice game for Cameron against Ole Miss, but he struggled a bit in the other 2 games. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 3-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/17/20 at Illinois-Chicago (W 74-69), started game, 30 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, (Fouled Out.) 11/20/20 vs. Kent State (W 90-87), started game, 37 mins played, 35 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 11/22/20 at SE Missouri State (W 78-64), started game, 36 mins played, 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists. Jackson went off in his last 2 games of the week, the 35 point game against Kent State being a career high. Expect more of that. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#25 Georgetown) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/18/20 vs. Valparaiso (W 80-74), came off bench, 3 mins played, 1 rebound. 11/22/20- Anaheim Invitational First Round vs. (8) Pacific (W 77-70), came off bench, 7 mins played, 2 points. Ouch! If this is any indication of how it's gonna be all season, Jawouk may have wished he'd redshirted. Right now, his only hope seems to be that 1 or even 2 of the bigs in front of him gets hurt or suspended. SO C Tim Sheppard (#7 Mississippi State) -- 2-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/17/20- Youth Invitational Championship vs. (4) Rutgers (W 89-82), started game, 25 mins played, 5 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Not the greatest game for Tim, but he's a solid player and he'll bounce back. The 8 rebounds was nice. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#9 North Carolina) -- 3-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/16/20- Coaches Invitational Championship vs. (1) #2 Michigan State- feature game, highlighted above. Pretty uneventful game for Erik, who seems like he's going to struggle to find time at UNC. Code:

2 feature games to tell you about this week: 11/26/20- Long Beach State (Rudy Arellano) @ Purdue (Jackson Pace) -- A tightly contested game in the first half, but Purdue blew it open a bit in the second half, holding LBSU to just 32.7% shooting. Final Score: Purdue- 57, Long Beach State- 47 Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- started game, 34 mins played, 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. Jackson Pace (Purdue)- started game, 37 mins played, 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists. 11/28/20- #21 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) @ High Point (Benton Gale) -- Give High Point credit in this one, they didn't play bad at all, but Carolina hit just a few more shots while attempting a few less. Final Score: #21 North Carolina- 82, High Point- 71 Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 5 mins played, 1 rebound. Benton Gale (High Point)- came off bench, 32 mins played, 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. Now on to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 3-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/27/20 at St. Francis-PA (W 87-40), started game, 30 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. 1 game this week, and it was a nice one for Chester who continues to improve. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 3-0, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/24/20- Orlando Classic Semifinal vs. (5) Davidson (W 93-91, OT), started game, 38 mins played, 21 points, 5 rebounds, 14 assists, (Fouled Out). 11/25/20- Orlando Classic Championship vs. (6) Illinois-Chicago (W 84-65), started game, 24 mins played, 11 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 block. Tough week foul wise for Al, who had 9 of a possible 10 fouls. The 14 assists is a career high. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 3-2, 0-0 Mountain West. 11/23/20 vs. Presbyterian (W 77-51), started game, 25 mins played, 21 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. 11/27/20 vs. Bryant (W 59-51), started game, 32 mins played, 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. Nice scoring game for Ricardo against Presbyterian, but he didn't really have it against Bryant. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 1-4, 0-0 Big West. 11/26/20 at Purdue- feature game, highlighted above. 11/29/20 at #5 California (L 71-49), started game, 31 mins played, 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Not the greatest week for Rudy, who like many of our guys, battled foul trouble. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 3-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/29/20 vs. Holy Cross (W 75-47), started game, 33 mins played, 8 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Tough one for Jack scoring wise, but he led the team in boards this week. RS JR C Ralph King (#1 Duke) -- 4-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/24/20 at UCLA (L 76-68), came off bench, 25 mins played, 7 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals. 11/27/20 vs. Fairfield (W 80-68), came off bench, 22 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal. Good week for Ralph, as the 13 rebounds at UCLA are a season high. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 1-3, 0-0 Big South. 11/25/20 at Winthrop (W 86-79), started game, 33 mins played, 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists. 11/28/20 vs. #21 North Carolina- feature game, highlighted above. No luck for Benton against North Carolina, as he was just 1-16 from the field, but a heck of a game at Winthrop. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 1-4, 0-0 SWAC. 11/23/20 at Louisiana Tech (L 75-72, OT), started game, 35 mins played, 20 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). 11/26/20 at #17 Kansas (W 85-77), started game, 29 mins played, 1 point, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 11/28/20 at #15 Illinois (L 77-54), started game, 26 mins played, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. What a game for Bam at LA Tech. It's not often a player from the losing team gets POTG, but well deserved. And how about his team going to Lawrence and knocking off the Jayhawks? Not a bad week overall, sans the Illinois game. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#11 Georgetown) -- 4-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/24/20- Anaheim Invitational Semifinal vs. (4) #24 Clemson (W 82-70), came off bench, 28 mins played, 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 11/25/20- Anaheim Invitational Championship vs. (6) East Tennessee State (W 72-50), came off bench, 21 mins played, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. A decent week off the bench for Ariel, but he still needs to find his shot. No reason not to score at least a point against East Tennessee. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 1-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/25/20 at Western Illinois (W 93-68), started game, 18 mins played, 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists. 11/27/20 at Bethune Cookman (L 75-67), started game, 31 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals. Foul trouble hampered Thomas at Western Illinois but he picked it up against Bethune Cookman. Terrible loss for the team though. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#2 Michigan State) -- 7-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/24/20 vs. Baylor (W 68-59), started game, 36 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists. 11/26/20 vs. #16 Memphis (W 86-60), started game, 29 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. 11/29/20 at Navy (W 80-55), started game, 35 mins played, 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists. We haven't seen the best of Jaybard yet in his senior season. Not even close. His numbers aren't bad, but not what we expect. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh) -- 2-2, 0-0 Big East. 11/26/20 vs. Buffalo (W 108-103), came off bench, 10 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds. The positive for Qwikshot is he had 8 points in 10 mins. The negative: 4 fouls in 10 minutes. That is going to be an issue. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 1-4, 0-0 Big 12. 11/24/20 vs. #23 Iowa (L 66-56), came off bench, 5 mins played, 1 rebound, 1 steal. 11/27/20 at Creighton (L 78-71), came off bench, 19 mins played, 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. We may see more of Mike if he can stay on the floor, but again, 4 fouls in 19 minutes is not gonna cut it. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 2-3, 0-0 Pac 10. 11/26/20 at #13 Oklahoma State (L 81-80), came off bench, 19 mins played, 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block. Again, it comes down to foul trouble for one of our players. Another who had 4 fouls in 19 minutes. A couple more minutes on the court might have been the difference. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#1 Duke) -- 4-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/24/20 at UCLA (L 76-68), started game, 30 mins played, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists. 11/27/20 vs. Fairfield (W 80-68), started game, 33 mins played, 5 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists. Nice game for Cameron against Fairfield, he did a little bit of everything. Tough game at UCLA for him and the team. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 4-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/26/20 vs. Long Beach State- feature game, highlighted above. Good week, good game for Jackson, who was 2 rebounds short of a double-double. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#11 Georgetown) -- 4-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/24/20- Anaheim Invitational Semifinal vs. (4) Clemson (W 82-70), came off bench, 16 mins played, 4 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 11/25/20- Anaheim Invitational Championship vs. (6) East Tennessee State (W 72-50), came off bench, 5 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block. Jawouk benefited from foul trouble on the front line against Clemson, but was back to short minutes against East Tennessee State. He did play well when he was out there though. SO C Tim Sheppard (#4 Mississippi State) -- 3-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/23/20 vs. South Alabama (W 82-57), started game, 17 mins played, 2 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Short minutes for Tim who battled foul trouble, a recurring theme. Not a bad game on the boards, but he was just 1-7 shooting. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#21 North Carolina) -- 5-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/24/20 vs. Manhattan (W 79-36), came off bench, 2 mins played. 11/28/20 at High Point- feature game, highlighted above. Unbelievable that in a blowout game, Erik couldn't log more than 2 mins. Gonna be a long season for the Flame man. Code:

Pro Update through Nov. 30th, 2020
We've got 2 guys in the NBA to keep an eye on. NBA Rookie PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons jumped out to an 8-6 record to end the month of November, leading the Central Division. Jace was a big part of that, averaging 33.4 minuted, 17.5 points, and 8.6 rebounds a game. He had a career high 31 points against Memphis on November 4th and a career high 13 rebounds against Portland on November 19th. He already has 3 POTG awards in his rookie season. His pro career is off to a great start. NBA Rookie PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers) The Trailblazers have limped to a 4-9 start, last in the Northwest Division. So far Ivan has played in just 2 games, averaging 9 minutes and 4 points as well as 3.5 rebounds a game. The reason he's only played in 2 games you ask? He's also played 5 games in the D-League, averaging 30 minutes a game, 19.2 points and 8.8 rebounds a game. Unfortunately, he just hasn't translated those numbers to the NBA yet, as he's been back and forth 3 times already in his rookie season. Expect him to see some more time in the D-League before it's over. |

Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2020
No feature games this week, so let's jump into the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (#18 Maryland) -- 6-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/30/20 at UCLA (W 92-74), started game, 22 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. 12/3/20 at UConn (W 85-75), started game, 24 mins played, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal, (POTG). 12/6/20 vs. Arkansas (W 63-53), started game, 34 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. Solid week for Chester, who earned his first POTG award this week. RS SR PG Al Mighty (#21 Houston) -- 4-0, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/3/20 vs. South Alabama (W 69-50), started game, 25 mins played, 20 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 2 was the number for Al this week, as he had 2 of pretty much everything, including fouls. His 20 points was good enough for a POTG though. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 3-4, 0-0 Mountain West. 11/30/20 at UC Davis (L 64-53), started game, 32 mins played, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists. 12/6/20 at Maine (L 69-67), started game, 31 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Ricardo has had better weeks, and so have the Rebels. 2 embarrassing losses to lower level teams. Ugh! SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 1-4, 0-0 Big West. No games this week for Rudy and the 49ers. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (#24 Syracuse) -- 4-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/4/20 vs. #23 Indiana (W 54-52), started game, 35 mins played, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. 12/6/20 vs. Stanford (L 71-69), started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). Nice double-double for Jack in the loss to Stanford. RS JR C Ralph King (#5 Duke) -- 6-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/1/20 vs. Campbell (W 87-75), came off bench, 23 mins played, 5 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 block. 12/3/20 vs. Austin Peay (W 94-84), came off bench, 22 mins played, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Nice week off the bench for Ralph, as he got a lot of his points from the free throw line. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 3-4, 0-0 Big South. 11/30/20 at William @ Mary (W 86-73, started game, 34 mins played, 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 12/4/20 vs. Hampton (L 100-90), started game, 26 mins played, 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, (Fouled Out). 12/6/20 vs. Morgan State (W 77-73), started game, 32 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, (POTG). Not a bad week for Benton who kept improving his scoring and picked up a POTG award. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 2-5, 0-0 SWAC. 11/30/20 at Southern Illinois (W 75-67), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 12/5/20 at Florida (L 73-61), came off bench, 16 mins played, 6 points, 7 rebounds. Bam was relegated to bench duty this week, not sure why as he's not playing bad. He had a nice game at Florida. Perhaps he'll continue to put up good numbers in short minutes and earn that starting spot back. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#7 Georgetown) -- 5-0, 0-0 Big East. 12/2/20 at Illinois (W 77-57), came off bench, 23 mins played, 8 points, 4 rebounds. Just 1 game this week for Ariel and the Hoyas. Foul trouble is still an issue though, he had 3 in this one. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 1-3, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/30/20 at Akron (L 71-41), started game, 9 mins played, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal. Just the 1 game for Thomas this week, and it was a game he'd like to forget. Held scoreless, missed all 3 of his shots, had 4 fouls, just not a good effort. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 8-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/4/20 vs. Illinois State (W 112-87), started game, 33 mins played, 19 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks. Another team that just had 1 game this week, but what a game it was for Jaybard. Just a couple rebounds and assists away from a triple-double. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh) -- 4-2, 0-0 Big East. 11/30/20 vs. Mercer (W 85-58), came off bench, 19 mins played, 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 12/2/20 at UT Martin (W 82-74), came off bench, 15 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Qwikshot has had better weeks coming off the bench, his shot just wasn't there this week. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 2-5, 0-0 Big 12. 12/2/20 vs. Drake (W 67-59), came off bench, 9 mins played, 1 rebound. 12/4/20 vs. Delaware State (L 90-80), came off bench, 23 mins played, 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. A little bit of a bittersweet game for Mike against Delaware State. First, the team lost, and second, even though the 13 points is a career high, it took him 14 shots to do it. He was just 4-14 from the field and a dismal 1-9 from three point land. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 3-4, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/1/20 vs. Seattle (W 81-61), came off bench, 27 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, 2 steals. 12/5/20 at Oklahoma (L 76-54), came off bench, 21 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. The defense was there for Path, but so were the fouls: 4 fouls in each game. He'll have to learn how to play that pressure defense without being too aggressive. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#5 Duke) -- 6-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/1/20 vs. Campbell (W 87-75), started game, 33 mins played, 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, (POTG). 12/3/20 vs. Austin Peay (W 94-84), started game, 33 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). Great week for Cameron, who takes home 2 POTG awards and just a little shy of either a double-double or even a triple-double. SO PG Jackson Pace (#25 Purdue) -- 6-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/30/20 vs. Fairfield (W 105-87), started game, 35 mins played, 32 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (POTG). 12/3/20 at #8 Villanova (W 60-57), started game, 37 mins played, 23 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, (POTG). What a week for Jackson, who picks up 2 POTG awards and averaged 29 points a game this week. His 35 points against Fairfield is a career high. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#7 Georgetown) -- 5-0, 0-0 Big East. 12/2/20 at Illinois (W 77-57), came off bench, 7 mins played, 1 rebound. Nothing doing for Jawouk this week, who did nothing to prove he deserved more minutes consistently. Look for his minutes to go up and down all season. SO C Tim Sheppard (#4 Mississippi State) -- 4-2, 0-0 SEC. 11/30/20 vs. UL Monroe (W 78-63), started game, 29 mins played, 8 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. 12/4/20 at Southeast Missouri State (L 87-83), started game, 21 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals. 12/6/20 vs. Murray State (L 68-57), started game, 29 mins played, 7 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists. Horrible week for the Bulldogs who lost 2 games to inferior competition. Tim had a decent week, almost pulling a double-double against Murray State and UL Monroe. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#10 North Carolina) -- 6-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/30/20 vs. Morgan State (W 92-76), came off bench, 10 mins played, 3 points, 1 assist. Better minutes for Erik, who logged 10, but he didn't do much with those minutes. Code:

Grambling needs to start Bam more. Give him time, and he'll lead the Tigers to the NCAAs!

Apologies for the lack of updates this week, I've been battling an illness that caused me to spend some time in the hospital, but I'm back home now and ready to resume this dynasty and all the others.
Dec. 7-13, 2020 No feature games this week, so let's get to the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (#13 Maryland) -- 6-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/12/20 vs. Illinois-Chicago (L 99-91), started game, 32 mins played, 17 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist. Another nice scoring game for Chester, and he did well on the boards too. RS SR PG Al Mighty (#20 Houston) -- 5-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/7/20 vs. Missouri (L 77-64), started game, 36 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. 12/10/20 at #14 Alabama (L 73-60), started game, 31 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal. 12/13/20 vs. Rice (W 90-83), started game, 38 mins played, 23 points, 3 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). What a finish to the week for Al, and they need that kind of performance from him every game. The 14 assists is a career high. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 5-4, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/8/20 at Bethune Cookman (W 75-61), started game, 28 mins played, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. 12/11/20 vs. Southern Utah (W 72-57), started game, 26 mins played, 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. An ok week for Ricardo. We've seen better, but at least his team won both games this week. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 3-4, 0-0 Big West. 12/8/20 vs. New Mexico (W 65-62), started game, 23 mins played, 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/13/20 at San Francisco (W 71-59), DNP (Injury). Tough break for Rudy, who tore a ligament against New Mexico, he's out for a good 5 weeks, which means he should return for the thick of conference play. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 5-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/12/20 at Dartmouth (W 87-49), started game, 32 mins played, 7 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists. Just the one game for Jack and the Orange this week. Jack didn't have a great shooting night, but was just 3 points and 3 assists away from a triple-double. RS JR C Ralph King (#2 Duke) -- 6-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/7/20 vs. Air Force (L 83-73), came off bench, 17 mins played, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Nice game off the bench for Ralph in the lone game of the week, even if the Blue Devils did get upset. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 3-6, 0-0 Big South. 12/11/20 at South Alabama (L 81-73), started game, 34 mins played, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/13/20 vs. North Carolina A&T (L 92-89), started game, 27 mins played, 4 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 block. Benton didn't do much this week, but he did have a block in each game, pretty rare for a PG. He's still struggling to find his shot, but at least he's taking care of the ball: just 1 turnover this week. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 2-7, 0-0 SWAC. 12/8/20 vs. Rice (L 61-38), came off bench, 26 mins played, 4 points, 4 rebounds. 12/11/20 vs. Centenary (L 76-66), came off bench, 24 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. No blocks for Bam this week, but still decent minutes off the bench. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#5 Georgetown) -- 7-0, 0-0 Big East. 12/8/20 vs. Delaware (W 80-74), came off bench, 20 mins played, 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, (POTG). 12/11/20 vs. Washington State (W 58-43), came off bench, 18 mins played, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Nice game against Delaware for Ariel, coming off the bench to get POTG, but he pretty much did nothing against Wazzou. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 4-3, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/7/20 vs. Northwestern (W 62-55), started game, 35 mins played, 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 12/9/20 vs. Eastern Illinois (W 75-60), started game, 33 mins played, 11 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (Double-double). 12/13/20 at Robert Morris (W 72-64), started game, 36 mins played, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. Heck of a week for Thomas, who had a season high 27 points, against Northwestern and a double-double against Eastern Illinois. They need him to keep putting up those kind of numbers. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 10-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/7/20 vs. Illinois-Chicago (W 90-63), started game, 22 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, (Fouled Out). 12/12/20 at Wagner (W 88-67), started game, 35 mins played, 24 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, (Double-Double). Jaybard struggled against Illinois-Chicago, but got it together for a nice double-double at Wagner. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh) -- 6-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/8/20 vs. Loyola-IL (W 93-61), came off bench, 22 mins played, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. 12/11/20 vs. James Madison (W 93-66), came off bench, 7 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. Not sure why the limited minutes for Qwikshot against James Madison, he seems to be producing nicely whenever he's in the game. He'll keep working hard to get his minutes though. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 4-6, 0-0 Big 12. 12/8/20 vs. UMKC (L 77-71), came off bench, 10 mins played, 6 points, 1 rebound. 12/10/20 at Stephen F. Austin (W 81-72), came off bench, 12 mins played, 7 points. 12/13/20 vs. Nevada (W 72-57), came off bench, 12 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. Nice to see Mike getting increased minutes now, and he seems to get his share of points when he's in. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 4-5, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/9/20 at Georgia State (L 79-64), came off bench, 23 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. 12/12/20 vs. Hartford (W 75-63), came off bench, 26 mins played, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Nice week off the bench for Path, 3 boards shy of a double-double against Hartford. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#2 Duke) -- 6-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/7/20 vs. Air Force (L 83-73), started game, 33 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebound, 6 assists, 3 steals. Cameron had 4 turnovers against Air Force, kind of a high number for a starting PG. Coach K is demanding he take better care of the ball. SO PG Jackson Pace (#18 Purdue) -- 6-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/9/20 at Xavier (L 68-44), started game, 34 mins played, 8 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists. 12/11/20 at #7 Texas (L 91-68), started game, 33 mins played, 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Not a bad week for Jackson, but he's also gotta work on the turnovers, he had 9 this week. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#5 Georgetown) -- 7-0, 0-0 Big East. 12/8/20 vs. Delaware (W 80-74), came off bench, 11 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 12/11/20 vs. Washington State (W 58-43), came off bench, 7 points, played, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Jawouk isn't seeing the minutes he saw last season, no doubt due to the return of Ariel. SO C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 6-2, 0-0 SEC. 12/8/20 vs. Rider (W 70-61), started game, 29 mins played, 7 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/12/20 vs. New Orleans (W 70-44), started game, 14 mins played, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. While Tim didn't foul out this week, he did have 4 fouls against New Orleans, but still pulled down 9 boards. He'll be huge on the boards if he can stay on the floor. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#8 North Carolina) -- 7-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/9/20 vs. James Madison (W 65-41), came off bench, 2 mins played. Erik might as well not even played this week, as he logged just 2 minutes in UNC's only game. Code:

Again, no feature games this week, so on to the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 7-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/16/20 vs. James Madison (W 84-80), started game, 32 mins played, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. Horrible shooting in the lone game of the week for Chester. It took him 16 shots to get 17 points. 26 shots, actually, if you count the 10 free throws he also had. He'll have to do better. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 7-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/16/20 vs. Centenary (W 81-54), started game, 36 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 block. 12/20/20 at St. Joseph's (W 74-63), started game, 24 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 block. Al continues to impress with his assist totals as he's up over 7 a game now. He's taking care of the ball too. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 6-5, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/16/20 vs. Alabama (L 71-38), started game, 28 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 12/19/20 vs. Brown (W 68-60), started game, 29 mins played, 21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, (POTG). Ricardo got it going scoring wise against Brown, earning the POTG. He needs more performances like that if he's going to get drafted. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- injured -- 4-5, 0-0 Big West. 12/16/20 at USC (L 68-57). 12/20/20 at Pepperdine (W 50-43). RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 7-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/16/20 vs. Akron (W 80-49), started game, 33 mins played, 9 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/19/20 vs. Davidson (W 83-80), started game, 26 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Nice week for Jack, who had a season high in rebounds with his 13 against Akron. RS JR C Ralph King (#9 Duke) -- 7-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/14/20 vs. Davidson (W 91-75), came off bench, 13 mins played, 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2 steals. Not much happening for Ralph this game, he did hit 2 of his shots and didn't foul at all, so that's good. Light on the minutes though, 13 isn't much. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 4-6, 0-0 Big South. 12/16/20 at UNC Greensboro (W 82-80), started game, 34 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Horrible game for Benton, who made just 1-9 shots and turned it over 4 times. He's got to get better, he's struggling a bit right now. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 2-8, 0-0 SWAC. 12/17/20- Las Vegas Shootout First Round vs. (1) #7 Oklahoma State (L 73-65), started game, 28 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Bam has been in and out of the starting lineup all season, and this week he was back starting. He rewarded his coach by not committing a foul all game. Big news for him. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#2 Georgetown) -- 8-1, 0-0 Big East. 12/14/20 vs. Detroit (W 87-59), came off bench, 8 mins played, 2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/17/20 vs. Western Illinois (L 87-83), came off bench, 26 mins played, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Offense hasn't been Ariel's strong suit right now, and his minutes were way limited against Detroit as he had 4 fouls. At least he stayed on the floor more against Western Illinois. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 5-4, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/17/20 at George Mason (L 83-59), started game, 20 mins played, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. 12/20/20 at Furman (W 90-65), started game, 27 mins played, 16 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Thomas had a much better game at Furman. Foul trouble limited him at George Mason. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 12-0, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/17/20 vs. Manhattan (W 87-63), started game, 32 mins played, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block. 12/20/20 at #20 Louisville (W 96-68), started game, 34 mins played, 15 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (Double-double). Can't believe Jaybard didn't get POTG at Louisville, but there was another guy that had a double-double. However, 3 rebounds short of a triple-double is hard to ignore. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- injured -- 8-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/15/20 at Duquesne (W 84-71) 12/20/20 vs. Albany (W 85-64) Qwikshot actually broke his finger during the 12/11 game against James Madison, but I just noticed until now. As of the end of this week, he's day to day, so I expect him to play next week. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 5-6, 0-0 Big 12. 12/19/20 vs. #25 Butler (W 63-60), came off bench, 6 mins played, 3 points, 2 steals. Mike was a huge spark plug in this one. Even though he only played 6 minutes, he had a big three pointer and a couple big steals leading the Wildcats to the upset win. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 5-6, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/14/20 at Southern Utah (L 74-71), came off bench, 22 mins played, 9 points, 5 rebounds, (Fouled Out.) 12/18/20 vs. Idaho (W 90-72), came off bench, 25 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. Path needed to be on the floor longer at Southern Utah. He was having a heck of a game, and a few more minutes from him might have resulted in a win. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#9 Duke) -- 7-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/14/20 vs. Davidson (W 91-75), started game, 31 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals. Not the best of games for Cameron either this week. He had 5 turnovers to go with his 5 assists. a 1:1 ratio isn't that great. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 8-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/19/20- Rainbow Invitational First Round vs. (8) Monmouth (W 70-61), started game, 37 mins played, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists. 12/20/20- Rainbow Invitational Semifinals vs. (4) Virginia Tech (W 83-80), started game, 23 mins played, 9 points, 1 rebound, 7 assists. Foul trouble hurt Jackson against VA Tech, hopefully he can stay on the floor longer in the Rainbow Invitational Championship next week. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#2 Georgetown) -- 8-1, 0-0 Big East. 12/14/20 vs. Detroit (W 87-59), came off bench, 26 mins played, 11 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block. 12/17/20 vs. Western Illinois (L 87-83), came off bench, 8 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound. Jawouk took advantage of the Ariel foul trouble and had a great game against Detroit, but it's clear that he is still lower on the depth chart. He's biding his time until next season. SO C Tim Sheppard (#23 Mississippi State) -- 8-2, 0-0 SEC. 12/15/20 vs. Michigan (W 74-65), started game, 17 mins played, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 12/19/20 vs. UL Lafayette (W 84-71), started game, 29 mins played, 8 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Fouls hurt Tim against Michigan as he went scoreless, but he came close to a double-double against UL Lafayette. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#11 North Carolina) -- 9-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/14/20 vs. UNC Greensboro (W 98-57), came off bench, 3 mins played, 3 points, 1 rebound. 12/20/20 at Howard (W 64-53), DNP (Coaches Decision) So Erik hit his only shot against Greensboro, a three pointer no less, and doesn't even see the floor at Howard? Tough times for the Flame man. Code:

Dec. 21-27, 2020
1 feature game this week, so let's get to it. 12/27/20- #10 Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg, Jawouk Bafou) @ Maryland (Chester Smith) -- This one was a shootout as both teams shot 50% or better from three point land. Maryland held a huge 41-29 rebounding edge that led to the difference. Final Score: Maryland- 99, #10 Georgetown- 81 Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- came off bench, 6 mins played, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks. Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- came off bench, 19 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Chester Smith (Maryland)- started game, 32 mins played, 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, (POTG). Now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 9-3, 0-0 ACC. 12/22/20 vs. DePaul (L 90-87), started game, 33 mins played, 25 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 12/24/20 vs. Hofstra (W 99-90), started game, 26 mins played, 6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. 12/27/20 vs. #10 Georgetown- feature game, highlighted above. What a week for Chester, as he set a career high for points against DePaul, then broke it 2 games later against Georgetown, and also earned his 2nd POTG of his career. If he keeps it up, his draft stock is going to be much better at years end. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 9-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/24/20 vs. Minnesota (W 85-76), started game, 36 mins played, 23 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, (POTG). 12/27/20 vs. Stephen F. Austin (W 86-58), started game, 31 mins played, 20 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). 2 games, 2 POTG awards for Al and another double-double. And he did all that while picking up 4 fouls in each game. Incredible! RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 8-5, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/22/20 vs. NJIT (W 64-51), started game, 20 mins played, 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 12/24/20 vs. Cal State Bakersfield (W 79-49), came off bench, 9 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds. Ricardo broke his finger against NJIT, but came off the bench to tough out 5 minutes against Bakersfield. He's listed as DTD, so he should be back in the starting lineup sometime next week. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- injured -- 5-5, 0-0 Big West. 12/24/20 at San Diego (W 61-47). RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 7-3, 0-0 Big East. 12/26/20 vs. Hofstra (L 67-63), started game, 26 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block. Jack had an ok game in the Cuse's only game of the week, but they were still upset. RS JR C Ralph King (#6 Duke) -- 9-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/22/20 vs. Arizona State (W 80-52), came off bench, 20 mins played, 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 12/24/20 vs. Arizona (W 95-62), came off bench, 25 mins played, 15 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals. Great week off the bench for Ralph, who shows quick hands as a big man, picking up 3 steals against Zona. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 6-6, 1-0 Big South. 12/23/20 vs. Samford (W 73-50), started game, 30 mins played, 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/26/20 vs. Radford (W 96-84), started game, 32 mins played, 33 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double), (POTG). Talk about breaking out of a slump in a big way! The 33 points against Radford is a season and career high, and how about a PG pulling down 10 rebounds? Not the kind of double-double you'd expect. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 2-8, 0-0 SWAC. No games this week for Bam or Grambling, who get to enjoy the holidays. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#10 Georgetown) -- 9-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/21/20 vs. Portland (W 75-53), came off bench, 25 mins played, 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. 12/27/20 at Maryland- feature game, highlighted above. Ariel pulled a hamstring at Maryland, hence the reason he only played 6 minutes. He may not play next week, as he's projected to be out for 12 more days. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 5-4, 0-0 Conference USA. No games this week for Thomas or the Thundering Herd. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 13-0, 1-0 Big Ten. 12/26/20 vs. Northwestern (W 82-61), started game, 32 mins played, 15 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals. Just 1 game this week for the Spartans and Jaybard, and despite the foul trouble, he still produced. Not as good of scoring as he'd like, but he did have 8 dimes. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#19 Pittsburgh) -- 8-3, 0-0 Big East. 12/24/20 at Ohio State (L 87-86), came off bench, 5 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Qwikshot left his mark in Columbus this week, playing just 5 minutes but doing a lot in those 5 minutes. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 5-6, 0-0 Big 12. No games this week for Mike or the Wildcats. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 6-6, 0-0 Pac 10. 12/25/20 vs. Portland State (W 57-52), came off bench, 24 mins played, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Not the best game for Path, who really struggled against a lowly Portland State team. Free throws were an Achilles, just 1-4 in the game. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#6 Duke) -- 9-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/22/20 vs. Arizona State (W 80-52), started game, 16 mins played, 6 points, 1 rebounds, 2 assists. 12/25/20 vs. Arizona (W 95-62), started game, 18 mins played, 8 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal. Major struggles for Cameron this week, as he just never got going thanks to fouls. 4 each game. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/21/20- Rainbow Invitational Championship vs. (3) Washington State (W 97-70), started game, 29 mins played, 26 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, (POTG). Great week for Jackson in leading his team to the Rainbow Invitational Title. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#10 Georgetown) -- 9-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/21/20 vs. Portland (W 75-53), came off bench, 9 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. 12/27/20 vs. Maryland- feature game, highlighted above. Decent week for Jawouk off the bench. I'd expect a major increase in minutes next week, especially of Ariel doesn't play. SO C Tim Sheppard (#17 Mississippi State) -- 10-2, 0-0 SEC. 12/24/20 vs. Portland (W 68-55), started game, 20 mins played, 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. 12/26/20 at Mississippi Valley State (W 94-85), started game, 26 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Tim isn't a big load on the offensive side of the ball, but he does contribute when he gets a chance. His defense is still solid as ever. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#7 North Carolina) -- 10-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/26/20 vs. UNC Wilmington (W 76-68), came off bench, 1 min played. Not much to talk about with Erik, he played the last minute of the game and that's it. Code:

Dec. 28, 2020-Jan. 3, 2021
1 feature game this week, still a non-conference game. 1/3/21- Kansas State (Mike Schaplowsky) @ Houston (Al Mighty) -- A much closer one than expected, but it was the turnover margin that did the Wildcats in. They had 15 while Houston only had 8. Final Score: Houston- 75, Kansas State- 67 Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State)- came off bench, 7 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Al Mighty (Houston)- started game, 37 mins played, 19 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 10-4, 0-0 ACC. 1/1/21 at Campbell (L 84-73), started game, 14 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/3/21 vs. Brown (W 89-52), started game, 25 mins played, 3 rebounds, 5 assists. A week to forget for Chester, who didn't play nearly as much as he'd have liked due to foul trouble. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 11-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 1/1/21 vs. Sam Houston State (W 70-46), started game, 29 mins played, 19 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal. 1/3/21 vs. Kansas State- feature game, highlighted above. Solid week for Al, averaging 19 points a game despite battling foul trouble himself. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 9-5, 0-0 Mountain West. 1/1/21 at Lamar (W 79-72), started game, 29 mins played, 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block. Ricardo had a nice game in the Rebels' lone game of the week, and he really found his way to the line as he shot 11 free throws in this one. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- injured -- 5-7, 0-0 Big West. 12/2/20 at St. Mary's (L 80-65). 12/31/20 vs. San Diego State (L 58-45). RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 8-4, 0-0 Big East. 12/29/20 vs. Albany (W 58-44), started game, 37 mins played, 4 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists. 12/31/20 at #2 Texas (L 71-66), started game, 36 mins played, 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, (Double-double). Nice bounce back game for Jack at Texas, as he scored a double-double against the nations 2nd best team. His game vs. Albany wasn't bad, he just didn't score a lot. RS JR C Ralph King (#4 Duke) -- 11-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/30/20 at North Carolina Central (W 80-62), started game, 26 mins played, 6 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/1/21 vs. American (W 95-93, OT), started game, 34 mins played, 27 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). Ralph earned his first 2 starts of the season this week and made the most of them with a couple explosive games. The 27 points against American is a career high, while the 15 rebounds is a season high. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 7-7, 2-1 Big South. 12/31/20 vs. Presbyterian (W 79-70), started game, 32 mins played, 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 1/2/21 vs. USC Upstate (L 69-58), started game, 31 mins played, 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals. Not a bad week for Benton, as he had consistent scoring, but they'd still like to see more assists out of him. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 4-8, 2-0 SWAC. 12/31/20 vs. Mississippi Valley State (W 72-52), came off bench, 16 mins played, 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 1/2/21 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (W 84-48), came off bench, 12 mins played, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Not the best week for Bam but actually stayed out of foul trouble in both games. The more notable thing is that Grambling boatraced their first 2 conference opponents. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#16 Georgetown) -- 10-2, 0-0 Big East. 1/2/21 at Virginia (W 93-59), came off bench, 1 min played, 1 rebound. Ariel isn't healing as fasted as the team would have hoped, but he did play a mop-up minute late in the game. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 6-4, 0-0 Conference USA. 1/2/21 vs. Ball State (W 77-60), started game, 15 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Foul trouble limited Thomas in Marshall's only game of the week, but he still managed to put up 10 points. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 15-0, 3-0 Big Ten. 12/30/20 at Minnesota (W 82-75), started game, 27 mins played, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists. 1/2/21 at Penn State (W 80-50), started game, 29 mins played, 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, (POTG). Big game for Jaybard at Penn State, despite battling foul trouble all week. The 30 points at Penn State is a season high. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh) -- 9-3, 0-0 Big East. 12/29/20 vs. Baylor (W 90-75), came off bench, 12 mins played, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Nice game for Qwikshot off the bench, he didn't take many shots but he hit them all. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 5-8, 0-0 Big 12. 12/28/20 at #14 Kentucky (L 85-67), came off bench, 6 mins played, 1 rebound, 1 assist. 1/3/21 at Houston- feature game, highlighted above. Mike had a decent game at Houston for the minutes he played. 6 points for him isn't bad, but he's still trying to find his way. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 8-6, 2-0 Pac 10. 12/31/20 at UCLA (W 88-79), came off bench, 9 mins played, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/2/21 at USC (W 80-75), came off bench, 29 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds. The game at USC is the kind of game Path can have every time if he stays out of foul trouble. A much better game off the bench. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#4 Duke) -- 11-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/30/20 at North Carolina Central (W 80-62), started game, 13 mins played, 4 points, 3 assists, (Fouled Out). 1/1/21 vs. American (W 95-93, OT), started game, 38 mins played, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. If not for Ralph's incredible performance against American, Cameron probably would have gotten POTG. He could have used it, especially after that pitiful game at NC Central where he fouled out. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-4, 0-1 Big Ten. 12/31/20 vs. Illinois State (L 89-76), started game, 36 mins played, 17 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. 1/2/21 vs. Iowa (L 65-57), started game, 35 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. Not a bad week for Jackson. He struggled with fouls a little but still held his own out there. Not much on the defensive side though, and still need more assists. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#16 Georgetown) -- 10-2, 0-0 Big East. 1/2/21 at Virginia (W 93-59), came off bench, 19 mins played, 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Nice game off the bench for Jawouk, who got to the line 9 times in his 19 mins. That's pretty impressive. SO C Tim Sheppard (#11 Mississippi State) -- 10-2, 0-0 SEC. No games this week for Tim and the Bulldogs. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#6 North Carolina) -- 10-3, 0-0 ACC. 12/28/20 at #8 Villanova (L 81-64), came off bench, 4 mins played, 4 points, 5 rebounds. 1/1/21 at Columbia (L 75-65), came off bench, 6 mins played, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Erik doesn't play a lot of minutes, but he sure makes the most out of them. It's pretty impressive when you come into a game and end up with more rebounds than minutes played, as he did at Villanova. Pro Update through Dec. 2020
NBA Rookie PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons currently have a 15-16 record, but the Central Division is so bad that they are current 2nd in the division, 2.5 games behind division leader Chicago, and 3.5 games ahead of 3rd place Indiana. Jace continues to be a big part of that, as he has started every game and is now averaging 18.3 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. He did suffer a sprained knee early in the month of December, but it only slowed him down a little bit. He had 3 more POTG this month, and actually hit a career high of 35 on December 20th against Portland. NBA Rookie PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers) The Trailblazers are struggling this season, having a 6-23 record, last in the Northwest Division by a large margin. Only 3 teams in the NBA have worse records than they do. Ivan, to his credit, managed to stay a Trailblazer the entire month of December, seeing action in 13 games. He played a career high 20 minutes on the 22nd against Atlanta, and the next night set a career high in points with 8. In his 15 NBA appearances so far, he's averaging 10.2 minutes, 4 points, and 2.5 rebounds a game. ok guys, that wraps up this recap of our 2 NBA players, so what do you think? Would you like to see more? I'm obviously not going to do a game by game stat recap with an NBA season being 2-3 times longer than an NCAA season, but if there is something specific you guys want to see, let me know. Thanks and hope everyone is still enjoying. |

I enjoyed the NBA recap and think if this is easy enough for you to do, I'd like you to keep up with it.

1 feature game this week, and it took place in the Big East. 1/9/21- Syracuse (Jack Dawkins) @ #16 Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg, Jawouk Bafou) -- judging by the final score, you would have never expected this one would have went to overtime. The Hoyas completely dominated the extra 5 minutes. Final Score: #16 Georgetown- 91, Syracuse- 77 (OT) Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- started game, 35 mins played, 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- came off bench, 8 mins played, 3 rebounds. Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- came off bench, 18 mins played, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 10-4, 0-0 ACC. No games this week for Chester and the Terps. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 12-2, 0-0 Conference USA. 1/7/21 at Baylor (W 75-59), started game, 36 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists, (Double-double). Only 1 game this week for Al and the Cougars, but it was a big one. Al posted a nice double-double and only turned it over 3 times. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 10-6, 1-1 Mountain West. 1/6/21 at TCU (W 56-45), started game, 29 mins played, 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals. 1/9/21 vs. Wyoming (L 73-58), started game, 29 mins played, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. Decent week for Ricardo, but he's had better. The big thing for him is that he's staying out of foul trouble. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- injured -- 6-8, 1-1 Big West. 1/7/21 vs. Cal State Northridge (W 71-61). 1/9/21 vs. Pacific (L 49-34). RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 9-5, 1-1 Big East. 1/6/21 at DePaul (W 67-60), started game, 34 mins played, 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. 1//9/21 at #16 Georgetown- feature game, highlighted above. Decent week for Jack who tried to get it going at Georgetown as he almost posted a double-double, but not quite. RS JR C Ralph King (#2 Duke) -- 12-2, 0-0 ACC. 1/4/21 vs. Charlotte (W 102-83), started game, 26 mins played, 5 points, 9 rebounds. Foul trouble hampered Ralph in Duke's only game of the week, but even then he still pulled down 9 boards. Not bad. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 7-9, 2-3 Big South. 1/7/21 at UNC Asheville (L 75-71), started game, 32 mins played, 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (Fouled Out), (POTG). 1/9/21 at Gardner Webb (L 89-84), started game, 21 mins played, 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, (Fouled Out). Weird, weird week for Benton, who fouled out of both games, was the POTG in one game, with both being losses. Not often a player from the losing team gets POTG, but consider the stats he could have had if he wouldn't have fouled out. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 4-10, 2-2 SWAC. 1/7/21 at Prairie View A&M (L 71-53), came off bench, 16 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/9/21 at Texas Southern (L 71-51), came off bench, 14 mins played, 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 block. The best stat for Bam this week was that he didn't commit 1 foul, in either game. It appears he is finally learning to play without fouling, now if he could continue to produce consistently in other ways. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#16 Georgetown) -- 11-3, 1-1 Big East. 1/6/21 at Cincinnati (L 66-56), came off bench, 9 mins played, 1 rebound. 1/9/21 vs. Syracuse- feature game, highlighted above. Ariel was really gutsy this week, playing through injury. However, he didn't have much to show for it. The good news is he has fully recovered and should see an increase in minutes next week. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 7-5, 0-0 Conference USA. 1/5/21 vs. Duquesne (W 76-67), started game, 29 mins played, 7 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assist. 1/9/21 vs. Miami (OH) (L 91-82), started game, 26 mins played, 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals. Tough game for Thomas against Duquesne, but he recovered nicely against Miami of OH. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 16-1, 3-1 Big Ten. 1/4/21 vs. Cal Poly (W 85-50), started game, 25 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, (Fouled Out). 1/9/21 vs. #11 Illinois (L 103-102, OT), started game, 39 mins played, 20 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, (Double-double). Jaybard continues to put up his regular numbers, and although his scoring is down a little bit, he's still contributing in other ways. 5 was his favorite number against Cal Poly though, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 fouls. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#24 Pittsburgh) -- 11-3, 2-0 Big East. 1/6/21 vs. #7 Villanova (W 81-70), came off bench, 15 mins played, 4 assists. 1/9/21 vs. DePaul (W 84-77), came off bench, 10 mins played, 4 points, 4 rebounds. Fouls continue to be a problem for Qwikshot, as he had 3 against Nova and 4 against DePaul. He'd probably be playing more if he could quit fouling. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 6-8, 1-0 Big 12. 1/9/21 at #4 Oklahoma State (W 70-67), came off bench, 10 mins played, 11 points, 1 rebound. Huge upset for the Wildcats in their only game of the week, and a great game for Mike too, as he was a perfect 4-4 from the field, and 2-2 from the line. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 9-6, 3-0 Pac 10. 1/9/21 at BYU (W 91-83), came off bench, 24 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Nice game for Path in his only game of the week. I can't remember if I mentioned or not, but BYU is a member of the Pac Ten now. I'd still like to find a way to differentiate between non-conference and conference games. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#2 Duke) -- 12-2, 0-0 ACC. 1/4/21 vs. Charlotte (W 102-83), started game, 33 mins played, 19 points, 2 rebound, 9 assists, 1 steal. Huge game for Cameron as he was 1 assist shy of a double-double this week. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-6, 0-3 Big Ten. 1/6/21 at #11 Illinois (L 72-55), came off bench, 34 mins played, 16 points, 4 assists. 1/9/21 vs. Northwestern (L 82-79), came off bench, 26 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). Nice game for Jackson against Northwestern, a double-double in a loss. A well played week for Mr. Pace though. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#16 Georgetown) -- 11-3, 1-1 Big East. 1/6/21 at Cincinnati (L 66-56), came off bench, 14 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. 1/9/21 vs. Syracuse- feature game, highlighted above. While Jawouk didn't have overwhelming stats this week, he's still making his case for more PT by contributing when he is in the game. He was a big part of the huge OT run against Syracuse. SO C Tim Sheppard (#10 Mississippi State) -- 12-2, 1-0 SEC. 1/4/21 at Northwestern State (W 84-68), started game, 27 mins played, 10 points, 10 rebounds, (Double-double). 1/9/21 at Alabama (W 86-84, OT), started game, 30 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds. This is what is hampering Tim, the inconsistency. He goes from having a double-double in one game to not doing much at all in another game. He's still young though, he'll figure it out. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#22 North Carolina) -- 12-3, 0-0 ACC. 1/4/21 at Toledo (W 80-73), DNP (Coaches Decision). 1/6/21 vs. Colorado (W 91-54), came off bench, 2 mins played, 1 rebound. Nice of Coach Williams to find Erik some good PT in a blowout win. I say that with total sarcasm. I mean come on, 3 mins in a 37 point win? Really? It's going to be a long year for Erik. Let's look at the polls going into next week: Code:

It's nice to see Hawaii in the mid-major poll in this dynasty.
Now if we can only get them in the poll in the other dynasty.

1 feature game to tell you about this week, we go to the Big East. 1/16/21- #21 Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg, Jawouk Bafou) @ Syracuse (Jack Dawkins) -- A total reversal of fortune here, as Syracuse gets the home court advantage in this rematch from a week ago. Again, we go to overtime, and again the home team pulls it out. Final Score: Syracuse- 91, #21 Georgetown- 82 (OT) Ariel Ginsberg (Georgetown)- came off bench, 14 mins played, 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block. Jawouk Bafou (Georgetown)- came off bench, 17 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- started game, 39 mins played, 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block (Double-double). And now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 11-5, 1-1 ACC. 1/13/21 at #22 Boston College (L 99-61), started game, 27 mins played, 9 points, 3 assists, 1 block. 1/16/21 vs. N.C. State (W 78-46), started game, 30 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. Chester took a step back this week, as it wasn't the greatest week for him. Fouls weren't an issue at all, he just couldn't hit shots. RS SR PG Al Mighty (#23 Houston) -- 13-3, 1-1 Conference USA. 1/13/21 vs. Kent State (L 68-62), started game, 34 mins played, 9 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists. 1/16/21 vs. Southern Miss (W 77-75), started game, 36 mins played, 15 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists. Al slowed down on the assists a bit this week, but he still did mighty fine in that department, as well as taking care of the ball. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 12-6, 3-1 Mountain West. 1/12/21 vs. Oregon State (W 61-52), started game, 31 mins played, 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 1/16/21 at Air Force (W 104-55), started game, 22 mins played, 27 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. Huge week for Ricardo, who was slowed by fouls a little at Air Force, but it doesn't matter as he still put up 27 and 7. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 7-9, 2-2 Big West. 1/14/21 vs. Cal State Fullerton (L 76-68), DNP (Injury). 1/16/21 at UC Irvine (W 72-56), started game, 29 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds. Rudy made his long awaited returned at UC Irvine, but he probably would have been better served to sit this one out as well, as he was pretty ineffective. He's not 100% yet, but pretty close. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 10-6, 2-2 Big East. 1/13/21 vs. Louisville (L 70-60), started game, 36 mins played, 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. 1/16/21 vs. #21 Georgetown- feature game, highlighted above. Good week for Jack as he finished with a nice double-double against Georgetown. RS JR C Ralph King (#2 Duke) -- 13-3, 1-1 ACC. 1/13/21 at Florida State (W 73-65), came off bench, 14 mins played, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/16/21 at Georgia Tech (L 101-92), came off bench, 21 mins played, 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Great game off the bench for Ralph in a losing effort at GA Tech. Actually a good week overall for him in limited minutes. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 7-11, 2-5 Big South. 1/14/21 vs. VMI (L 97-88), started game, 31 mins played, 17 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 1/16/21 vs. North Florida (L 79-74), started game, 12 mins played (injured during game), 5 points, 3 rebounds. Benton suffered a broken ankle during the North Florida game, and he is expected to be out about 10 weeks (71 days according to FBCB). This means his season is likely over unless High Point makes a deep run in March, which I'm not expecting. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 4-11, 2-3 SWAC. 1/16/21 vs. Jackson State (L 84-63), came off bench, 13 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 1 game this week for Grambling, and Bam did ok off the bench. At least he's really doing a better job of not fouling. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#21 Georgetown) -- 12-4, 2-2 Big East. 1/13/21 at Rutgers (W 92-80), came off bench, 14 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds. 1/16/21 at Syracuse- feature game, highlighted above. Ariel is still struggling to get back to the form he was at before he pulled his hammy. He's doing alright for himself though, he made all 4 shots he attempted at Rutgers. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 9-5, 2-0 Conference USA. 1/13/21 vs. ECU (W 80-60), started game, 34 mins played, 24 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double), (POTG). 1/16/21 vs. Kent State (W 88-80), started game, 31 mins played, 23 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. Great week for Thomas who had a double-double and POTG against ECU, and led his team in scoring both games. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 17-2, 4-2 Big Ten. 1/13/21 vs. Iowa (L 75-71), started game, 29 mins played, 19 points, 1 rebound, 7 assists. 1/16/21 at Indiana (W 68-56), started game, 36 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal. The points aren't coming for Jaybard this season, at least not as easily as they have been. He was 4-13 against Indiana, but still, he was 3 assists shy of a double-double so he is still contributing in a big way. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#19 Pittsburgh) -- 13-3, 4-0 Big East. 1/13/21 at St. John's (W 60-54), came off bench, 9 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds. 1/16/21 vs. Marquette (W 95-88), came off bench, 19 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. I would say it's time to find more PT for Qwikshot, who had a season and career high of 18 points against Marquette. He's really starting to come into his own. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 7-9, 2-1 Big 12. 1/13/21 vs. Baylor (W 59-58), came off bench, 7 mins played. 1/16/21 vs. Colorado (L 84-81), came off bench, 15 mins played, 7 points, 1 rebound, 3 steals. Mike shrugged off the Baylor game with a better effort against Colorado, leading the team in steals. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 10-7, 4-1 Pac 10. 1/14/21 vs. Washington (W 86-74), came off bench, 32 mins played, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. 1/16/21 vs. Washington State (L 78-71), came off bench, 36 mins played, 8 points, 11 rebounds. Path struggled with fouls this week, but still came close to a double-double against Washington State. If he can limit his fouls, he'll be alright. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#2 Duke) -- 13-3, 1-1 ACC. 1/13/21 at Florida State (W 73-65), started game, 23 mins played, 4 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists. 1/16/21 at Georgia Tech (L 101-92), started game, 32 mins played, 16 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists. Cameron had more turnovers than assists this week in the combined 2 games. That's not what you want from any PG, let alone your starting PG. Coach K won't put up with that for very much longer. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-8, 0-5 Big Ten. 1/13/21 vs. Indiana (L 68-57), started game, 37 mins played, 24 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. 1/16/21 at Michigan (L 77-71), started game, 37 mins played, 16 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. It's been a struggle for Purdue since conference play began, but Jackson is doing his part. He had a couple good games, now if he could just get a little more help. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#21 Georgetown) -- 12-4, 2-2 Big East. 1/13/21 at Rutgers (W 92-80), came off bench, 14 mins played, 7 points, 3 rebounds. 1/16/21 at Syracuse- feature game, highlighted above. Jawouk is putting up decent numbers off the bench, and you'd like to think that will continue even now that Ariel is back. SO C Tim Sheppard (#8 Mississippi State) -- 13-3, 2-1 SEC. 1/11/21 vs. Arkansas (L 71-65), started game, 29 mins played, 2 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. 1/16/21 vs. #18 Kentucky (W 87-81), started game, 30 mins played, 17 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 steals, (POTG). It was a tale of 2 games for Tim, who had a game to forget against Arkansas, but rebounded nicely to get POTG in a big win over Kentucky. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#13 North Carolina) -- 13-4, 1-1 ACC. 1/13/21 at Georgia Tech (L 102-100, OT), DNP (Coaches Decision). 1/16/21 vs. Miami (W 91-66), came off bench, 2 mins played. Well, at least Erik logged 2 minutes against Miami. It feels like Chester Smith all over again. Ugh! Code:
It's been a long, long time since someone besides Michigan State was ranked #1 in this poll. What's even crazier is while the Spartans are ranked 2nd, they didn't get any FPV votes, while the 3rd ranked team, Duke, got 8. Interesting. Code:
Marshall's strong start in conference play has the mid-major pollsters giving them some love, which is nice to see. |

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, been out of town for the last few days, but I'm back so here we go.
Jan. 18-24, 2021 1 feature game this week, and it's in the ACC. 1/20/21- #19 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) @ Maryland (Chester Smith) -- This one was a tale of 2 halves, as Maryland led at halftime, but UNC completely dominated the second half. The Tarheels held the Terps to just 30% shooting for the game and won by double digits despite turning it over 21 times. Final Score: #19 North Carolina- 76, Maryland- 62 Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 5 mins played, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Chester Smith (Maryland)- started game, 30 mins played, 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. Now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 12-6, 2-2 ACC. 1/20/21 vs. #19 North Carolina- feature game, highlighted above. 1/23/21 vs. Virginia (W 72-55), started game, 30 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 3 steals. Not a good week for Chester, who in the 2 games was a combined 5-23 shooting. That, my friends, is dismal. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 14-4, 2-2 Conference USA. 1/20/21 vs. ECU (W 75-66), started game, 36 mins played, 17 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. 1/23/21 at Central Florida (L 73-71), started game, 24 mins played, 18 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). Would Houston have won at Central Florida if not for Al fouling out? Probably, but who knows? Al really had a nice week other than that. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 14-6, 5-1 Mountain West. 1/19/21 at Colorado State (W 77-51), started game, 27 mins played, 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. 1/23/21 vs. Utah (W 76-69), started game, 28 mins played, 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Solid week for Ricardo, who didn't take a lot of shots, but the ones he did take were right on the money. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 8-10, 3-2 Big West. 1/19/21 at UC Santa Barbara (W 57-54), started game, 23 mins played, 9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 1/21/21 vs. Northwestern State (L 69-63), started game, 22 mins played, 5 points, 5 rebounds. Rudy struggled with foul trouble this week, picking up 4 fouls in each game. Some of that might have had to do with the fact he's not at full strength quite yet. But, by next weeks games, he will be. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 10-8, 2-4 Big East. 1/20/21 vs. #11 West Virginia (L 80-58), started game, 18 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds. 1/23/21 at #8 Villanova (L 71-54), started game, 30 mins played, 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. Jack had a better game at Villanova, but still not the type of performance he's capable of. Although the 10 rebounds is nice, he's also had some foul issues lately. RS JR C Ralph King (#3 Duke) -- 15-3, 3-1 ACC. 1/20/21 vs. N.C. State (W 86-68), came off bench, 23 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. 1/23/21 vs. #9 Wake Forest (W 89-57), came off bench, 22 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Nice game for Ralph against Wake, as the Blue Devils rolled in a battle of ranked teams. Wasn't even close. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- injured -- 8-12, 3-6 Big South. 1/21/21 at Coastal Carolina (W 51-49). 1/23/21 at Charleston Southern (L 61-45). RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 5-12, 3-4 SWAC. 1/21/21 vs. Alcorn State (L 66-56), came off bench, 10 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block. 1/23/21 vs. Southern (W 67-60), came off bench, 14 mins played, 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Bam got a couple blocks this week, and continues to limit his fouls. Now, if he could just play consistently enough to earn more minutes. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#22 Georgetown) -- 14-4, 4-2 Big East. 1/20/21 at Seton Hall (W 82-50), came off bench, 23 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. 1/23/21 vs. #18 UConn (W 77-65), came off bench, 14 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Nice game for Ariel at Seton Hall, but most of his stats against UConn came late in the game. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 10-6, 3-1 Conference USA. 1/20/21 at Tulsa (W 78-75), started game, 35 mins played, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. 1/23/21 vs. South Florida (L 87-77), started game, 29 mins played, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, (Fouled Out). Thomas will have to put that South Florida game behind him. Not his best effort, but how he recovers from it will go a long way in determining how Marshall as a team recovers. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#2 Michigan State) -- 19-2, 6-2 Big Ten. 1/20/21 at Michigan (W 90-82), started game, 23 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists. 1/23/21 at Iowa (W 86-64), started game, 34 mins played, 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block. Jaybard is still struggling with his scoring, but he's still considered to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. He sure would like to get that scoring up to what it was last season though. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#13 Pittsburgh) -- 14-4, 5-1 Big East. 1/20/21 vs. Rutgers (W 100-96), came off bench, 18 mins played, 14 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 2 steals. 1/23/21 at Memphis (L 88-87), came off bench, 20 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. Qwikshot continues to give the Panthers great production off the bench, and he's starting to see an increase in minutes. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 7-11, 2-3 Big 12. 1/20/21 at Oklahoma (L 70-56), came off bench, 7 mins played, 3 points, 1 rebound. 1/23/21 at #1 Texas (L 71-56), came off bench, 6 mins played, 1 rebound. Not much to talk about this week for Mike, but the Wildcats actually hung tough on the road this week, within 5 at halftime of both games. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 10-9, 4-3 Pac 10. 1/21/21 at Stanford (L 89-78), started game, 25 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. 1/23/21 at #17 California (L 103-89), started game, 33 mins played, 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Much better game for Path at California. He seems to have a trend of really picking up his play against ranked teams. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#3 Duke) -- 15-3, 3-1 ACC. 1/20/21 vs. N.C. State (W 86-68), started game, 29 mins played, 16 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal, (Triple-double). 1/23/21 vs. #9 Wake Forest (W 89-57), started game, 30 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. So Cameron becomes our first FOFC player to record a triple-double, but doesn't get POTG. Absolutely crazy. He struggled a bit against Wake, but I'm still shocked at how easily the team handled a top 10 opponent. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 9-10, 0-7 Big Ten. 1/20/21 at Wisconsin (L 64-58), started game, 37 mins played, 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. 1/23/21 vs. Minnesota (L 70-56), started game, 34 mins played, 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. Not the best week for Jackson, who put up decent numbers, but scoring was way down. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#22 Georgetown) -- 14-4, 4-2 Big East. 1/20/21 at Seton Hall (W 82-50), came off bench, 17 mins played, 14 points, 7 rebounds. 1/23/21 vs. #18 UConn (W 77-65), came off bench, 16 mins played, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Jawouk had a much better game at Seton Hall. He struggled big time against UConn, and he's not quite the force inside that he needs to be. SO C Tim Sheppard (#12 Mississippi State) -- 14-4, 3-2 SEC. 1/19/21 at Ole Miss (L 72-50), started game, 26 mins played, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/23/21 at LSU (W 85-77), started game, 29 mins played, 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, (Fouled Out). Not a good week for Tim at all. He just couldn't get going in either game, and way too many fouls. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#19 North Carolina) -- 15-4, 3-1 ACC. 1/20/21 at Maryland- feature game, highlighted above. 1/23/21 vs. Florida State (W 102-53), came off bench, 1 min played. Amazing. Erik plays more minutes in the closer game than he does in the blowout. I think Coach Williams is losing it. Code:

1 feature game to tell you about this week, and it is in the ACC. 1/30/21- Maryland (Chester Smith) @ #12 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) -- Hot shooting from both teams was a theme in this one, as well as turnovers. The teams combined for 35 turnovers, but the difference was the shooting as UNC not only attempted 20 more shots, but made 9 more shots than Maryland. Final Score: #12 North Carolina- 91, Maryland- 74 Chester Smith (Maryland)- started game, 28 mins played, 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist. Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 3 mins played, 4 points. And now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 12-8, 2-4 ACC. 1/27/21 at Miami (L 86-75), started game, 26 mins played, 15 points, 5 rebounds. 1/30/21 at #12 North Carolina- feature game, highlighted above. Not the greatest week for Chester, as he didn't do a lot, but hey, at least he's playing this season, right? RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 15-5, 3-3 Conference USA. 1/27/21 vs. Central Florida (W 76-66), started game, 38 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists. 1/30/21 vs. UTEP (L 89-80), started game, 36 mins played, 11 points, 1 rebound, 14 assists, 1 steal, (Double-double). Al had a really nice week, especially the double-double against UTEP. He was only 4-15 from the field in that game. He hits a few more shots and who knows what could happen. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 14-8, 5-3 Mountain West. 1/26/21 vs. San Diego State (L 70-67), started game, 30 mins played, 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, (POTG). 1/30/21 at New Mexico (L 77-72), started game, 29 mins played, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. How about Ricardo getting POTG against SDSU in a losing effort. That's when you know you've had a really good game. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 9-11, 4-3 Big West. 1/28/21 at UC Davis (W 74-65), started game, 34 mins played, 10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, (Double-double). 1/30/21 vs. Cal Poly (L 60-54), started game, 35 mins played, 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Excellent week for Rudy, as he is finally recovered from injury and played great ball this week, including a double-double. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 11-9, 3-5 Big East. 1/27/21 at St. John's (L 77-56), started game, 33 mins played, 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals. 1/30/21 vs. Marquette (W 70-68), started game, 23 mins played, 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Not the greatest of weeks for Jack, especially against Marquette as he missed all his shots from the field, and all his points came from the line. Foul trouble was an issue as well. RS JR C Ralph King (#2 Duke) -- 17-3, 5-1 ACC. 1/27/21 vs. Virginia (W 72-63), came off bench, 23 mins played, 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. 1/30/21 at #23 Wake Forest (W 90-85), came off bench, 22 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block. Not a lot of defense for Ralph this week, but he did grab his fair share of boards in his minutes. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- injured -- 8-14, 3-8 Big South. 1/28/21 at USC Upstate (L 77-68). 1/30/21 at Presbyterian (L 86-77). RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 7-12, 5-4 SWAC. 1/28/21 at Alabama A&M (W 68-55), came off bench, 15 mins played, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. 1/30/21 at Alabama State (W 80-54), came off bench, 15 mins played, 7 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 1 steal. Decent week for Bam, as he continues to keep himself out of foul trouble, but some of his aggressiveness has been taken away as he doesn't get the blocks he used to get. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#15 Georgetown) -- 15-5, 5-3 Big East. 1/27/21 vs. #11 Villanova (L 81-52), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist. 1/30/21 vs. #9 West Virginia (W 71-67), came off bench, 11 mins played, 7 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist. Holy cow. Did you see what Ariel did in 11 minutes against West Virginia. Imagine if he can put up that kind of performance every game, and get extended minutes. He barely played double digit minutes and almost recorded a double-double. Now THAT is impressive. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 11-7, 4-2 Conference USA. 1/27/21 at UAB (W 81-76), started game, 34 mins played, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, (POTG). 1/30/21 at SMU (L 66-59), started game, 27 mins played, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, (Fouled Out). A tale of 2 games for Thomas, as he didn't have his best stuff at SMU, fouling out in the process. The game at UAB was good though. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#1 Michigan State) -- 20-2, 7-2 Big Ten. 1/27/21 vs. Ohio State (W 80-58), started game, 34 mins played, 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Much better game for Jaybard this week in his only game of the week. It's been a while since he's gotten a POTG award. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#13 Pittsburgh) -- 16-4, 7-1 Big East. 1/27/21 at Cincinnati (W 60-56), came off bench, 22 mins played, 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals. 1/30/21 vs. Providence (W 89-86), came off bench, 21 mins played, 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 3 steals. Quick hands by Qwikshot this week as he got 5 steals for the week. Still having trouble with his shot a little bit, although he was on target against Providence. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 7-13, 2-5 Big 12. 1/27/21 vs. Kansas (L 78-53), came off bench, 7 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists. 1/30/21 at Iowa State (L 87-58), came off bench, 14 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Not much happening for Mike this week, and not much happening for the Wildcats either. They are bad. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 11-10, 5-4 Pac 10. 1/28/21 vs. Arizona State (W 86-75), started game, 32 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal. 1/30/21 vs. #17 Arizona (L 89-81), started game, 23 mins played, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, (Fouled Out). I think Path would like to forget the Arizona game, as he just never got dialed in and couldn't keep his hands off the other team. The ASU game wasn't bad, he did have a nice scoring effort, but needs to attack the boards better. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#2 Duke) -- 17-3, 5-1 ACC. 1/27/21 vs. Virginia (W 72-63), started game, 34 mins played, 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. 1/30/21 at #23 Wake Forest (W 90-85), started game, 30 mins played, 24 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). Overall a good week for Cameron. No triple-doubles this week, and he did foul out of a game, but his numbers are still up there amongst the best of the sophomore class. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 10-10, 1-7 Big Ten. 1/27/21 vs. Penn State (W 64-63), started game, 27 mins played, 3 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). Jackson fouling out makes it the 3rd FOFCer to foul out this week. Gotta do better here, but on the bright side, Purdue got their first conference win! SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#15 Georgetown) -- 15-5, 5-3 Big East. 1/27/21 vs. #11 Villanova (L 81-52), came off bench, 15 mins played, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks. 1/30/21 vs. #9 West Virginia (W 71-67), came off bench, 14 mins played, 10 points, 4 rebounds. Good game for Jawouk against West Virginia, as he continues to take advantage of his limited minutes. SO C Tim Sheppard (#14 Mississippi State) -- 16-4, 5-2 SEC. 1/26/21 vs. Georgia (W 80-63), started game, 25 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. 1/30/21 at South Carolina (W 76-74), started game, 29 mins played, 3 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists. Not the best of weeks for Tim, who stayed out of foul trouble but couldn't find his scoring. His rebounding was ok, not great. We've seen better from him. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#12 North Carolina) -- 17-4, 5-1 ACC. 1/27/21 vs. N.C. State (W 81-66), came off bench, 1 min played. 1/30/21 vs. Maryland- feature game, highlighted above. Well I guess if you're going to do something of note, might as well do it big. Erik played 1 minute against N.C. State. In that 1 minute, he had 3 fouls. That's all he did in that minute is foul, foul, and foul some more. Crazy. Of course, all he did in the next game against Maryland is set his season and career high for points with 4. Yep, I said it. 4. Code:

Pro Update Through Jan. 2021
NBA Rookie PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons are 21-25 at the moment, good for 3rd place in the Central Division and 11th place in the Eastern Conference. They played pretty much the entire month without Jace, who played in just 1 game in January. The reason why? He dislocated his shoulder on Jan. 3rd and missed the entire month. Not much more to say about him this month. NBA Rookie PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers) The Trailblazers are awful, seriously awful. They are 8-36 and in last place not only in the Northwest Division but also the entire Western Conference. They are making a serious case for the #1 pick next year, and it's a great possibility a guy like Jaybard Riley could end up there. Just speculation right now though. As for Ivan, he again stayed on the main roster at Portland, and his minutes varied anywhere from 5 to 31 a game. He wasn't a double digit scorer in any game in January, and his best effort was a 9 point, 6 rebound effort against Utah on Jan. 21st. The next day against the Lakers he played 31 minutes and had 8 points, 5 rebounds. Inexplicably, he didn't play more than 17 minutes in a game the rest of the month. Weird. |

1 note before we jump into the next week, since we have a lot of recruits waiting to get in on this, I'm just going to speed through the month of February and not worry too much about the little sentence recap I've been giving for every player. You guys can make your own determination from the stats as to how your player did. Next season I'll go back to the sentence recaps, but we just have too many recruits waiting to get in. Thanks for understanding
Feb. 1-7, 2021 2 feature game this week, and we'll start in Conference USA: 2/3/21- Houston (Al Mighty) @ Marshall (Thomas Magnum) -- You'd have never guessed that Houston was down at halftime the way this one turned out. They trailed by 8 at the half but outscored the Thundering Herd 48-22 in the second half to get a runaway road victory. Final Score: Houston- 83, Marshall- 65 Al Mighty (Houston)- started game, 36 mins played, 17 points, 1 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). Thomas Magnum (Marshall)- started game, 31 mins played 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists. Now we move to the ACC: 2/6/21- Maryland (Chester Smith) @ #1 Duke (Ralph King, Cameron Blodgett) -- The Terps gave the Blue Devils all they wanted in this one, but couldn't overcome 18 turnovers and 38.5% shooting as Duke survives at home. Final Score: #1 Duke- 87, Maryland- 83 Chester Smith (Maryland)- started game, 29 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Ralph King (Duke)- came off bench, 14 mins played, 6 points, 6 rebounds. Cameron Blodgett (Duke)- started game, 9 mins played, 8 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists. Now on to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 13-9, 3-5 ACC. 2/3/21 vs. Clemson (W 100-65), started game, 25 mins played, 7 poinys, 4 rebounds, 6 assists. 2/6/21 at #1 Duke- feature game, highlighted above. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 16-6, 4-4 Conference USA. 2/3/21 at Marshall- feature game, highlighted above. 2/6/21 at Kent State (L 66-45), started game, 30 mins played, 8 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 15-8, 6-3 Mountain West. 2/6/21 vs. TCU (W 65-57), started game, 29 mins played, 20 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 9-13, 4-5 Big West. 2/7/21 at Pacific (L 65-51), started game, 34 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks. 2/6/21 vs. UC Riverside (L 58-42), started game, 14 mins played, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 13-9, 5-5 Big East. 2/3/21 vs. Cincinnati (W 70-61), started game, 36 mins played, 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. 2/6/21 at Memphis (W 63-55), started game, 35 mins played, 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, (POTG). RS JR C Ralph King (#1 Duke) -- 19-3, 7-1 ACC. 2/3/21 vs. Florida State (W 78-50), came off bench, 23 mins played, 8 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. 2/6/21 vs. Maryland- highlighted above. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- injured -- 9-15, 4-9 Big South. 2/4/21 vs. Gardner Webb (L 90-64). 2/11/21 at North Florida (W 76-68). RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 7-14, 5-6 SWAC. 2/4/21 vs. Texas Southern (L 65-62), came off bench, 9 mins played, 2 rebounds, 1 block. 2/6/21 vs. Prairie View A&M (L 66-54), came off bench, 11 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 1 steal. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#18 Georgetown) -- 17-5, 7-3 Big East. 2/3/21 vs. St. John's (W 68-57), came off bench, 9 mins played, 3 rebounds. 2/6/21 at Notre Dame (W 84-75), came off bench, 15 mins played, 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 12-8, 5-3 Conference USA. 2/3/21 vs. Houston- feature game, highlighted above. 2/6/21 at Tulane (W 79-52), started game, 34 mins played, 26 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, 4 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). JR SG Jaybard Riley (#2 Michigan State) -- 22-2, 9-2 Big Ten. 2/3/21 vs. Michigan (W 73-55), started game, 36 mins played, 19 points, 6 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 2/6/21 at Wisconsin (W 85-72), started game, 35 mins played, 38 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). Ok, I know I said I wasn't going to make comments, but everybody note this game from Jaybard. THAT is why he is projected to be a top 5 pick in the NBA draft. Wow! RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#10 Pittsburgh) -- 17-5, 8-2 Big East. 2/3/21 at Louisville (L 62-61), came off bench, 21 mins played, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals. 2/6/21 vs. St. John's (W 85-81), came off bench, 15 mins played, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 8-14, 3-6 Big 12. 2/3/21 vs. Nebraska (W 66-57), came off bench, 10 mins played, 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal. 2/6/21 vs. Missouri (L 75-66), came off bench, 2 mins played. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 12-10, 6-4 Pac 10. 2/6/21 vs. BYU (W 79-71), started game, 35 mins played, 3 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, 3 steals. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#1 Duke) -- 19-3, 7-1 ACC. 2/3/21 vs. Florida State (W 78-50), started game, 32 mins played, 16 points, 1 rebound, 8 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 2/6/21 vs. Maryland- feature game, highlighted above. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 10-12, 1-9 Big Ten. 2/3/21 at Northwestern (L 79-67), started game, 26 mins played, 8 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block. 2/6/21 vs. Ohio State (L 93-86, OT (at least 3, maybe more)), started game, 51 mins played, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#18 Georgetown) -- 17-5, 7-3 Big East. 2/3/21 vs. St. John's (W 68-57), came off bench, 15 mins played, 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. 2/6/21 at Notre Dame (W 84-75), came off bench, 16 mins played, 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. SO C Tim Sheppard (#9 Mississippi State) -- 16-5, 5-3 SEC. 2/6/21 vs. Auburn (L 84-80), started game, 18 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, (Fouled Out). RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#5 North Carolina) -- 18-5, 6-2 ACC. 2/3/21 vs. Virginia (W 73-47), came off bench, 1 min played, 1 assist. 2/6/21 at Clemson (L 85-77), came off bench, 2 mins played, 1 rebound. That Michigan State-Duke war at the top is very entertaining. Duke actually had more FPV but Michigan State had 3 more overall points. That's all that is separating the teams. Amazing. Code:

Is Jaybard headed towards the NBA after this year? I believe he's a Junior, I wasn't sure if we set it towards having to stay all 4 years in college or not.

I've head it set up so guys can leave after their Junior season. I was going to change it to make it where guys could leave after Freshman season but I wanted it to be universal all the way through so it'll stay set up for junior year. None of the juniors have declared yet, I think FBCB doesn't have them declare until after the season, but I'd be shocked if Jaybard doesn't go. |

1 feature game this week, and it comes from the ACC. 2/10/21- #8 North Carolina (Erik Flamebeard) @ #2 Duke (Ralph King, Cameron Blodgett) -- This top 10 battle didn't disappoint, ad it was close throughout. Although neither team took care of the ball, as there were 39 combined turnovers, Carolina shot 51.9% from the field and doubled up Duke from the tree point line, and that was enough to escape with the victory. Final Score: #8 North Carolina- 79, #2 Duke- 77 Erik Flamebeard (North Carolina)- came off bench, 2 mins played. Ralph King (Duke)- came off bench, 18 mins played, 6 points, 10 rebounds. Cameron Blodgett (Duke)- started game, 33 mins played, 9 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. Pro Update for Feb. 2021
NBA Rookie PF Jace Hunter (Detroit Pistons) The Pistons are now 24-32, 3rd place in the Central Division and 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Jace returned from injury to start the month and not only did he play in the NBA Rookie Game, where he scored 13 points and had 10 boards to help the Rookies beat the Sophomores, but he was also named an Eastern Conference All-Star. He only played 6 minutes, but it's quite a treat to be named an all-star in your first season. He did have another injury in the middle of the month as he fractured his nose and missed a couple games, but he scored 20+ points in 5 games in February, including a 28 point, 10 rebound effort on the 12th against Toronto. Despite all that, he still has not earned a Rookie of the Month award yet. Amazing. NBA Rookie PF Ivan Carrillo (Portland Trailblazers/Los Angeles D-League) The Trailblazers are now 15-41, still well in last place in the Northwest Division, but the good news is they are no longer the worst team in the Western Conference. They are 1.5 games ahead of New Orleans in that department. As for Ivan, he played in just 2 games in February, and 1 of those games was in the D-League, as he was reassigned on the 9th. Unfortunately, he is the best player on the Los Angeles D-League team, but part of the reason he hasn't played since the 9th is because he has been injured. The day he was reassigned to the D-League is also the day he suffered a stress fracture, a double whammy. He's projected to be out for about 45 days, meaning he may not see the court again this season. Oh yea, and his D-League team? A dismal 4-31. Yikes! |

I am going to forego the player stats through February and just do one at the end of the season, because I'm ready to get the next college week going.

2 feature games to tell you about this week, and we'll start in the Big East. 3/3/21- #15 Pittsburgh (Qwikshot Collins) @ #12 Georgetown (Ariel Ginsberg, Jawouk Bafou) -- This game certainly didn't live up to the hype, as the Hoyas raced to a 14 point lead, but the real difference was at the free throw line. Georgetown shot 46 free throws compared to 8 for Pittsburgh. I've heard of home court advantage but wow! Despite all that, Pitt didn't have 1 guy foul out, and they committed 31 fouls. Jaybard Riley (Michigan State)- started game, 20 mins played, 18 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 19-11, 11-7 Big East. 3/3/21 vs. DePaul (W 83-51), started game, 32 mins played, 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 3/6/21 vs. Rutgers (W 70-47), started game, 34 mins played, 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. RS JR C Ralph King (#1 Duke) -- 26-4, 14-2 ACC. 3/3/21 vs. #8 Georgia Tech (W 84-77), came off bench, 22 mins played, 6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, (Fouled Out). 3/6/21 at Virginia (W 74-52), started game, 30 mins played, 4 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point)- injured -- 12-18, 7-11 Big South. 3/2/21- Big South First Round vs. (3) Gardner Webb (L 69-49). So Benton will end his junior season still on the mend, and even if High Point would have made the postseason, he'd still be out 3 weeks. Better luck next season, as I'm sure he'll be back. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 10-18, 8-10 SWAC. 3/4/21 at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (L 60-57), came off bench, 12 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds. 3/6/21 at Mississippi Valley State (L 70-56), came off bench, 11 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#12 Georgetown) -- 22-8, 12-6 Big East. 3/3/21 vs. #15 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/21 at Marquette (L 83-80), came off bench, 28 mins played, 6 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 19-9, 12-4 Conference USA. 3/3/21 vs. SMU (W 58-43), started game, 35 mins played, 24 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, (POTG). 3/6/21 vs. Central Florida (W 70-62), started game, 22 mins played, 2 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#3 Michigan State) -- 27-4, 14-4 Big Ten. 3/3/21 vs. Purdue (W 85-72)- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/21 vs. Penn State (W 91-90, OT), started game, 40 mins played, 6 points, 6 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#15 Pittsburgh) -- 21-9, 12-6 Big East. 3/3/21 at #15 Georgetown- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/21 vs. Notre Dame (W 75-74), came off bench, 19 mins played, 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 11-19, 5-11 Big 12. 3/3/21 at #19 Kansas (L 77-63), came off bench, 12 mins played, 12 points, 1 rebound. 3/6/21 vs. Texas Tech (L 70-62), came off bench, 1 min played. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 16-14, 10-8 Pac 10. 3/4/21 vs. UCLA (W 99-90), started game, 34 mins played, 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 3/6/21 vs. USC (L 80-77), started game, 24 mins played, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#1 Duke) -- 26-4, 14-2 ACC. 3/3/21 vs. #8 Georgia Tech (W 84-77), started game, 35 mins played, 20 points, 1 rebound, 8 assists, 1 steal. 3/6/21 at Virginia (W 74-52), started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 14-16, 5-13 Big Ten. 3/3/21 at #3 Michigan State- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/21 at Iowa (L 81-73), started game, 38 mins played, 11 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#12 Georgetown) -- 22-8, 12-6 Big East. 3/3/21 vs. #15 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/21 at Marquette (L 83-80), came off bench, 14 mins played, 5 points, 2 rebounds. SO C Tim Sheppard (#22 Mississippi State) -- 20-9, 9-7 SEC. 3/1/21 at Auburn (L 98-74), started game, 28 mins played, 8 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists. 3/6/21 vs. Ole Miss (W 79-77, OT), started game, 19 mins played, 4 points, 6 rebounds. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#4 North Carolina) -- 26-5, 14-2 ACC. 3/3/21 at Miami (W 89-75), DNP (Coaches Decision). 3/6/21 at Florida State (W 86-71), came off bench, 1 min played, 2 points. Code:

2 feature games to tell you about during this conference tournament week, and we'll start in the Big East. 3/11/21- Big East Quarterfinals - (6) Syracuse (Jack Dawkins) vs. (3)#20 Pittsburgh (Qwikshot Collins) -- Not much to talk about in this one, as the Panthers blew open a close game in the second half by shooting lights out. Pitt shot 51.7% while Syracuse shot 32.7% and that was the difference as Pitt moves on to the semifinals. Final Score: #20 Pittsburgh- 83, Syracuse- 58 Jack Dawkins (Syracuse)- started game, 25 mins played, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- came off bench, 23 mins played, 1 point, 10 rebounds, 4 assist, 1 steal. Now we move to Conference USA: 3/13/21- Conference USA Championship- (6) Houston (Al Mighty) vs. (1) Marshall (Thomas Magnum) -- This one was tight early, as Houston led by 1 at halftime. The second half belonged to Marshall though as they really clamped down and hurt Houston's shot selection with tight defense. It was enough to give the Thundering Herd the win and the auto bid to the NCAA Tourney. Final Score: Marshall- 77, Houston- 62 Al Mighty (Houston)- started game, 35 mins played, 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Thomas Magnum (Marshall)- started game, 30 mins played, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. Now to the rest of the weekly recap: RS SR SF Chester Smith (Maryland) -- 20-12, 9-7 ACC. 3/11/21- ACC First Round vs. (11) Virginia Tech (W 90-60), started game, 31 mins played, 5 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. 3/12/21- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (3) #11 Boston College (L 75-67), started game, 26 mins played, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, (Fouled Out). The Terps hung with BC in the second half but too big of a first half deficit cost them, and Chester didn't do much to help the cause. With the 20-12 record, Maryland will probably sneak into the NCAA Tournament, but this is a far cry from last seasons team. RS SR PG Al Mighty (Houston) -- 23-11, 8-8 Conference USA. 3/10/21- Conference USA vs. (11) Southern Miss (W 76-66), started game, 34 mins played, 16 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 3/11/21- Conference USA Quarterfinals vs. (3) Kent State (W 80-62), started game, 34 mins played, 21 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, (Double-double), (POTG). 3/12/21- Conference USA Semifinals vs. (7) Central Florida (W 77-76), started game, 32 mins played, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal. 3/13/21- Conference USA Championship vs. (1) Marshall- feature game, highlighted above. Al is a big part of the reason the Cougars made it all the way to the C-USA Championship. They had a tough conference season, but this is a very good team and I'll be shocked if they aren't in the NCAA Tournament. RS SR SG Ricardo Tubbs (UNLV) -- 21-12, 10-6 Mountain West. 3/11/21- Mountain West Quarterfinals vs. (7) Colorado State (W 67-55), started game, 31 mins played, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, (POTG). 3/12/21- Mountain West Semifinals vs. (3) Air Force (W 85-73), started game, 28 mins played, 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. 3/13/21- Mountain West Championship vs. (1) San Diego State (L 76-54), started game, 28 mins played, 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Ricardo was solid this week, as always. As for the Rebels, they finished in a 3 way tie for first place in the Mountain West, but their RPI is bad enough that I don't think there's any way possible they can make the NCAA Tournament. I think they will be hosting a First Round game in the NIT. SR C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State) -- 14-18, 7-9 Big West. 3/10/21- Big West First Round vs. (8) UC Davis (W 62-55), started game, 34 mins played, 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, (Double-double), (POTG). 3/11/21- Big West Second Round vs. (4) Cal Poly (W 65-56), started game, 35 mins played, 16 points, 11 rebounds, (Double-double). 3/12/21- Big West Semifinals vs. (1) UC Santa Barbara (L 69-65), started game, 33 mins played, 17 points, 9 rebounds. What a run for the 49ers, who fell just a couple games short. They needed to win to make the postseason, so they'll be done. Rudy's college career is over, but his last few games were enough to think he could actually get a chance in the D-League, if nothing else. RS JR SF Jack Dawkins (Syracuse) -- 20-12, 11-7 Big East. 3/10/21- Big East Second Round vs. (14) Rutgers (W 78-63), started game, 31 mins played, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 2 steals. 3/11/21- Big East Quarterfinals vs. (3) #20 Pittsburgh- feature game, highlighted above. Jack certainly ended the conference tournament on a dismal note, but he and the Orange will be playing more basketball this season. They had one of the toughest schedules in the nation, and because of that, they'll be in the NCAA Tournament. RS JR C Ralph King (#1 Duke) -- 28-5, 14-2 ACC. 3/12/21- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (10) Clemson (W 77-60), came off bench, 15 mins played, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. 3/13/21- ACC Semifinals vs. (3) #11 Boston College (W 76-73), came off bench, 23 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal. 3/14/21- ACC Championship vs. (4) #9 Georgia Tech (L 90-79), came off bench, 15 mins played, 18 points, 2 rebounds. Ralph had a heck of a game in the ACC Championship, but the Blue Devils fall. No matter, they've been a lock for the NCAA Tournament for weeks, and they could be a #1 seed. RS JR PG Benton Gale (High Point) -- 12-18, 7-11 Big South. No games this week for Benton and the Panthers, who played their conference tournament last week. At 12-18, they are done for the season, and I'd be shocked if Benton doesn't return for his senior year. RS JR PF Bam Jamison (Grambling) -- 12-19, 8-10 SWAC. 3/11/21- SWAC Quarterfinals vs. (2) Alabama A&M (W 86-79), came off bench, 14 mins played, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. 3/12/21- SWAC Semifinals vs. (6) Prairie View A&M (W 68-55), started game, 29 mins played, 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists. 3/13/21- SWAC Championship vs. (1) Mississippi Valley State (L 60-59), started game, 20 mins played, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. The Tigers were just 1 basket away from duplicating last years Cinderella run in the SWAC Tournament. It was not to be this season though, as they fell just short. With the 12-19 record, they are done for the season, but how about Bam making an impression and getting the start in both the semis and the championship. Because of that, I think he'll be back for his senior season. JR C Ariel Ginsberg (#17 Georgetown) -- 22-9, 12-6 Big East. 3/11/21- Big East Quarterfinals vs. (7) Marquette (L 77-74), came off bench, 22 mins played, 6 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block. The Hoyas got one of those famous double byes into the Quarterfinals (Anybody else remember when the real Big East had 16 teams and really did it that way? I sure miss those days). Anyways, enough reminiscing, Georgetown was upset in this one, but Ariel had a nice effort off the bench. It doesn't matter though, the Hoyas will definitely be dancing in the NCAA Tournament. JR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 22-9, 12-4 Conference USA. 3/11/21- Conference USA Quarterfinals vs. (9) South Florida (W 82-73), started game, 33 mins played, 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, (POTG). 3/12/21- Conference USA Semifinals vs. (5) UTEP (W 86-38), started game, 31 mins played, 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, (POTG). 3/13/21- Conference USA Championship vs. (6) Houston- feature game, highlighted above. What a tournament for Thomas, who took POTG in 2 of the 3 games, and the Thundering Herd become the first FOFC team to win a conference tournament this season. They probably would have been dancing anyways, but it's official now. JR SG Jaybard Riley (#3 Michigan State) -- 28-5, 14-4 Big Ten. 3/12/21- Big Ten Quarterfinals vs. (7) Minnesota (W 94-80), started game, 36 mins played, 36 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, (POTG). 3/13/21- Big Ten Semifinals vs. (6) Northwestern (L 86-70), started game, 16 mins played, 5 points, 3 assists. As Jaybard goes, so do the Spartans. Jaybard had one of his worst games of the season against Northwestern, and the Spartans played one of their worst games. They'll have a chance to redeem themselves though, as they'll be dancing, but that Big Ten Semifinal loss may have cost them a #1 seed. RS SO SG Qwikshot Collins (#20 Pittsburgh) -- 23-10, 12-6 Big East. 3/11/21- Big East Quarterfinals vs. (6) Syracuse- feature game, highlighted above. 3/12/21- Big East Semifinals vs. (7) Marquette (W 107-85), came off bench, 24 mins played, 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals. 3/13/21- Big East Championship vs. (4) Cincinnati (L 82-74), came off bench, 28 mins played, 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Qwikshot did pretty well this week, but the Panthers just ran into a really hot Cincinnati team. They'll still be dancing though. RS SO PG Mike Schaplowsky (Kansas State) -- 11-20, 5-11 Big 12. 3/10/21- Big 12 First Round vs. (7) Texas Tech (L 64-51), came off bench, 7 mins played, 8 points, 1 rebound. The Wildcats will end their season with an 11-20 record, but Mike really made strides throughout the course of the year. Obviously since sophomores can't declare, he'll be back next season, but the chances of him starting are slim as there is still a light of talent ahead of him coming back. His best hope is a few transfers or juniors that declare. RS SO PF Path Twelve (Oregon) -- 16-15, 10-8 Pac 10. 3/11/21- Pac 10 Quarterfinals vs. (4) BYU (L 71-62), started game, 36 mins played, 5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. An early exit for the Ducks, who really needed a couple wins to feel safe about a postseason bid. Their RPI of 75 isn't terrible, so if they sneak into the CBI, I won't be shocked. SO SG Cameron Blodgett (#1 Duke) -- 28-5, 14-2 ACC. 3/12/21- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (10) Clemson (W 77-60), started game, 26 mins played, 18 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled Out), (POTG). 3/13/21- ACC Semifinals vs. (3) #11 Boston College (W 76-73), started game, 33 mins played, 13 points, 6 assists. 3/14/21- ACC Championship vs. (4) #9 Georgia Tech (L 90-79), started game, 34 mins played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists. Cameron didn't play well at all in the ACC Championship, they needed more out of him, but as stated above, Duke will probably be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. SO PG Jackson Pace (Purdue) -- 14-17, 5-13 Big Ten. 3/11/21- Big Ten First Round vs. (6) Northwestern (L 64-60), started game, 26 mins played, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Jackson didn't do much to help the Boilermakers, but they pretty much needed to win out to make a postseason tournament, so their season is over and Jackson will look to continue his improved play next season. SO PF Jawouk Bafou (#17 Georgetown) -- 22-9, 12-6 Big East. 3/11/21- Big East Quarterfinals vs. (7) Marquette (L 77-74), came off bench, 8 mins played, 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block. Jawouk did ok in his limited minutes, and as stated above, the Hoyas will be dancing. SO C Tim Sheppard (Mississippi State) -- 21-10, 9-7 SEC. 3/12/21- SEC Quarterfinals vs. (12) Ole Miss (W 81-71), started game, 21 mins played, 1 point, 7 rebounds. 3/13/21- SEC Semifinals vs. (1) #8 Tennessee (L 82-75), started game, 13 mins played, 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 steals, (Fouled Out). An SEC Tournament to forget for Tim, but the Bulldogs had a nice effort against Tennessee. Their RPI is high enough (21) that they'll be dancing for sure. RS FR PF Erik Flamebeard (#4 North Carolina) -- 27-6, 14-2 ACC. 3/12/21- ACC Quarterfinals vs. (9) Miami (W 76-65), came off bench, 1 min played, 2 rebounds. 3/13/21- ACC Semifinals vs. (4) #9 Georgia Tech (L 75-48), came off bench, 4 mins played, 4 points. Well, the Tarheels certainly blew it big against GA Tech. They'll be dancing, but they are right on the borderline for a #1 seed. I think the ACC will get one, but who do you give it to? Carolina, who won the regular season title, or Duke, who went farther in the ACC Tournament. GA Tech won't get one, they had 9 losses. Here's a look at the final polls before we head into the postseason tournaments: Code:

Because, as I said in another dynasty report, I like to instill a little bit of drama in my reports, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to announce where all our FOFC players will be playing (or not playing) in the postseason.
The suspense will just have to haunt you guys for one more day. |
