Recruiting for Action! PC Basketball League

Hi everyone,

My name is Adam and I am recruiting for an Action! PC basketball league that is starting up this fall. One of the guys who has joined this league told me he thought it would be a good idea to post here to see if we could generate some interest in the last few slots.

This text-based PC hoops game is a wonderful strategy game that captures much of the in-game decisions that all NBA head coaches face.

This new league (named the SPIBA) will strive to realistically simulate all the contract and salary cap decisions as well as the in-game coaching decisions. The goal is to provide hobbyists with full control of a basketball franchise. the highs, lows...the chases for titles, the low picks that make you feel like a genius. It's all here with the Action! PC game.

Here are some details on the SPIBA from our posting on the software company's forum who makes this great game:

A new Action PC basketball league is forming, and is scheduled to begin regular season play in Fall of 2013.

The SPIBA will merge all aspects of real-life basketball franchise management. This is a 24-28 team league (pending interest/commitment) that plays an 82-game schedule, which mirrors the actual NBA schedule. Play begins in late October/early November.

The salary cap and contract system and realistic player movement that results from the custom designed, Ebay-style league free agency program make it challenging to keep a dynasty in place for very long, much as it is in the NBA. The system rewards prudent drafting, trading, and money management. SPIBA's contract system, which has been stress tested through 10 years of use in a similarly structured Strat-O-Matic baseball league (www.spibl.com), as well as more recently in its counterpart leagues in Strat-o-Matic hockey and Action! PC football (Strat Pros Internet Hockey League and SPIFL respectively) is a proven system which balances great realism with simplicity in management.

A core group of owners from the SPIBA baseball league, Strat Pros Internet Hockey League hockey league, and SPIFL football league have already committed to the league. We are looking for additional owners to join our membership.

The commissioner has over 10 years experience running leagues with this format. All of the leagues mentioned above were developed and are currently commissioned by him, and all have very good reputations in their respective communities.
