I bet the treasure is just a note that says "peace on earth" or something.

I wondering, geographically, what's the scope. Too far to walk could be an area as small as 25 miles radius - of woods, streams, coves and canyons. Or it could be regional in scope.

My best guess is that the treasure is buried near Arroyo Seco, NM, but I doubt I can narrow the search area beyond that without actually heading out there - which isn't going to happen. Plus, I get the idea that the clues become useless once you get down inside a three mile radius or so. But, fun idea. The stash probably does have some monetary value.

Since Brown is capitalized, that has to be a decent clue.

So people were digging up outhouses because of the "Put in below the home of Brown."
I think if this is a real thing, the best way to find it is probably to track the guy's movements. At some point he's going to check to see if it's still there. |

It's probably near Santa Cruz Dam. When I lived in Santa Fe I remember raids for "brown" in Chimayo all the time. About the only place with nature and water south of the "brown"

So, the treasure in the original post is still out there. They author has given out several more clues, but the important one I think is that he (an 80 year old man) carried the treasure (42 pounds) to where it currently sits in the span of two trips over several hours one afternoon, and that there isn't an established human trail where he left it. That greatly reduces the possible locations, but it still is a vast area.

That's a fascinating thread about the history here and the guy behind it that ends with kind of a whimper when it comes to why he thinks the treasure hasn't actually been found.
