Hmm, Jay Boone hits the Key Veteran Acquisitions for Buffalo, but is not a key loss for Carolina...

I'd have to check the code there, but I'm pretty sure the answer is this:

Key Loss: Because some key losses are retirements, I can't check ratings for that. I use the point total from the previous season to see if he was a key performer. I'm guessing the threshold is 400 points, which is pretty easy to reach for a skill position guy by just playing every game, but a lineman probably needs to be one of the best dozen or so in the league to hit that number. The thinking there is that if a guy is fairly easy to replace, performance-wise, then he's not a "key" loss.

Key Acquisition: Made that purely ratings-based, because if a guy was a 60/60 backup somewhere else, he might have unimpressive stats from the previous season, but still be a "key" acquisition.

That makes sense Ben, I wouldn't say that Michael Turner was a key loss for SD in the NFL, but he was surely a key acquisition for ATL.

Power Ratings have BAL and CIN 1-2... Perfect. Haha, AFC North for the win!

I'm more and more excited every season that we have, one day I'm going to win a superbowl and it's going to feel like my birthday. Nay! It's going to feel like a hundred birthdays!

Could be interesting on performance. In this case he's an 80-rated offensive tackle and was very a much a key loss for us.
