PureSim 2006 HTML Almanac Screen

Still polishing PureSim 2006 for release within the next week or two. Here is a shot scrolled down on one of the new season leaderboard screens for the HTML Almanac. I simmed 1986...

I sometimes forget that Bonds used to look like that.

How long does it take to create the almanac each season?

Yea, I thought that was funny.

Well, it depends on how many seasons you have played but the 1986 one there took about 4 minutes on my P4 3.8ghz machine. That said, I'm not doing some of the really hard core Cato stuff like "Black Ink", "Gray Ink" and "Similarity Scores". To me the performace hit is not worth it on those.

The cool thing is I added options to skip generation when in fast sim mode, so if you set PureSim to sim 20 years or something, it will just generate it once at the end of the cycle.

Correction, I just timed it. It took just under 2 minutes to generate.

This iteration of the game is showing promise Shaun!

I would love to read some more on the computer AI, mainly the FA period and trades.

Looks good so far Shaun. I have purchased the previous Puresim and for whatever reason just havent been able to put as much time into it as i do for OOTP. Looks like the next version is shaping up very nice.

I'm actually thinking about using the Lahman database and beginning a historical career with PS 2006, if/when I get it.

Reading some threads over at the PS forum has me thinking a little bit more about the new version.

Would be interesting to start in say, my birth year of 1971 and going on from there.

The almanac would be a definite "bonus" for this type of a career.

In Puresim, is it possible to hire a Manager and play as the GM? I'm thinking in prior versions it was not possible but I really don't remember for sure.

You don't specifically hire a manager, but you can play GM only if you'd like as opposed to having to manage games. In addition, if you'd like a mix of the two, you can set your manager's general tendencies and have him manage on your behalf based on those settings.

What's with the pic of Eddie Murphy wearing the retro Pirates cap?

(Screen looks great by the way.)

Sort of like Billy Beane.
