gg Al. Going to be hard to win when we get a 24-0 jump on ya, and you have 4 turnovers. Crickett Cote is the man.

Down 3, but on the move late in the fourth quarter. We're already inside of Wellstone's FG range, and have a first and 10...

Lowcountry: I formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with dime personnel and 3-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-SAV29 (4Q: 01:44) Lionel Johnstone pass completed to FB Daniel Bridges for -1 yards. Tackled by S Lonnie Swager. The ball was fumbled and recovered by SAV J.R. Peluso on the SAV30.

Game. Set. Match.

Welp, we changed up the gameplan a little this sim feeling that PAL was vulnerable against the run. We hadn't been running that well, but figured it was our best shot. The move paid off as rookie RB Lewis Maxwell churned out 110 (including a 40+ yard TD scamper) and Herndon added in another 50 and the game winning TD. Wolf was efficient completing >75% of his passes while the Peacock/Marx due lit it up again.

On defense, we shut down the run (how did that happen) but with our top CB our we were thrown all over. We allowed 300+ in the air, but in the end we had a monster 8+ minute drive in the 4th quarter, forcing the Whirlwind into a come from behind mode and made our stand. All in all, we didn't dominate, but I can't complain about the outcome or the performance.

Maybe I'll start to play PAL a little more competitive now that his 8 years of total domination appear to be slowing to a state of mostly dominating.

Yeah, that last monster drive was the key. Nice gameplan. Congrats on the win, you Montana bastard.

That blocked punt spelled big trouble for us - we'd kept things close despite our inability to score on CHV, but suddenly we were in a hole and it didn't get close until too late.

We moved the ball well, but never enough to score points. Lots of 30 and 40 yard drives that stalled out with nothing.

Down 15-10 late, we go for it at our own 38, miss, they punch it in, then we get the TD back on our next drive. But a fumble, an INT, and the failed 4th down doomed us.

Wow, we finally were able to put together something on offense. This is the first game all season (including preseason) where I felt we could move the ball with any consistency.

Our defense had a very impressive effort against the mighty Sharpshins, but the familiars and an injury to Borelli killed us in the 4th quarter. Our season is essentially over, I suspect, with the 7 week injury to Kirk.

Apparently, our tactic to let him sign with your team this past off-season to be our Lowcountry Scout/Spy has had great success.

GG Vegas. It sucks to lose when you dominate the yardage, but we had over 100 yards in penalties and 3 turnovers. It's a pretty wide open race in the division now.

Essentially, we killed this game in the last few minutes in the first half. There was a horrible sequence for the Gladiators.

25:301:03OWN 832Punt
22:420:35OWN 181-7Fumble
22:070:36OWN 194-7Interception
21:020:15OWN 3110Fumble

The punt was followed by a great return that led to a FG.
That first fumble was returned for a TD.
The interception was returned to their 2 yard line and led to a Lincoln Anderson TD a couple of plays later.
The last fumble turned into FG as time expired.

20 points in just under 3 minutes. Just like that, Rome found themselves going from a 10-7 lead in a close game to being behind 27-10... Game over.

Good Game. I still need to work on my 4th QTR defense. We were lucky to win this one.

My defense decided to take the week off, I guess. A pretty ugly game from the Javelina this week.
