Online trading.......

I've got some money to throw around and I'm looking to do some online trading. Does anyone have any experience or advice on any online trading sites? Haven't really dug around much yet. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

I'm with Fidelity, with the caveat that I'm not day trading or anything. One thing I like is I got their AMEX card which does 2% rewards straight into the investment account.

It depends on what features are important to you. Do you need their research tools, or will you do that on your own on another site? Are lower commissions the most important factor? Do you want to short stocks? Smart Money (the magazine) does an annual writeup of all the major trading sites, I think it's on their website for free as well right now.

I'll check that out. Hadn't heard about that yet.

Scottrade is good if you're planning on buying/selling rather quick. Long term stuff I've always enjoyed Fidelity since they have amazing customer service. I believe everyone who you talk to on online chat or the phone has a degree in the field and extensive training. Had some lady walk me through all the stuff to setup a SEP-IRA a couple years ago and the advantages/disadvantages with it.
