No more RFA, either. That poll had most people preferring to drop it for simplicity. And given no one had used it for about 5 seasons (or more...) I don't feel as bad letting it go. But you can resign anyone you want between now and Monday night, who is on your team.

It's been a long time. 2nd place for the last three seasons, but finally saw a couple of the young guys step up. Maybe we'll make it past the first round this time!

Going to make tea and then get this show on the road. Well, going to do financials, then get tea and then do it. So a bit. (Need to know playoff shares.)

GETTYSBURG WINS THEIR 3RD STRAIGHT NL PENNANT AND 5TH PENNANT IN EIGHT YEARS

The last NL team to win three straight pennants were the 1853-55 Brooklyn Titans who lost in their attempt at a three-peat in 1855 after winning two straight.

Their opponent in that Sunset Series? The Memphis Smokers.

It's the Smokers 4th championship in franchise history. This was their 6th AL pennant in franchise history, their previous appearances in the Sunset Series came in '43, '44, '46, '47 and '55. This #2 title puts them in sole possession of 2nd place all-time behind Winnemucca's five championships. The 1856-58 Winnemucca Choo-Choos remain the only SLOP team to win three-straight titles.

Worth noting that Memphis opening day payroll was $41,280,000 and that they'd turned a profit before even making the post-season.

Ok, here's the numbers for next year. If you trade cash during the off-season, it comes off of your cap for this upcoming season. The opening day payroll is what we use for the spreadsheet only.

We'll do the draft and sim to the start of FA on Monday. Congrats to everyone.

The Phils are moving (back) to St. Louis. The Gomers own Pennsylvania. It was folly to think we could compete. (I mostly just missed the franchise history and had regrets about my move.)

The file is up. Have a good weekend.

Apparently the game didn't create a draft class. Oops.

Give me a minute.

That's a shock, to say the least. I guess this is what happens when you finally get some pitching.

Ok, download the new file folks. It has a draft class now. For all those who have noted talent inflation, now begins the time when you'll see it begin to dissipate. It'll take about ten years to cleanse the system, but that process begins now.

Anyway...for those who don't know where draft lists are, go to SLOP league menu, go to Transactions and then Draft Pool. On the draft pool menu, the 2nd tab is draft list.

Being new to the league, what do you mean about talent inflation and cleansing? Are there more superstars then there should be or something?

Sort of. We're at a point where there are so many players with high ratings, that you pretty much need a contact rating of 8 or 9 just to play in this league. Same with all the other rating categories.
You basically have 20 teams with 25 players with super ratings.

It's actually great for parity.
But it makes it hard to evaluate talent and it cuts down on transactions.

gomer nailed it. in this league ron jasko Player Report for #19 Ron Jasko with 9/7/7 ratings as a pitcher and 3 pitches at an 8 is a 1.5 star player.
