Arrow Sid Meier's Pirates! (board game)

An article from Wargamer.com:

Following its recent success with the Age of Mythology and Civilization III board games, Eagle Games announced on Wednesday a new partnership with Sid Meier's development studio Firaxis to produce a second board game, this time based on Meier's upcoming Pirates! title. As usual, the board game will be a tight interpretation of the new computer game: players will take the role of a pirate captain in the 17th Century Caribbean and raid shipping lanes, plunder towns, and engage in sword fights to win pirate fame and fortune. According to Eagle Games, the board game will feature the game mechanics of today's "Euro games" and the artwork of Paul Niemeyer and Jeff Menges, artists who have contributed to the work of Eagle Games' previous games.

“We are honored to be working with Sid Meier, Jeff Briggs, and the entire Firaxis team once again”, said Glenn Drover, President of Eagle Games. “Pirates! will certainly be another milestone in PC gaming and we are very excited to be able to offer gamers and families a boardgame version chock-full of great toys and dripping with pirate theme.”

“Eagle Games did such a fantastic job with Civilization: The Boardgame, and we have every confidence they’ll deliver another great experience with Pirates!”, commented Sid Meier. “The high quality of their games fits in so well with our philosophy here at Firaxis.”
