Really felt like Bust a Move was the single best shot we had of a fairly low seed to go all Cinderella in this tourney. Losing out to pom poms is... ugh.

I probably shouldn't be, but still surprised Tubthumping is laying the wood to Baby Got Back. I guess that's my latent hatred of Tubthumping.

I don't know if you can call the #14 song a "sleeper," but I had Baby Got Back as my pick of nontraditional OHWs to make a superdeep run. Sweet 16 is a bit of a disappointment to me. |

Dexy vs Quiet Riot - feels very reminiscent of the Twisted Sister vs Soft Cell match up from the previous pod. Synonymous OHW vs 80 hard rock tune. Similar results as well...thought this one might be closer given Dexy was only getting about 72.5% of the vote while QR was getting 71.3%.
Basil vs Young MC - I think QuickSand and Izulde rallied the troups for Bust A Move...following their posts Young MC received 6 of 8 votes. Chumbawamba vs Sir Mix-A-Lot - a win for Tubthumping, but despite being the 3 overall seed, they are only pulling 67% of the vote. That's the second lowest total of the 8 songs remaining. Modern English vs Divynals - based on previous votes this played out about how I expected. The next round could be interesting. |
