2197 Best Gloves Picked by CL
Friday, November 3rd, 2197 Making the play is the mark of great defenders. Spearing a liner, diving in the hole or crashing headlong into the wall makes no difference to these awe-inspiring fielders. Magicians they sometimes appear to be, showing up out of nowhere to rob a batter of a hit and to turn a hit into an out. Pitchers love 'em and batters curse 'em. These defensive wizards will collect their 2197 Continental League Best Fielder Awardss tonight: Pitcher: Juan Tobías (Leduc Bullets) Catcher: Tommy White (Apex Assassins) First Baseman: Luis Martínez (Baltimore Gothams) Second Baseman: Miguel Cruz (Cleveland Cyclones) Third Baseman: Orlando Núñez (Brooklyn Brownstones) Shortstop: Joe Gunter (Napa Valley Winemakers) Left Fielder: Julián Ortíz (Napa Valley Winemakers) Center Fielder: Dale O'Connor (Cleveland Cyclones) Right Fielder: Tim Tidwell (Napa Valley Winemakers) RL Announces 2197 Top Gloves Friday, November 3rd, 2197 What does it take to win a Best Fielder Awards? It's a combination of good hands, knowing how to play the hitters, all-out hustle and a willingness to sacrifice your body to make a play. Good speed and a good arm never hurt, either, but not always required. This year's all-defense team in the Republic League consists of: Pitcher: Heath Brennan (Colorado Rancheros) Catcher: Augusto Ramos (Atlanta Indians) First Baseman: Raúl López (Omaha Bees) Second Baseman: Dorian Dagenais (Hammersmith Hooligans) Third Baseman: Cooper Albrecht (Toronto Marlboros) Shortstop: Clyde von Buhl (Tokyo Catfish) Left Fielder: Chris Long (Colorado Rancheros) Center Fielder: Luis Sousa (Hartford Riverhawks) Right Fielder: Kien-lung Si (Omaha Bees) |

CL's Top Pitcher is Kogawa
Monday, November 6th, 2197 The Continental League announced today that Kanjiro Kogawa has been chosen the Gabriel Prado Award winner for 2197. The Leduc starter had everything working for him this past season as he soared to a 18-9 record. In his exceptional season Kogawa chalked up a 2.42 ERA in 241.2 innings with 185 strikeouts and 42 walks. Enemy teams hit .228 against him in his 38 starts. #1 RL Hurler Named Monday, November 6th, 2197 In the twilight of his career, Roberto Ruíz has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. The 35-year-old Marlboros starter hoisted up the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award earlier today, silencing critics who thought it was time for the "old man" to retire. Ruíz crafted an ERA of 3.00 as he won 17 games, dropped 10, fanned 180 and gave up 23 walks in 237 innings of work. |

I signed a lot of extensions, but that won't improve my rotation, since I didn't have good pitching there in the first place.

28 supplemental picks. Damn. That's a whole two more rounds-plus before you get to the "second" round.

I hate these supplemental picks. Can we vote to go to new comp eligibility?

I'd love to go to the new CBA rules, however, some people didn't like that.
