Jag, the ointment is of absorbing. Apply and absorb the next 15 points of damage. Better than Oil of Olay. Much more expensive, though, 200 gold for this stuff.

The gloves are of manual dexterity. You can trigger a trap better with these (20% better). Increases a scout's level to disarm, pick, or set traps by two. Big time for the price. 250 gold for this pair of bad boys.

Dubb, I'm sure you noticed when you got the cloak that the pattern on the back looks like a spider's web. What you may not have noticed is that the thread used is actually from the woven web strands of the giant Tetragnathidae, commonly known as the long-jawed spider. It takes a skillful artificer to manipulate webs like this.

The cloak itself is a Cloak of the Arachnid, and allows the wearer to climb up and down walls. It has no use in combat, but climbing walls could be a useful skill if you ever find yourself in a sticky situation.

Non scouts have an action to choose called Trigger Trap. If you find a trap, you can just Trigger it. Normally, you can;t find traps, but if you have something like a Wand of Trap Detection for example, it could happen that you simply cannot avoid the trap and instead have to trigger it.
