(Law) Judge issues 94 page order ripping business several new orifices.

KP on Twitter: "If a federal judge ever began a court order (94 pages long!!!) about me this way, I might just walk into the ocean. I'd beg you to yeet me into the sun's fiery maw as a mercy.

But it's not about me, so instead, you can join me as I schadenfreude my way through this order. 🧵 https://t.co/5k1FaL9J76… https://t.co/cnNLlbqsrp"

This whole thread.

Basically, they tried to win the case by not doing a damned thing for over a year, not responding to edits, judge's requests, discovery. Finally, the Judge has had ENOUGH and starts pulling out the ripping claws.

edit: Here's the thread unrolled, so you don't have to keep pushing "More replies"

That was long. I understood most of the words. I think that's bad if you're the opposing lawyer

Didn't Alex Jones also recently suffer a similiar judicial smackdown?

The judge in the Alex Jones case basically had less patience, and decided "Ok, as a result of you playing silly buggers, I find an appropriate remedy is that the other side's claims are taken as true. Which means you lose"

Here, apparently this cost a lawyer his job with a big partnership, and the USA Branch of a steel company in trouble.

I particularly liked the part where he tried to blame the judge.

That seems... sub-optimal.

This type of BS is why I wanted to only be a transactional lawyer. I once was forced to handle a fairly big case as a relative novice, and defense counsel basically lied over and over about witness availability for depositions and the judge was like, "good lawyering on both sides." Bullshit!

I have no patience for the kinds of games trial lawyers play. Another favorite was filing/receiving motions at 5pm on Friday. "Well, we likely won't win but we can at least ruin their weekend!"
