Dola Shot and Killed

Man fatally shot at entrance to Beverly Center [Updated] | L.A. Now | Los Angeles Times

Quote:
The man shot at the Beverly Center mall this afternoon was identified as Atlanta-based Dolla[sic], whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, according to his publicist, Sue Vannasing. She said Dolla[sic] was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, waited in the area after shopping at the popular Westside mall. A friend who was with the rapper at Beverly Center also confirmed his identity to The Times.

I started to post this last night when it popped up on the Atlanta newspaper site.

I learned all sorts of things about this guy I'd never heard of before he became a bullet stop.

-- he modeled for Diddy's Sean John line after his first rap group was a bust
-- he signed with Akon's Konvict Muzik label in May 2007 & his debut single was titled "Who the Fuck Is That?".
-- His second single was a tender ditty entitled "I'm Fucked Up"
-- other singles have included "I'm Tore Up" and "Good Pussy"
-- He had an altercation with rapper 2 Pistols at last year's BET Awards. Most accounts indicate that Dolla had the better end of what amounted to a one punch fight.

It's almost enough to make me want to hear Neil Boortz lament the loss of such a stellar individual.

I thought lordscarlet was telling us that *he* was shot and killed, but since he had just posted, he had to call it a dola.

Man, this guy may have been some sort of Nostradamus or something, his lyrics are downright spooky.

From the hit single "Who The Fuck Is That" (feat. T-Pain)

You be running when I shoot
I be shooting where you running

and

Got a lil Vendetta
Then bring out
The heavy metal
Pull up on that trigger

It's eerie.

I don't agree with his lyrics but I don't know I am not sure if I agree with the joking of his death. Too each his own.

When one dumbass underestimates the lack of logic in another dumbass, that's funny. As far as I'm concerned, that's two less dumbasses on the street that have the opportunity to kill an innocent bystander.

And from the unfortunate quotes department, his publicist said
Quote:
“He was being hyped as the next Tupac [Shakur].

Umm, well I guess the hype was right, sort of.

Don't do that. I will drag my rotting, maggot infested corpse to the nearest internet cafe and start the unholiest zombie vs. human flame war that's ever been witnessed.

If you make your living in a culture where violence is cool and awesome and all that (and you profit off of and promote that culture), is it sad when violence happens to them? It's definitely at least less sad.

Fucking assassins bullet takes down another fine young man with such a promising future

If 50 cent been shot nine times, and lived, I would assume dollar took at least 19 bullets. Unless he was Canadian. And not just merely "Canadian".

Yes, but, did 50cent take inflation into consideration?
