Reminder! Monday and Tuesday night Sims are 8pm ET starting next week

I mentioned this last week, but just wanted to remind everyone so I don't catch anyone off guard.

I actually have to do work Monday night at 9:30, router upgrades in California, so I'm hoping I'll be mostly done by then!

You guys ever hit the "Ask Bench Coach for Staff"" button for pitchers? It boggles my mind how the AI works. It's like it only uses the stars and that's it. I also wonder about the positions. When you change the position of the player, the stars and even the stats can change. It's crazy that changing a 3 star MR with a high stamina to a SP will take him to 1 star.

What are your thoughts on this. Do these things even matter?

I have the AI set my lineups and staff after I've moved the players to the level I want them to play at, but tend not to do it at the ML level. As for the players, the reason the stars changed is because the star rating is based on position, not overall. As for the pitchers, since starters tend to need more pitches to be effective than a reliever, the game changes their stuff ratings. So a MR/CL stuff ratings are inflated because they only need two pitches to be effective for an inning or two, thus when moved to SP their stuff rating goes down. Hope that made sense.

Perennial workhorse and all-world bat Mike "Don't call me Mel" Gibson is now a one star shell of his former self. I expected a drop but not this far this fast. He will play out his $15+ million days in AAA and hopefully retire at season's end.

Happened to Lorenzo Sanchez at 32 just a handful of seasons ago, too. Happened to Frank Dawson all those years ago. Maybe it's a first baseman thing.

And this is why I don't give out $15 M contracts.

Sorry to see what has happened to Gibson. It doesn't diminish the fact that he was truly great when he was at the top of his game.
