I was not high on this team for the course of the season, but think with my top 3 pitchers, I might be able to give Baltimore a run for their money in the playoffs, if we can pull it out.

Un-four-gettable: Hall Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, October 2nd, 2108: "Ladies and gentlemen, Nathan Hall has just hit for the cycle!" That was the call from the PA announcer as Hall collected the last hit he needed to complete the cycle today against the Winter Wolves. He collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored as Baltimore stopped Halifax 22-0 at Howler Meadow.

Hitting for the cycle is one of the most difficult feats in baseball at any level. The odds are really against a player hitting a single, double, triple and a home run in the same game.

"It's the last thing on my mind really. I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill," Hall told reporters after the game.

He may be right, but it's not every day that someone hits for the cycle. That's why his name will be placed in the record book.

N. Hall flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off K. Young in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Hall has a .314 average and a .381 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 170 hits, 31 home runs and driven in 112 runs.

fitting that the final three games for both Apex and myself are against each other, too bad it is at Apex, although both stadiums are the same.

Entering the final series of the season, Brooklyn and Apex play each other.

10/10:

Apex 80-79
Brooklyn 80-79

I guess the good news is that we won't have a sub-.500 team in the playoffs this year

Whichever team takes 2 games of this series makes the playoffs.

Over in the Republic League, Toronto and Hartford are fighting for homefield advantage in the RLCS, and they will play their final three games vs each other as well.

Brooklyn clinches a playoff spot as Apex is eliminated in their final game of the season.

Toronto 3, hartford 2

Toronto and Hartford have one more game to play and go into it tied. The winner of the last game has homefield advantage in the RLCS!

Huang finishes the season with a 27-3 record for Baltimore and a 2.57 ERA.

The last pitcher to win at least 27 games in a season was John Rodgers who won 28 for Edmonton back in 2036!

Huang is only the 8th pitcher in FOOL history to win 27 games in a season!

BAltimore hasn't played well the last 2 months...plus with the 100win curse, I am anything but confident about facing Brooklyn tomorrow.

Congrats to the playoff teams! Good luck tomorrow!

I think Hammersmith is going to have to re-jigger some things. The offense still looks good and set for the near future, with stars in the lineup and stars on the way, and then pen is solid. But my rotation has been falling apart for a few years now and this is clearly the nadir. And hardly any help is coming from the farm.

An unexpected trip to the playoffs for the Marlies. Looking at my team, I don't think we stand much of a chance. Good luck to the other teams tonight.

+1. I'm surprised to make it in as well with my lack of a #4 starter and downgraded hitting from last year. I thought I might have a chance in the season, but not so sure now, think I should be able to win 1 or 2 though.

On another note, it is really tough to determine if it is worth it to bring up AAA players and start their arbitration clock. Guess we will see how this goes, GL to the other playoff teams.
