We start up in 10 minutes!

I'm going to try to get this done fairly quickly tonight. I have a network change that I have to do for work at 9:30, so tight on time.

Briggs Twirls No-Hitter Against Brownstones
Tuesday, April 9th, 2109: In a brilliant performance at Howler Meadow, Halifax pitcher Dave Briggs entered an elite group today by tossing a no-hitter against the Brooklyn Brownstones. Hurling a complete game he fanned 9 and walked 0 in the 2-0 victory.

In the clubhouse, Briggs said, "I was getting my offspeed stuff over so they couldn't sit on the fastball. My guys made some nice plays behind me, too, and cut off several hits."

Reddy Wins RL Top Pitcher Award
Wednesday, May 1st, 2109: Herman Reddy took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award for April.

Republic League Picks April's Best Batter
Wednesday, May 1st, 2109: Free agent-to-be Luis Flores has inflated his asking price over the past 30 days by winning the Republic League Batter of the Month.

In April, the 28-year-old Hartford first baseman hit .372 with 5 home runs and 18 RBIs.

If he keeps putting numbers like that up, he could be hauling in a big wad of cash at this time next year.

CL Best Hitter Award to Noblesville's Chris Wrottesley

Wednesday, May 1st, 2109: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 28-year-old Chris Wrottesley put together a solid offensive month for Noblesville and was crowned April's top batter in the Continental League.

He batted .379 with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

Wednesday, May 1st, 2109: Youngster Juan Gutiérrez emerged as the latest Republic League Rookie of the Month today. We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Gutiérrez enjoy the limelight.

Nancekivell Shows Off, Hits for Cycle
Wednesday, June 19th, 2109: You might say Declan Nancekivell wore out his welcome with the Chico Rebels. The right fielder gave them fits in today's 11-5 Los Angeles victory by hitting for the cycle. "To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple, and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Nancekivell ended the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, he said, "After the first three hits, I thought to myself, This could be the game I hit for the cycle. And I got lucky and did it."

D. Nancekivell grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off R. Naismith in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.

In 68 games Nancekivell is hitting .233 this season with 64 hits, 7 home runs, 33 RBIs, 25 walks, .306 OBP and has scored 34 runs.

Nakashima Nabs RL #1 Pitcher Award
Monday, July 1st, 2109: Veteran Ryoma Nakashima put together quite a successful stretch in June for the Hartford Harpooners, earning himself the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

Nakashima racked up a 4-0 record in 5 starts, posting a 0.61 ERA over 29.2 innings and striking out 26.

Thus far this season, Nakashima has worked 104 innings with 57 strikeouts en route to a 9-2 record and a 2.68 ERA.

June's #1 Starter Named in CL
Monday, July 1st, 2109: Philippe Vézina left little doubt in the minds of Continental League officials that he should be named June's Pitcher of the Month for his outstanding performance.

"I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Vézina. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down."

The 27-year-old tossed 43.1 innings of quality baseball -- going 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA and 39 strikeouts.

On the season Vézina has a 8-3 record with a 2.97 ERA.

RL Pitcher of the Month Goes to Gonzáles
Sunday, September 1st, 2109: Lorenzo Gonzáles was the anchor in the Los Angeles bullpen last month and snatched up the Republic League Pitcher of the Month honors for August. The 31-year-old is in the prime of his career and pitching like he intends to stay around baseball for quite some time to come.

He threw 20 innings over 11 relief appearances and collected a 4-0 record with 19 strikeouts and 4 saves while etching his 2.25 ERA.

Looking at his pitching stats so far this season, Gonzáles has 50 relief appearances, pitched 78.1 innings and fashioned a 9-5 record with a 2.99 ERA. He has recorded 21 saves, struck out 57 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .283 when he is on the hill.

Ramírez Earns August's Best Pitcher Honor
Sunday, September 1st, 2109: Jorge Ramírez nailed down August's Continental League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on Apex to get a deal done before the 34-year-old becomes a free agent.

Ramírez seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 5-1 record, reeled off 14 strikeouts, worked 44.1 innings and held batters to a .274 average for the month as he posted a 2.64 ERA.

This season Ramírez has gone 15-13 with an ERA of 4.59, posting 75 strikeouts in 188.1 innings.

Molina Takes RL's Best Bat Award
Sunday, September 1st, 2109: César Molina of the Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines spoke softly and carried a big stick in August and was justifiably proclaimed the Republic League Batter of the Month.

This season Molina is batting .319 with 31 home runs. His totals include 85 RBIs and 75 runs scored.

CL Choice for Batter of the Month is Shimizu
Sunday, September 1st, 2109: Though his face is weathered and his hands are calloused, Eisuke Shimizu can still get it done in Front Office Offseason League. In fact, the 32-year-old third baseman for Baltimore was named the Continental League Batter of the Month today after putting up an impressive performance at the plate.

In August he batted .404 with 7 home runs, 31 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

In 124 games this season Shimizu has batted at a .327 pace with 160 hits and 18 home runs.

The two teams remain tied after the last game of the season. They will play a best of three series to determine which team makes the playoffs.

Colorado led the regular season series 14-13, so will have two games at home in the best of three series.
