Without looking at another roster, and highly dependent upon me signing all 4 guys I offered contracts to, I think I will be right around 4th. GL to all the teams this season though.

Trudel Shuts the Door on Tokyo, Records 300th Save.
Sunday, April 13th, 2110: With one well-thrown pitch, Halifax's 37-year-old reliever Simon Trudel found himself a new place in the record books. As the teams left the field at the end of the Winter Wolves 4-1 win over Tokyo Cyclones, the official scorer gave Trudel the save, making him the newest member of the 300-save club. The Sony Park crowd recognized this outstanding achievement with a standing ovation as he made his way to the dugout.

So far in his career Trudel has appeared in 974 games and saved 300 games. His lifetime record is 69-65 with 1150 strikeouts and 330 walks in 1176 innings and his ERA stands at 2.52.

RL Batter of the Month Honors to Molina
Thursday, May 1st, 2110: In April, César Molina swung a sweet bat and put together a solid month to win the Republic League Batter of the Month.

The Ann Arbor first baseman batted .375 with 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

Noblesville's Wrottesley CL #1 Batter in April
Thursday, May 1st, 2110: Chris Wrottesley is in the final year of his contract with Noblesville and today added a timely piece of hardware to his trophy case. Playing in 27 games in April the 29-year-old right fielder ripped Continental League pitchers for a .258 batting average, nabbing him the Batter of the Month award.

He also rang up 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

If Wrottesley keeps up this pace, he'll cost someone a lot of money.

Rúbio Dominates Noblesville

This season Rúbio has a 2-2 mark in 6 starts with a 3.30 ERA. He has given up 41 hits in 43.2 innings, struck out 11 and issued 6 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .256 batting average against him.

Ruíz RL Choice for Best Pitcher
Sunday, June 1st, 2110: Roberto Ruíz has been around the league long enough to know that relievers are often overlooked. That has never stopped him from doing what he does best -- and he did it extremely well in May and stole away with the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

The Marlboros bullpen ace collected 4 saves and 14 strikeouts in 14.1 innings, holding the opposition to a .070 average and posting a 0.63 ERA and a 3-0 record.

To date this season Ruíz has 10 saves with a 4-0 mark and 1.59 ERA.

Tokyo Starter Named CL's Best Pitcher
Sunday, June 1st, 2110: Larry Harris nailed down May's Continental League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on Tokyo to get a deal done before the 29-year-old becomes a free agent.

Harris seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 3-0 record, reeled off 33 strikeouts, worked 36.2 innings and held batters to a .153 average for the month as he posted a 0.98 ERA.

Up to now Harris has compiled an ERA of 2.82 with a 5-3 mark over 13 starts. He has 61 strikeouts in 76.2 innings and has held opponents to a .211 batting average.

Coronado Hits for the Cycle
Monday, June 30th, 2110: Hitting for the cycle is defined as hitting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. How often does that happen? Not very often, especially considering that a cycle is a microcosm of what makes a complete hitter -- he must possess power (homer), speed (triple) and make regular contact (four hits).

Well, Juan Jose Coronado is a complete hitter -- at least for one ballgame. Today at Baltimore Field he hit for the cycle to lead Baltimore Gothams to a 7-6 win over the Tokyo Cyclones. All told in the game Coronado delivered 4 hits in 4 at-bats with 2 RBI and 1 run scored.

He admitted to the press in the postgame interview, "Lotta luck in hitting for the cycle. Several unique things have to come together... all in the same game."

J. Coronado hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off R. West in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.

In the current season, Coronado has put up a .292 batting average with 71 hits, 12 home runs, 49 runs batted in and scored 46 runs.

RL Announces June's Best Starter
Tuesday, July 1st, 2110: Julián López's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-2 in June, the 31-year-old Chico hurler has been named Republic League Pitcher of the Month.

Currently López has a 9-6 won-lost record in 16 starts with a 2.97 ERA. He also has 91 strikeouts in 115.1 innings.

Stanislaw Premier Pitcher in June

Tuesday, July 1st, 2110: As Brenden Stanislaw hoisted up the Continental League Pitcher of the Month trophy for June, rumors have already begun to swirl about whether he will leave Apex once his contract is up at the end of the season.

Stanislaw put pressure on the Assassins to keep him around by posting a 4-0 record and an ERA of 1.76 over 41 innings last month. He also rolled up 26 strikeouts, increasing his value both to Apex and to every other team in the league.

To date this season Stanislaw sports a 8-2 mark with a 2.80 ERA in 16 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .237 batting average and has 73 strikeouts in 109.1 innings.

Luis Flores Winner in Republic League
Tuesday, July 1st, 2110: Luis Flores battered Republic League pitchers all June and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around Front Office Offseason League long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 29-year-old Flores told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I may not take the field and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 27 games, Flores hit .359 with 8 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 15 runs.

Flores is currently batting .325 with 14 home runs and 62 RBIs.

The first baseman put up some good offensive figures as he hit .355 with 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2110: Francisco Miranda earned June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Republic League for last month's performance. The boyish Chico first baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

RL's #1 Starter is Cruz
Friday, August 1st, 2110: It was a very good month for Alfonso Cruz in July. The 35-year-old veteran starter for the Los Angeles Bruins outpitched everybody -- young and old -- to claim the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award earlier today.

Cruz ran up a 5-0 record in his 5 starts during the month. In 37.2 innings he fanned 25 and recorded a 2.39 ERA.

This season Cruz has compiled a 9-10 record with a 3.73 ERA.

July's Premier Pitcher Announced By CL

Friday, August 1st, 2110: Kyle Tickner had an excellent July and has been rewarded with the Continental League Pitcher of the Month Award. The Napa Valley relief ace was one tough customer on the mound, constantly coming in and getting his club out of trouble or protecting a one-run or two-run lead.

During the month, the Winemakers star had no saves in no save opportunities, a 0.69 ERA and 4 wins and no losses. In 39 innings Tickner struck out 28 and gave up 24 hits and 7 walks.

To date this year Tickner has fashioned a 2.71 ERA over 129.1 innings with a 11-5 record. He has made no relief appearances with 76 strikeouts and no saves.

RL Presents Batter of Month Trophy to Fujimoto
Friday, August 1st, 2110: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 28-year-old Toyoharu Fujimoto put together a solid offensive month for Toronto and was crowned July's top batter in the Republic League.

He batted .420 with 2 home runs, 20 RBIs and 19 runs scored.

Presently Fujimoto is batting .290 with 110 hits and 11 home runs. He has knocked in 73 runs and scored 69 times.

CL Top Batter Trophy Won by Luna
Friday, August 1st, 2110: In the last year of his deal with Noblesville, Víctor Luna has created some waves by winning July's Continental League Batter of the Month title today.

He put up a solid .324 batting average with 11 home runs, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He also worked CL pitchers for 6 walks and a .407 on-base percentage.

If he keeps churning out numbers like these, the 33-year-old is sure to draw some attention, when contract time rolls around.

A look at his current stats shows Luna with a .265 average, 20 home runs, 58 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has played in 83 games.

Ann Arbor Rookie Hits His Way to RL Honor
Friday, August 1st, 2110: Youngster Júlio Díaz emerged as the latest Republic League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Ann Arbor deserved the honor, batting .329 with 5 home runs and 13 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Díaz enjoy the limelight.

This year Díaz has 11 home runs and a .295 batting average.

Brooklyn Shortstop July's Premier Rookie
Friday, August 1st, 2110: The batter wants to "hit 'em where they ain't." And that is just what John Lindsey did all month long to net the Continental League Rookie of the Month Award.

In July he slapped 25 hits in 94 at-bats for a .266 batting average. Lindsey also racked up 1 home run, 13 RBIs, and 12 runs scored.

Rebels End Kishita's Streak
Friday, August 29th, 2110: Lady Luck was not on the side of Akihiro Kishita or his teammates today at Ballpark of Toronto. Everything went the Chico Rebels way. They not only came away with a 5-4 victory, but also held Kishita hitless in 4 at-bats to put an end to the second baseman's 32-game hitting streak.

"It was a good run," Kishita said afterward. "But it'd be much easier to take right now if we had won."

This year Kishita has socked 141 hits in 479 at-bats for a .294 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .344 pace and his totals also include 40 RBIs and 66 runs scored.

Homer #300 for Halifax's Alemán
Friday, September 19th, 2110: Carlos Alemán circled the bases and raised his arm in triumph. He had finally hit his 300th home run. It was a homer for a lot of people: himself; his teammates past and present; his former managers and coaches; and especially his family, who sat near the plate cheering his every at-bat during the past few games.

Alemán spoke with BNN and said, "I knew number 300 would come sooner or later. I had to keep reminding myself, 'Relax, relax, just let it happen, let it happen.' And it finally did."

His milestone homer came in the Halifax Winter Wolves 3-2 win over the Apex Assassins. Alemán went 1 for 3 in the game, scored 1 run, and batted in 2.

Alemán has played in 1770 games with a .260 lifetime batting average. Among his 1828 hits are 363 doubles, 48 triples and 300 home runs. He also has scored 1078 runs and driven in 1064 runs.

Pretty wide open race still in the CL!

Hartford has a magic number of 3 in the RL for the first playoff spot

Hartford has clinched a playoff spot and homefield advantage in the RLCS!

5 teams in the CL fighting for 2 spots while 3 teams in the RL fight for the last spot there
