Hutchinson Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Colorado
Saturday, June 11th, 2135: Nathan Hutchinson's 33-game hitting streak was snapped today at Ballpark of Colorado. The 27-year-old Hooligans right fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game with the Colorado Rancheros, but Hammersmith came out the winner, topping them 3-2.

One of his teammates told BNN, "The streak was no big deal to Nathan. He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames. That's the bottom line."

Presently Hutchinson is batting .344 with 4 home runs and 29 RBIs. He has played in 62 games and scored 45 times.

June's Best Hurler in RL is Kim
Friday, July 1st, 2135: Chin Kim took home the Republic League Pitcher of the Month honors in June. After all these years playing ball, the 35-year-old veteran still enjoys the game as though he'd just broken camp for the first time a month ago. He's a bit older now with a few more aches and pains, but the old man has reason to celebrate, having gone 4-1 for Colorado last month and claiming the Pitcher of the Month award.

He tacked up a 2.42 ERA in his 6 starts, tossing 44.2 innings and striking out 27.

This season-to-date Kim has 9 wins and 4 losses and a 3.71 ERA.

Hernández Nets CL #1 Pitcher Award
Friday, July 1st, 2135: In June, when the name of Luis Hernández appeared on the Baltimore lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 4 times and chalked up 4 wins and no losses. With those stats it was a also a virtual lock that he would be named the Continental League Pitcher of the Month.

Hernández shackled opposing batters on 25 base hits and a .205 batting average. He rang up 30 strikeouts in 33 innings of work, surrendered 7 walks and fashioned a sparkling 1.09 ERA.

In 14 starts this season Hernández has rung up a 12-1 record and a 2.27 ERA.

Ohayashi Takes RL's Best Bat Trophy
Friday, July 1st, 2135: Tokuma Ohayashi hit the baseball with consistency all month long and was voted the Republic League's Batter of the Month for June.

The Hartford third baseman batted .375 and posted 8 home runs, 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He also drew 13 walks for a .465 OBP.

In 77 games this season Ohayashi has compiled a .276 batting average with 79 hits and 10 home runs. He has also scored 47 times and knocked in 34 runs.

Weng Picks Up Best CL Batter Honors for June

Friday, July 1st, 2135: Hiang-ta Weng received the Continental League Batter of the Month trophy earlier today for his efforts at the plate this last month.

"He might be getting older," Baltimore's manager told reporters, "But he's been around long enough to know what it takes to put a stretch such as this together... and he doesn't keep that to himself. He's always talking to the younger guys in the clubhouse helping 'em any way they'll let him. Hiang-ta's value to our team goes farther than the numbers he puts up on the field."

To win the honor Weng put up a .344 batting average, 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and scored 26 times in June.

So far this year Weng has hit .256 with 13 home runs, 58 RBIs and 47 runs scored.

Snyder Picked RL's Top Newcomer
Friday, July 1st, 2135: Roy Snyder was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 21-year-old left fielder definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen June's Republic League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 27 games Snyder batted .308 for Hartford, slapping 28 hits in 91 at-bats with 4 home runs, drove in 17 runs and scored 15 times.

So far in 2135 Snyder is batting .273 with 9 home runs, 42 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 66 hits in 242 at-bats and a .364 OBP.

Ramey Honored by Continental League

Friday, July 1st, 2135: Dusty Ramey sizzled last month as he put together a successful bid for the Continental League Rookie of the Month.

In June the Napa Valley Winemakers shortstop banged out 18 hits and 6 home runs for a solid .281 average. He also scored 7 runs and drove in 18.

In OOTP11 and OOTP12, the all star lists are not ordered any more in the order of "performance" so being at the bottom of the list is not a huge deal any more.

Dittrich Socks 300th HR
Tuesday, September 6th, 2135: Toronto Marlboros slugging left fielder Joss Dittrich swatted his way to the 300 home run mark today as the Marlboros fell to the Ann Arbor 7-4.

For his part, Dittrich chipped in 3 RBI, scored 1 run and collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but it was not enough to turn the tide.

"It was a special day for Joss," the team publicist said afterward, "He was disappointed at the result, but everyone was all smiles as he crossed home plate. We're proud of him."

During his career Dittrich has hit .283 with 1888 hits, 300 home runs, 1200 RBIs and scored 1124 runs.

Phil Murphy Records 300th Save, Tames Toronto 1-0
Monday, September 12th, 2135: Rancheros closer Phil Murphy has faced many pressure situations, but rarely does the pressure affect him. Today was no different in a 1-0 Colorado victory as the 31-year-old pitcher registered a historic milestone - his 300th save of his career. "We feel that a lead is in good hands whenever Phil gets the ball," one of his teammates said after the game. Murphy reached the 300-save plateau by holding the Toronto Marlboros to no runs and 1 hit in 1 innings of work.

Murphy has totaled 300 saves in his career. In 587 games, he has a 58-57 won-lost mark, 3.56 ERA and 704 strikeouts in 804.2 innings.

Mathis Rips HR Number 400
Monday, September 19th, 2135: Christian Mathis circled the bases and raised his arm in triumph. He had finally hit his 400th home run. It was a homer for a lot of people: himself; his teammates past and present; his former managers and coaches; and especially his family, who sat near the plate cheering his every at-bat during the past few games.

Mathis spoke with BNN and said, "I knew number 400 would come sooner or later. I had to keep reminding myself, 'Relax, relax, just let it happen, let it happen.' And it finally did."

His milestone homer came in the Hartford Harpooners 9-1 win over the Toronto Marlboros. Mathis went 2 for 3 in the game, scored 2 runs, and batted in 3.

Lifetime Mathis is hitting .296 with 1929 hits, 400 home runs, 1081 runs scored and 1200 RBIs.

Saturday, October 1st, 2135: The Pitcher of the Month has been picked and the Republic League trophy went to Colorado hurler Scott Osborn for his strong performance in September.

So far this year Osborn has made 30 starts, tossed 199 innings, struck out 151 batters and walked 72. His record is 13-7 with a 3.12 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .244 batting average.

Hutchinson Wins RL's Best Bat Award
Saturday, October 1st, 2135: Nathan Hutchinson of the Hooligans hit .481 in September with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 31 runs scored to capture a majority of votes for the Republic League Batter of the Month trophy.

The 27-year-old is in the last year of his contract and will undoubtedly use these numbers to try and bring in a huge pay raise.

In his stats this season, Hutchinson has posted a batting average of .381 with 238 hits in 625 at-bats, 19 home runs and 93 RBIs. He has also scored 125 runs, walked 85 times and compiled a .456 OBP.

Napa Valley's Santana Winner, CL Best Hitter in September

Saturday, October 1st, 2135: There's nothing like putting up good, solid numbers in the last year of your contract. Today Sancho Santana helped his contract negotiations by nabbing September's Continental League Batter of the Month honors.

The Napa Valley right fielder put together a .333 batting average with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Someone will surely be opening up the vault this offseason if Santana continues at this brisk pace.

Currently Santana is batting .270 with 26 home runs, 85 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

Snyder Wins RL Rookie Award
Saturday, October 1st, 2135: Hartford's Roy Snyder collected 25 hits to snare the Republic League Rookie of the Month for September.

He batted .298 with 11 home runs, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

The 21-year-old is barely old enough to shave, but he could definitely contend for Rookie of the Year if he keeps up this pace.

This season Snyder has hit at a .256 clip with 80 RBIs, 25 home runs and 74 runs scored.

CL Best Rookie Award Announced
Saturday, October 1st, 2135: Vicente Román is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Continental League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

In September the Baltimore hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .299 average with 26 hits, no home runs and 12 RBIs.

Thus far this season Román has hit .266 with 14 home runs, 80 RBIs and scored 67 times.

Ann Arbor 90-71
Hammersmith 89-72
Hartford 89-73

Hammersmith has one game left at Ann Arbor to finish out the season, while Hartford is done.

If Ann Arbor wins, they clinch homefield advantage in the RLCS while Hammersmith and Hartford have to play a best of three series to determine which teams makes the playoffs.

If Hammersmith wins, they will clinch the final playoff spot, eliminating Hartford, forcing Hammersmith and Ann Arbor to play one more game to determine which team will win homefield advantage in the RLCS.

Ann Arbor scores 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th on 3 walks, 1 single and 2 players hit by a pitch to clinch homefield advantage in the RLCS!

Ann Arbor 7, Hammersmith 4

Hartford and Hammersmith will play a best of 3 series to determine which team makes the postseason. Hammersmith led the regular season series between the two teams 15-12, so will host 2 of the 3 games.
