Today we get a chance for redemption against division rival Las Vegas. A loss here would mean a sweep for them, which I suppose I could live with because I'd have no other choice but to die. Thus, we need to win. It would also be nice to maintain our 2 game lead on Honolulu (9-4).

Oh, and we're still without Stoltzfus.

First, we attempt an ill-advised 52 yard field goal with under two minutes remaining. If we punt it there Vegas will have, at minimum, an 80-yard field to traverse in very little time. If make the FG we have a 7-point lead, if we miss it we give them great field position. Of course, the worst possible outcome is what happened, and then the penalty flags started flying. Three straight plays netted them 25 free yards, setting Olsen up perfectly. Unbelievable.

Still, we're 11-3 and maintain a 2-game lead thanks to an Arizona upset over Honolulu.

We're catching Durham during a transition period, as their longtime QB Edward Kimber retired last offseason. That means we'll get to see 2nd-year man JJ Reid today, who has great potential but is currently very shaky. Still, they've got receiver Michael Browning ready to go, and he can be a game-changing force.

That was kind of a weird game. Statistically we were fairly even, and we weren't too far apart on turnovers. In fact, we were penalized over twice as much yardage as Durham, yet we managed to blow them out. I'm not sure how that happened, aside from our better field position. Hmph.

We're now 12-3 and have officially claimed the best record in the league this season. Thus, we've got homefield advantage locked up for the playoffs. That means we'll be resting some guys next week.

I desperately want to beat the snot out of Arizona for the loss they handed us earlier this season, but I more desperately want to be healthy for the playoffs. So, most of our starters are benched or have had their PT scaled back for this meaningless contest.

Revenge is mine!

I'm quite surprised by this result, as we had a lot of backups out there today, and Goodwin was pulled for the 2nd half. Go figure.

That puts us at 13-3 to end the season, which marks the 2nd-best regular season record in club history (last year we were 14-2). Next up: team summary.

A few comments:

- I heart Kent Goodwin. The guy set new club records for passing yards, TD passes, and QB Rating (98.1). I hope to god that he translates into FOF2k7 well, as we're sunk without him.

- Drew Holliday managed his 7th-straight 1000 yard rushing season despite missing several games to injury. He's now 10th in league history with 9611 rushing yards on 2189 carries (4.39 avg). He's 2nd in league history with 68 rushing TDs. His career is likely winding down due to age/injury, and I fear what 2k7 will do to this poor guy. But he's been a great part of our offense for a long time.

- Demetrius Higginbotham set new career highs with 58 receptions and 911 yards. He's now ranked 30th in league history, and tops in club history, with 6658 receiving yards.

- Freddie Housley set a new team record with 13 TD catches this season.

- We set new club records for points per game (28.4), passing yards (277.4) and total yards (408).

- When we could wheel Stoltzfus onto the field he was great. His 8 sacks were tops on the team.

- Unsung hero of the year: DE Albert Horn. Albert is a situational pass rusher, and nabbed 7.5 sacks and 27 hurries in part-time duty.

Next up: the playoffs!
