Thumbs up Your Rock and Roll Fantasy

If you're like me, you have on occasion daydreamed about getting to be a rock star and performing in concert to a packed stadium. After all, that's what Guitar Hero and Rock Band were all about. This thread is your chance. For one performance, you get to live whatever rock and roll dream you'd like. Choose the band you'd be in, which member of the band you'd be, and what the set list would be. You will instantly have the voice or the playing ability of whatever musician you'd like. This is YOUR fantasy, so the set list should be what you'd enjoy performing most, not what would necessarily be the most popular set list. In fantasy land, the fans will know and love the same obscure songs that you do.

You have two hours, including the encores. The crowd is chanting for you. It's time to go out on the stage...

I would have sworn this thread would have been about scoring with loads of smoking hot chicks on the road. Oh well, you can have your fantasy and I can have mine.

Because I grew up in the Arena Rock era, and that was the rock life I fantasized about as a kid, I'll limit myself to choosing from those 70s and 80s bands that fit this bill. And from that group I'd choose to be Steve Perry of Journey, if only because of his amazing pipes (and that beautiful, beautiful hair; Freddie Mercury/Queen would be a close second). The set list:

Escape
Line of Fire
Separate Ways
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'
Who's Crying Now
After The Fall
La Do Da
Keep on Runnin'
Where Were You
Ask The Lonely
Lights
Walks Like a Lady
Faithfully
Open Arms
Still They Ride
Feelin That Way
Chain Reaction
Stone in Love
Rubicon
Wheel In The Sky

Encore:
Don't Stop Believin'
Any Way You Want It

PS - yes, for these purposes I am pretending everything after "Frontiers" never happened.

I would be in the band Live. Ed and Chad Taylor would have to be on stage with me, they were the band, so I could be the bassist or drummer, whatever.

The set list:

The Dam at Otter Creek
Pain Lies on the Riverside
The Beauty of Gray
I Alone
Shit Towne
Waitress
Freaks (My 2nd personal favorite to hear live)
Rattlesnake
Voodoo Lady
Dolphin's Cry
Dance with You (my wedding song!)
I walk the Line (cover)
Selling the Drama
Heaven (only because Ed would throw a pissy fit and walk off stage if he didn't get to do a song about his daughters. Its a fine song though)
All Over You

Encore:
Lightning Crashes
Lakini's Juice (the greatest live and Live song ever, by anyone)
White, Discussion (the only way to end a Live concert, unless it is post 1995 and you are Live )

I'd pay big $$ just to see them together one more time and do this set list.

It is blasphemy to suggest that a Rush concert last under 3 hours so mine will add an hour. After all there are 15-20 minute classics to be played not to mention movies and animations.

I shall be Geddy Lee.

Set One:
Three Stooges Theme into Subdivisions
Mystic Rhythms
Old Medley: Fly By Night/A Farewell to Kings/Working Man/Anthem/Lakeside Park/The Trees
The Camera Eye
Digital Man
Red Barchetta
2112: Overture/Temples of Syrinx
Far Cry
Afterimage
Natural Science

Set Two:
Distant Early Warning
Roll the Bones
The Mission
Between the Wheels
Hemispheres: Book Two
Vital Signs
The Body Electric
Witchhunt
Force Ten

Encore 1:
YYZ
The Main Monkey Business

Encore 2:
Driven
Freewill

Encore 3:
Tom Sawyer

My second entry is Genesis. I will be Peter Gabriel up until he leaves, then I will switch to Phil Collins. That way I can do some awesome drumming as well and still be surrounded by the genius of Steve Hackett and Tony Banks. (and wear of Gabriel's weird costumes)

Set One:
Dancing With the Moonlit Knight
Firth of Fifth
Watcher of the Skies
Dusk
Am I Very Wrong
White Mountain
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
In the Cage
The Lamia
It
Get Em Out By Friday
Supper's Ready

Set Two:
Dance of the Volcano
Squonk
Me and Mary Jane
Ripples
All in a Mouse's Night
Blood On The Rooftop
Lurker/Dodo
Behind the Lines
Duchess
Mad Mad Moon
Cul de Sac
Just a Job to Do
Keep It Dark
Taking It All Too Hard
Mama

Encore
Turn It On Again
The Last Domino
Trick of the Tail
Home By The Sea
The Musical Box
