Help Me Pick My Next Game

I realized that I was up again soon on the hosting list and I can't decide what I want to do as my next game. I'm hoping you'd indicate what games you'd be interested in playing. Here's what I'm thinking about:

Survivor 2 - This wasn't really on my radar until I was talking to Lathum about it and then reread the thread. Basically it's a game of Survivor with WW elements. In the sequel the WW elements would likely be amped up a bit. Basically the goal is to "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" the other players.

To Crown a King 3 - This game is the most refined of any of my games (being on the 4th version, as a different version was played on another board). The premise of this game is that you are rewarded for voting correctly as you attempt to crown an ally of yours King or Queen.

Cathedral 2 - A multi-sided game as the villagers attempt to build a Cathedral and are helped, or hindered, by supernatural forces. Everyone has a role in this game.

High School of Horrors - Theme isn't finalized but this would be an object and location game, complete with map.

When coming up with a new game I normally try and think of something in werewolf I like (such as multi-sides for Cathederal) or an aspect of the game that I want to amplify (such as voting accurately for To Crown a King) and base a game off of that. If you have a different mechanic or aspect that you would like to see in a game, I would gladly take an other suggestion.

A quick note is that TCAK and High School of Horrors would be difficult to run as 24 hour games and would likely feature distinct day and night phases.

I liked the first Cathedral game. I think that was my favorite game of yours.

Wow, tough choice. As someone who (obviously) loves monstrous games, Survivor was crack to me -- with all those threads going on at once, and a ton of side stuff to keep us entertained. But Cathedral was a lot of fun, and could be a lot better with some tweaking (and a better understanding of the rules by those playing), I think. And I know it's not on the list, but just this morning I was thinking that Money was a really good game. I dunno, man.

I'm not really interested in running another Money game at the moment. I really enjoyed the way that game played out, but I don't have anything I would substantially change and the idea of running the exact same game twice, isn't appealing to me.

How would we play two games at once? That would be crazy.

I voted for Cathedral because it sounds pretty damn interesting and I'd like to take part in the sequel.

I bet you could using a theme based on that movie where they actually played a live version of werewolf/mafia, but little did they know they were all a part of a bigger game of WW played out around them!

On second thought, that wasn't a very good movie and probably wouldn't make for a great game either

I think Cathedral was the closest I ever came to a WW meltdown, so that would be fun to relive. Good times.

Careful now...you're going to make me want to run my next game as having a 'game within a game' going on. And I'm just crazy enough to actually do that!

I actually think the idea of running fairly simple rule set with the same players in two games simultaneously is an idea with merit. Sometimes with games we think that things are unbalanced because it goes to one side or another. It would be interesting to see how the same players play with the same rules in slightly different ways.

That is pretty amazing odds.. considering I've played in a very high number of games and never have been the duke in any of them!

I think you were Gabriel, and I was the other angel. Anxiety was Lucifer, and the vote was between the two of you. We were almost done building the cathedral, which was our goal for major victory, and I kept trying to get the villagers to work on the cathedral instead of voting for you. I was pretty adamant about it, and got a lot of heat, especially from oliegirl, and my "acting suspicious" made more people think you were the bad guy, rather than Anxiety. In the end, I got enough people to build the cathedral, but it was frustrating that I was asking the village to do something that helped their own victory conditions, and I still wasn't getting any trust.

Also, cronin, I think you were sick the day you got lynched, which might be why you don't remember it. But you were pretty much incapacitated, so it was up to me to defend you, which is, of course, a big mistake.

Listen if you want to be a vet you have to be around for a bit Lathum. Don't take it personally, I just don't know if playing in the first game, and regularly since then qualifies you. If you play a little more maybe you'll develop a reputation for yourself.

LOL, I had totally forgotten about that game! I think Pass got so worked up at me that he even was compelled to send a PM saying "it's all just the game, nothing personal". I figured out I was pushing his buttons and then just kept pushing them - it was hysterical!

Good thing Pass knows I (heart) him

Oh man.. I would play spawn3 in a heartbeat if it was an option. I still vote Spawn2 as my favorite game I ever played in. I think that was probably the most fun I've had in a WW game ever as a player.

Even if I was so busy with work that week to make playing a WW game difficult, I would consider taking off a day or two just to play Spawn3..

Ok, maybe not that far, but you get the point!

Is that the game where Anxiety and I were brothers? I think it might be. Must have died early because I don't remember the game that well.

Spawn would be my first choice as well, also the treasure hunt game.

But until and unless I can find a way to access from work I think I'm on hiatus for awhile.....

Spawn needs, I feel, at least 18 people and I have trouble seeing a game like Spawn getting 18 people at this point in time.

You could start signups saying "this will be spawn 3 if we get 18 people, otherwise it will be _____". You may get 18 people that way.

Jackyl is talking of reviving tsw mafia, but there isnt a lot of interest, there are still a few people we could pull over from there if need be!

(althouhg I think I invited all the good ones already)

So. It's time. Is it Cathedral 2, or was the popular vote "just a suggestion"?
