For Family Guy Fans
Family Guy
I just ran across this news after happening across Planet Family Guy, can we dare to dream? That seems to be pretty good numbers for what was basically a "flop" in the ratings, I wonder what the chances are of someone nabbing it up? Would Fox own any sort of rights to it? I'm not sure how that works. I just thought this was great news, I hope something can come from this, and I'm glad to hear the DVD is selling so well. It's funny, because I was at the Virgin Megastore the other day, and they were playing episodes on the TV there, and there was just a huge crowd of people watching the shows and busting up laughing. Just makes you wonder what Fox was thinking. |

Well, if you have the Cartoon Network they show it along with Futurama on different nights down here, but I don't believe you could bring it back and expect it to be the same.

Going to pick up the DVDs in a few days or so. If they could make new episodes, that'd be great and put it in FOX's face for replacing The Simpsons with the soon-to-be cancelled "Oliver Hausenmeyer"

I'm sure one can have a pretty funny DVD collection with all the animated shows that Fox has canceled .

Or all the shows that FOX has canceled. Space Above and Beyond was actually a good one until FOX replaced it with L.A Firefighters,a show which lasted shorter than the Second Gulf War. I'm hearing Fastlane is getting canned, it was a good series except for the stereotypical guy with long hair and his angry looking partner. I know Oliver Beener will be cancelled because the show doesn't get anymore laughs or higher ratings than Scarborough Country. Other shows that have been canceled are Futurama, The Simpsons (shown only on Sundays now), Greg the Bunny, and Family Guy (that was a year ago).
It's time we do a regime change on Rupert Murdoch's ass. |

In Austin, we get 2 Simpsons episodes per weekday, at 6:00 and 10:00. Jealous?

We cut back to one about a year ago
As for Space Above and Beyond, I enjoyed it. My mom loved it because it basically followed the story of World War II but put it in space. She would sit there and tell me what battle the episode was supposed to be based on. SI

Here in Edmonton, I think you can catch at least three to four simpson episodes a night...it seems every channel carries it here!

Don't forget that FOX (and later ABC) cancelled the "Critic" in the mid-90's. That show rocked.

It was actually the other way around. ABC killed it first then FOX. No one could justify the $1M per-episode cost for a non blockbuster show (they were using half of the Simpsons creative talent to make the show, btw- hence the high costs). Real shame, too- that was one of the highest per-capita shows for funny: lots of great gags and not nearly as forced as Family Guy or recent Simpsons. SI
