Today Aston Villa and Chelsea play each other. At the same time, we will be playing Tottenham on our pitch. We are in 3rd place in the EPL while Tottenham is in 10th. Tottenham is dangerous because of their very acrobatic keeper, Jesus. Ledley King is a good centreback, but he is unhappy at Tottenham. Actually, most of the team is very unhappy right now. Carlton cole is the leading striker with 20 goals. Second leading scorer, Daniel Omoya Braaten, is injured for this game. Philippe Durnad is a good midfielder as is Pedro Mendes. Pedro is currently transfer listed by request. Matthew Taylor is a good left fullback who can really get under the opposition's skin.

We are 4-5 favorites.

It's overcast with temperatures in the 50's.

Adriano is doubtful, and I'm going to let him rest.

In the other game of note, Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-1! This moves Chelsea back into 4th. This also means that Aston Villa is only 2 points ehad of us, but we have 1 more game remaining to play than they do. If we win all of our remaining games, we will beat Aston Villa. The only team that is still ahead of us by pace is Liverpool which has one game less than us, but is only 2 points behind us with 63.

Today we travel to play Leeds. They are in 17th while we are currently in 2nd place. Birmingham and Aston Villa are playing at the same time. Leeds is a team that has been struggling all year, and we will risk giving our stars the night off. Tgey are led by a strong defense in centrebacks Zander Diamond and Nick Porter. However, their offense is weak and star striker Shane Paul is injured. Gregory Maury is the second leading striker with 12 goals and he will have to thrive tonight for them to win. midfielder Steve Sidwell is also playing well.

We are 1-2 favorites.

It's raining with temperatures in the 50's.

Today we travel to play Parma in the 1st leg of the Champions League Semi Final. Parma has a very talented team even though they are currently 9th in Italian Serie A. Fortunately, most of their team is unhappy. Hopefully, this will aid us. They are led by a dynamic pair of scorers in Obina and Alessandro Portioli who each have 17 goals on the year. Fabio Simplicio has become a top notch defender. Emilson Sanchez Cribari is also a very good defender. Daniel de Ridder is a good right winger. Sebastien Frey is a top notch keeper.

We are 5-4 favorites despite being on the road.

It's sunny with temperatures in the 60's.

In the other semi-final, Roma beat Mallorca 1-0 on their home pitch. It will be interesting to see what happens when Roma plays in enemy turf.

I feel especially good about our win since we will be in front of our home crowd for the second leg.

Chelsea tied Middlesbrough 1-1! That will damage their attempt to catch up to us.

Liverpool beat Aston Villa 1-0.

The top 5 is now as follows:

1. Liverpool - 35 games played 70 points.

2. Aston Villa - 36 games played 70 points.

3. Manchester United - 34 games played 68 points.

4. Chelsea - 35 games played 65 points.

5. Newcastle - 34 games 62 points.

As you can see, we are in the driver's seat. If we win every one of our 4 remaining EPL Games, we will win the title.

Today we host West Ham in what should be an easy match. We are 3rd in the EPL officially while they are 16th. However, I'm not taking any matches for granted. I'm going to start my best players. West Ham is led by the strong play of their midfield which stars Ricardo Gardner at left wing and Dickson Etuhu at midfield. Their keeper Vlada Avramov is playing well this year as well. Centreback Marchena is playing well, but their offense is weak. The leading scorer is Dani with 7 goals. bobby Zamora also has 7 goals.

We are 1-2 favorites.

We won 4 million dollars for winning the semi-final of the Champions League.

Mallorca beat Roma 3-1 on aggregate.

Mallorca is 5th in the Spanish First Division and should be a tough opponent in the Champions League Final.

We will play Mallorca in the final on May 22, 2013.

Ouch! Stewart Downing injured his knee and will miss about a week, including our next two EPL matches most likely!

OOC Note: I'll be looking forward to finishing this season tomorrow hopefully.

EF,

I've been watching your recent games, and in almost every one, it seems to be scoreless until the 60th minute or so. Given the early season trouble with the scoreless ties, incredibly suspenseful! Fortunately you're getting some clutch goals and putting these games away.

Any idea why the scoring explosions don't seem to happen until so late? Does your team have such superior fitness that they're just wearing everybody down?

Anyway, good luck down the stretch in the Premiereship (I'll be honest, I thought you were toast a while ago) and in the final of the Champions League!

Liverpool suffered a serious blow as Steven Gerrard injured his achilles tendon and will miss about 2 months.

Wes Brown twisted his knee and will miss about a week.

I'm not sure why we are breaking out of our scoring slump in the 60 minute area. I do think we have better conditioning than some of our opponents, but that doesn't explain it all. I'm almost afraid that my guys aren't trying their hardest until the game becomes urgent. I feel like that has been a problem all year, particularly with Adriano. Now, that he wants a new contract, he is playing much better.

I also thought I was toast in the EPL for a while there. I'm just hopeful, we can pull out these last 3 games and keep our fate in our hand

Today we travel to play Newcastle in a potential stumbling block for our EPL Title. Liverpool will be playing Everton at the same time. Newcastle is always dangerous due to their excellent keeper, Jesus. Hatem Ben Arfa is playing very well at left wing. Centrebacks Craig Scott and Per Kroldrup are playing very well. Strikers Jermain Defoe and Ricardo Oliveira are both playing very well this year. Miguel and Fabian Ernst are playing well in the midfield.

We are 4-5 favorites.

It's sunny with temperatures in the 60's.

Eric Djemba Djemba broke his arm and will miss the rest of the season.

After the match, Newcastle's Steve Bruce told reporters that he thinks we are going to walk over the competition in the last two games and definitely win the EPL Title.

I hope the guys don't become over confident.

Today we host Birmingham which is currently in 13th while we are in 1st. Liverpool (2nd) and Newcastle (5th) will be playing at the same time. Birmingham has a solid trio of scorers in Dmitry Sychev, Christophe Mandanne, and midfielder Scott Parker. Robin van Persie is still a very good player. Centrebacks Matthew Upson and Mourad Benhamida do a good job. Keeper, Jose Moreira can be very good some games, but bad other games.

I'm taking a risk and giving my top team some rest...

We are 4-7 favorites.

It's sunny with temperatures in the 50's.

13 minute mark: Schmidt dribbles up the left side of the pitch... he crosses to King in the box.. King heads it.. into the upper left corner.. GOAL!!!! 2-0! That is King's 10th goal of the year. I really need to start playing Schmidt more.. he has potential to be great, and is already good.

I miscalculated. If we lose by a high enough number of goals, and Liverpool wins by a high number of goals to equal the 7 goals differential, we could lose the EPL Title. Regardless, we have almost 2 weeks til the Champions League Final, so I plan on playing my best team even though we are playing the Wolves which are a relatively weak team.

I actually made an offer of 50 million plus McFadden when they didn't have a manager (and 50% of next sale.) They refused. I thought that was a generous offer. They seem determined to hold on to him

Today we host the Wolves who are 19th in the EPL. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough is playing Liverpool. The Wolves have had a tough time due to a below average offense coupled with a very bad defense. Alexandr Orekhov has been an average defender, but he has been the best of their defenders. Michele Sardo is a decent keeper that they just acquired, but he is facing too many shots. Stuart Taylor has been demoted from the top keeper spot, after a series of bad games. Their offense is decent and is led by strikers Bruno Moreira and Stefan Moore who have 14 and 10 goals respectively. Seyi George Olofinjana is still their best midfielder.

We are 4-7 favorites.

It's sunny with temperatures in the 40's.

We have officially retained the EPL Title.

After a hard night of celebrating, I wake to find this story in the press:

Engles continues Manchester United Tradition

The fans of Manchester United are overjoyed as Christopher Engles and his players continued the team's proud tradition by winning the English Premier Division. A spokesperson for the official supporters' club stated that Engles was the sort of manager who simply lived and breathed success.

In a statement released to the press, the Manchester United Board have also stated that they are pleased with winning the competition.

We were given 21 million dollars in prize money for winning the EPL!

West Ham and the Wolves were both relegated from the EPL.

Today we play against Mallorca in the Champions League Final. Mallorca finished 4th in the Spanish First Divison. They are a talented team led by a dynamic striker named Guiza. Guiza is 32 years old and is a bit slower than he was in his prime, but he is a goal scoring machine. Javier Ernesto Chevanton is also a very good scorer who has 20 goals on the year, and David Aganzo has 15 goals on the year. Right winger, David Toledo a technically gifted player who can make guys miss him. Centreback Steven Taylor is a very defender. Daniel Jarque is an above average centreback. Their keeper Bruno has been very good this year with 21 clean sheets in 45 starts. He is a 26 year talented Brazilian keeper. Juan Arango is a 33 year old left winger whose skills are fading fast, and he isn't that good any more. However, Mallorca keeps relying on him. I hope Schreurs can light him up.

We are even odd favorites to win this game, while Mallorca has 9-4 odds to win.

It's sunny with temperatures in the 60's.

Game over! 2-0 win for us! We've won the Champions League!!!

We outshot them 12-9 (6-4 on target)

Downing won MoM, 10 for form, 29 of 35 passes, 6 of 10 tackles, 2 of 3 headers, 4 interceptions, 24 runs, 1 foul drawn.

Rooney and Adriano both had 9's for form.

Howard and Chivu both had 8's.

The rest of the team had 7's.

Adriano will get a nice new contract after this performance!

In other news, I hear that England's U19 team beat N. Ireland 3-0 despite my not being there to manage them.

Now to the important Post Match Info:

We were given 8 million dollars for winning the Champions League!

I awoke the following morning to find the following three articles in the newspaper:

Engles one of the top English Manager

Christopher Engles has at last staked his claim that he is one of the most successful English Managers of all time, boasting a managerial record that is comparable to the greatest. The accomplished Manchester United boss has shown himself to be no stranger to success and is likely to add to his growing collection of silverware in the near future. He is being considered for indcution into the Hall of Fame, and if he continues to thrive he will be considered among the greats like Bob Paisley and Sir Alex Ferguson.

The second article:

Engles praised by the Manchester United Supporters

Fans of Manchester United were justly proud after the team returned home with Champions League Title. Fans and pundits alike were unanimous that the person responsible for the team's success was Christopher Eagles. The Manchester United Board have also revealed to the gathering journalists that they were happy with winning the competition.

The third article was a short blurb about us winning the double.

We have been given 24 million dollars from the Champions League Television revenue.

Finally, the team's statistician tells me Downing's 18 MoM awards is a new team record.

Well, I actually have a summer full of quite a few international competitions

Also, I'm on call this weekend. Also, I need to do a quick summary of the leading goal scorers, average form, etc

However, I suspect I'll be starting the next season sometime later this week. I face a big challenge as Lucio and Ferdinand are starting to show their age. My defense is going to get old quickly I suspect. Howard is getting old as well which is even a bigger challenge. I think Marchetti, Cahais, and maybe Salva are about ready to step up, but I'm not convinced yet about Taylor one way or the other. Should be some interesting challenges next year.

Oh yeah, Djemba is getting old too. I have several good "depth" midfielders but no other blossoming stars except for Cook. I need another star midfielder in the near future.
