I would like to applaud our moderator for his fine work on the PM.

Hint - it did not say "vinegar" like Pass has posted.

Before we get too much info, I always lean towards voting for someone who's been around longer, rather than a newbie. Great players are more dangerous as wolves than they are helpful as vineagar, IMO.

One comment about Alan's list, I think EagleFan has played more than just a couple of games. I may be wrong, though.

Eaglesfan27 used to play a bunch back a year or longer ago.. this is a different EagleFan that I don't -think- has played with us before.. I could be wrong on that though.

I'm pretty sure he was one of my teammates in the Survivor game, and I don't think that was his first game.

I disagree with your premise that I bolded, but on day 1 I do prefer to vote for somebody that has played a few games.

He wasn't in the survivor game, but I fully well may be wrong and missed some games he played in or just don't remember it right.. That old age thing setting in causes that at times for me

Yeah, I think it's just bad form to vote out new people. It just doesn't encourage new blood if we vote them out on D1, when we usually have no reason.

Its just as likely me that's gone senile. Wasn't somebody compiling an encyclopedia of werewolf players at one point?

Day 1 approaches:
1.) Get out an early vote based on whatever - see what kind of momentum emerges around candidates
2.) Vote based on random.org
3.) Wait until later in the day to see if you can interpret the momentum around existing candidates
4.) Insert your own logic here

I'll never go with approach #2, as I think random.org is a cop-out. I like to fool myself into believing there is some thread of logic to be discerned in every day and random.org is basically bailing out on trying to find that potentially emerging pattern.

Approach #3 is my usual approach, but I haven't had as much luck with it early in games as I would like so I'm inclined to try #1 today and see if I can force some of the action.

Cronin, I don't think EagleFan has played in any more than one other game - I'm pretty sure I have not played with him previously.

From my experiences (some) veteran players have a tendency to think they've figured everything out, when they haven't. They state their conclusions is definititve terms, and everyone goes along with them. More often then not, they're wrong - and game over.

It probably hasn't happened enough to me to use it as a firm strategy, but I have very little to go on.

Hoops is always helpful as both a villager and as a wolf. He's one of those guys that I'll usually give a little slack to at the beginning in case they are on my team. If Hoops is good, he is an excellent villager to have on our side. His being helpful isn't really something that you can go by on day 1.

Worst case scenerio, he ends up being a wolf and gets found out in a few days. He tends to get scanned earlier by a seer than alot of other people, so no real reason in my mind to usually vote him day 1 unless he just slips up somewhere.

I'll vote for a guy with a few games under his belt who is normally not in the mix for early scans and is a pretty hard guy to pin down on either side.

Anyone want to go out on teh course for a foursome? Preferably with Telle and Oliegirl and one of their friends. I much prefer someone about 5'5 34C, nice ass, and blond.

Or a round of golf would be fine

I volunteer to drive the golf cart, but I don't know that I meet your measurement requirements...34C I'm not, though you'll have to take your chances on whether what I have to offer would be better or worse than that Oh, and I'm not blonde...

I disagree. I think rookies are the ones who think they know it all, or at least have a sneaking suspicion that they have caught not just one wolf, but two or three in some convoluted chain of protections and communications. However, you're right that people tend to listen to veterans more. I guess a good veteran needs to know that people will agree with them, and the rate at which they agree will not necessarily correlate with how likely they are to be correct.

Anyway, pretty weird Day 1 so far.
