I've "soaked" each game until 2030, so there should be no errors, no crashes, and no surprises (unless you count the Columbus Crew winning the Champions League in 2028).

However, YMMV.

I am really on the fence in terms of buying it. Is the boxed version steam-only as well ? I canīt purchase via steam ("not available in your country") and am kind of fearing that registering wonīt work either.

Other than that i just donīt know if i have it in me to stop playing my current save game in FM09 ... I just now am competing for the championsleague trophy with my Hoffenheim team and the best part is that i had one awesome youth class early in the game, now in 2019 4 players from that class are starting for me with another 4 fro later years are in the roster + a couple players i bought for cheap early in their career. Just a very enjoyable run i am having right now with my team playing just my type of soccer in a offensivce minded 3-5-2 .

But the demo does look pretty slick and does seem faster (tested it against the 09 demo as well) ...

and now amazon.uk has it for about 25 euros ...

I so wish save games could be transferred

Just wait a bunch of months. I'm sure it'll still be awesome (FM2010) if you buy it in six months or whatever. Or sooner if you get bored with your current dynasty.

fun news item just now:

Luis Figo (and his group IMO) have successfully completed their takeover of Inter Milan, replacing former chairman Massimo Moratti.

Sure hope he's not a sugar daddy.

any graphic packs, logo packs to DL yet? will older ones work with this?

Where is the best place to follow along for Training schedules, tactics, and logos, etc.

Old picture and logo packs works perfectly, I'm using the same superpack that i did past year. You might need to add a few logos more to the teams that just got promoted to the lower leagues and that were not there past year and some missing pics to new players, but just minor issues.

hmmm, do you know where the old Superpack went. I think I deleted it

Anyways, Icy or Sov -

If you wouldnt mind, and I think it would help others get immersed quicker, and selfishly, it'll help me, could you post some of your 'must have' add-ons?

Or at least point us idiots in a direction

As sov said, there isn't anything released yet, the one i have i think it's a mix of 08 and 09, i just copied over the graphics from 09 to 10 as i don't have the original downloaded files anymore.

Here is a good logo pack, not fully updated for FM10 but unless you are really picky about the few teams that have updated their logos in real life in 2009, it's perfectly usable:

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download TurkStaff FM 2010 Complete Logo Pack.rar

A really nice facepack sould be released around Nov 9th here:
Forums -> Facepacks - Cut Out Style

In a couple of weeks you should see a huge amount of updated stuff to download.

If you're using the Steam version it's:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2010\tools\editor

I just pinned it to the start menu once I found it, so I wouldn't have to go that way each time to get to it.

Talk about taking charge with authority.

I'm playing Man City and I chose Gareth Barry as team captain. Shaun Wright-Phillips, the old captain was really upset about this which I understand but several other first teamers agreed with him. Barry of course was really happy.

First game of the season, against West Ham, Barry goes out and scores 2 goals and won Man of the Match. Funny that now no one except Phillips is upset about Barry being the captain anymore.

rediscovered the missing piece of my tactic that i brought over from the demo - my guys needed to be on "counter" not "attacking" -- since i remembered that i've gone undefeated and my goals-per-game has shot back up. WOOHOOO

First non-beta version of the Susie Real Names & Competitions Fix is out.

Download Fixes.rar

Discussion -- FM10 Susie Real Names & Competition LNC Fix *BETA* - Forums

To use this clear out everything in your DB's lnc folder and place the fixes.lnc file in it. Note that there is also a database in the updates folder (2nd screenshot). That's probably the default database being used after the patch, so I'd make sure to "fix" that one. ***Edit: see next post***

On second thought, I don't think that updated db folder is anything to worry about, since there isn't any other useful files in it. Might want to just delete that updated db folder as its contents are pretty much useless when using a 3rd party fixes.lnc file.

so when you get these "Achievements" noted via Steam - is there a way to see them all somewhere or something?

In the Steam app under the Community tab there's a game stats area. There should be a link called "View stats" under the "Gameplay Stats" for FM 2010. They're listed there.

I'll be waiting for my copy from Amazon until next Friday In the mean time I've been looking over on the SI forum and I've really been shocked by how few major problems that are being reported. Even the yearly " too many red cards" and "too many injury" complaints seem to be at a minimum. Is anyone here seeing any problems or is this years release looking as good as I think it is?

This year's version has been the most tested version ever. All the bugs that may have snuck through in the past were picked up early and acted upon quickly. We busted our ass on this version and it shows.

Yes, it is as good as you think

oh i get it - so it's not something you're supposed to see in your game, it's something to tabulate what % of players out there have done it

Judging from the features being added, this should be much easier than previous versions. E-mails are sent to you by coaches to prompt action on issues. That's a fantastic addition if it works properly.

Less steep but still steep. Personally I think it would be best to just post any questions you have here and we'll clear them up.

By the way, and I say this every year, but I think this is a big step up from last year. Game is just awesome, additions are a lot of fun (especially tactically), and it might be just me but it seems to be running faster. SI FTW.

I find myself spending a ton more time on tweaking tactics for individual matches now, since I know how easy it will be to get back to "base" without having to save 18 different versions of my complicated-slider tactic and remember which to use in which situation.

Had my first crash. Halftime and moving between tactics, team talk, stats, and analysis tabs to make changes before the second half. Used the "back" button on the top of the screen instead of a tab and the game went to my news section. Still showed "tactic" button etc on the sub-tab menu across the top so thought I was ok. Clicked the tactics to get back and game closed down.

A little upset as I was just hired, late October, by Charlton (sitting about 15th in CC League 1 while picked as a promotion possibility) and it was my first match and we were playing very well against Hudderfield, 1-1 at the half with us starting to dominate possession.

I'll report it at SI as the button shouldn't take you out of the match day and not let you return. Just wanted to give a heads up here so others don't have the same thing happen to them.

edit: seems some others have had issues using the back button at halftime and there is already a thread at SI. SI is looking at it but so far they haven't been able to reproduce.

So if I want to manage a team in the Coca Cola Championship League but also manage the US National Team, I'd have to pick both countries at the start?

No, but you would probably want MLS to be an active league in your game so the stats would more accurately reflect how the players are doing.

It is likely that even without MLS selected there would be enough American players to make the US national team manageable, and even if this were not so, you can select an option at the beginning to have your game include all American players even if you run a small database with no MLS.

This is where I'm confused. Do players on the national team that are not in the leagues I simulate not count? I'd like to have all the players but understand many play in various leagues.

Maybe I'd be better off either choosing another national team or doing the things in seperate manager modes.

The national team players will be in the game (with a medium or large db at least) but their matches will be simulated in greater detail in active leagues so you'll have a better idea of how they're performing.

If processing speed is the concern just pick the EPL, Coca-Cola Championship, and choose to load all American players. You'll be fine. You may also consider adding MLS (or any other league) but making it view-only, which means you can't control a team from that league but their matches will still be simulated while not taking up as much processing power as a playable league.

You don't need to run two different careers, I'm just throwing some options out there. Even if you do none of these things and just pick the EPL/CCC you'll be able to manage America. It just might be more fun with MLS running and/or all American players in the db. Without doing the latter you might not have a full U20 team.

No problem.

Dimitar Berbatov just scored what is likely the quickest hat-trick (in terms of time between the three goals, not from kickoff) in my CM/FM history, scoring in the 27th, 29th, and 31st minutes. Rafael van der Vaart assisted on all three. What an inspired signing by me.

Anyone using some exotic formations? For awhile my guys were on a good run with a 4-1-2-3 (DMC-MC-MC-SC-SC-SC for the front six) but the wide forwards weren't doing much after awhile and I've switched back to boring old 4-4-2 (with the wingers up as AM L/R).

Since Ive started with St. Johnstone in the SPL, doing anything creative or unusual really isnt in the cards.

Sorry, one last dumb question. How do I load the American players? I can find how to do everything else but don't see an option with how to load players from a nation.

Go to database size, select custom, there is an option for load all players from a given nation/continent in there.
