Dallas is 18-51. This should be a blow out.

At the end of 1, we are up 25-17. At one point, we were up by 12. Turner with 7 points.

They start off with a 10-0 run while Turner is resting.

At halftime, we lead 44-38. We shut them down once Turner came back into the game. He has 15 points and 8 assists at the half.

Turner putting on a clinic. We lead 75-53 at the end of 3. Turner with 30 points and 9 assists.

With 8 minutes to go and a big lead, Turner hurts his ankle on a non-contact play

We lead 90-61 as I pull my starters.

We win the game 103-80.

Turner is the player of the game with 33 points, 12 assists, 9 boards, and 1 block. He convinced me to keep him in for the triple double. Now, how bad is he hurt? How long is he out?

Jefferson with 16 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks. The big man is finally coming into his own.

Holiday with 14 points, 13 assists, 3 boards, 2 steals, and 2 turnovers. He shot 4 of 8.

Kelley with 13 points and 7 boards. Speights with 8 points, 9 boards, and a block.

Fuller with 5 points in 8 minutes. Villanueva with 4 points and 6 boards. Williams with 5 assists and 0 points. Madsen with 2 points and 3 boards in 20 minutes.

We jumped to an early lead against the Raptors, but we are tied at 25 at the end of 1. Bargnani with a big first quarter.

At halftime, we are down 46-45.

Bargnani with 18 points at the half. Turner with 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 boards at the half.

Turner with a big 3rd quarter but we are down 76-73. Could Toronto steal one on our court?

Turner with a rough first 6 minutes of the quarter to dig us a 12 point deficit. But, in the final 2 minutes, Turner is incredible. He makes everything.

Down 98-96 with 6 seconds to go. Turner drives.. they collapse.. he kicks it out to Holiday for an open 3.. he shoots.. and misses. We lose game 1.

Bargnani is the player of the game (although Turner still should have gotten it.): 29 points, 12 boards, and a block.

Turner with 40 points, 10 assists, 8 boards, 5 steals, 1 block, and 4 turnovers. He shot 13 of 28, 2 of 10, and 12 of 13.

Jefferson with 12 points and 12 boards. Villanueva with 14 points.

Speights with 10 points and 8 boards. Holiday with 9 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 3 of 9.

Young with 5 points, 8 boards, and 4 assists. Kelley with 2 points and a board. Williams with 4 points and 2 assists.

Bargnani with 32 points. Wesley Johnson with 25 points.

Speights led us with 26 points. Turner with a rough night - 19 points, 9 boards, and 8 assists but he shot 6 of 17.

Holiday with 19 points. Villanueva with 18, Jefferson with 13.

Young with 10 points. Kelley with 6.

Can we come back from the deficit?

In this must win game 3 in Toronto, we are tied at 20 after 1. Turner is having a bad shooting night so far, but he is doing everything else. Jefferson had our first 6 points of the 1st quarter including a monster putback dunk to get us started. Will he have a big night?

We go to Jefferson time and time again to start the 2nd and he has a huge quarter.

At halftime, we are up 53-39. Jefferson with 20 points and 5 boards at the half!

At the end of 3, we are up 76-66. Jefferson continues to play great. He was compared to Dirk when he came into the league by my scouts, and I saw glimpses, but today he is hitting almost all of his midrange shots and he is showing explosive dunking.

With 2:30 left, they undercut Young and he is hurt.. it looks bad

We lead 95-80.

We win the game 101-85.

Turner is the player of the game despite his poor shooting. He finished with 21 points, 14 assists, 11 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 3 turnovers for his first career playoff triple double! He shot 5 of 17, 0 of 4, and 11 of 11.

Jefferson with 29 points, 10 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 13 of 20.

Holiday with 16 points, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 7 turnovers. He shot 6 of 11.

Villanueva with 11 points and 7 boards. Speights with 10 points and 7 boards.

Murphy with 7 points in 9 minutes. Young with 7 points, 5 boards, and 2 steals.

Kelley with a zero stat line in 20 minutes.

Williams with 5 assists and 1 steal in 22 minutes.

Young broke his ankle. He is done for the playoffs

Neither Speights nor Turner scores in the first 5 minutes but our defense is solid. We are tied at 5.

3 minutes left in the quarter and neither of my biggest stars have scored. Yet, we lead 15-14. Jefferson, Villanueva, and Fuller scoring for us.

2:21 to go, Turner on the fastbreak with his first basket of the night. We lead 19-14.

At the end of 1, we are up 26-18. Jefferson is our leading scorer.

I rest Turner for 4 minutes to start the 2nd and Kelley keeps us scoring. We lead 34-22.

At halftime, we are up 47-36. Jefferson with 12 points and 9 boards to lead the way. Wesley Johnson leads them with 9 points and 2 boards.

Everyone chipping in the 3rd. Turner only had 4 in the 1st half but 8 in the 3rd quarter. Kelley is having a very good game as is Holiday. At the end of 3, we lead 76-62 despite resting Turner for 4 minutes.

With 4 minutes to go, we lead 91-75. Total team effort.

After a quiet 3 quarters, Speights lights it up in the 4th. We lead 99-75 with 2:40 to go as I pull my starters.

Oklahoma beats Sacramento 112-96 to survive the scare and advance to play the Suns.

Memphis and Golden State will match up in the other playoff series out west.

In the East, Charlotte beat the Bulls 119-99 in Game 7 to advance. They will face the #1 seed Pacers who swept their first round foe, NJ.

We will face a Cleveland team that beat Detroit in 6.

A look at the Cavs:

PG Jonny Flynn is 6'0 185, 25, and rated 85 overall which is their highest rating. He has a great shot and is very fast.

PF J.J. Hickson is 25, 6'9 242 and is rated 79 overall. Tough rebounder and a decent interior scorer.

PG Rodrigue Beaubois has become a cancer and is playing poorly, but he is talented. He is 6'0 170 and is rated 77 overall.

3rd year SG Mack Alexander is 6'4 223 and is rated 74 overall. He has a nice jumpshot and is averaging 9 per game.

SG Elliott Williams is 6'5 180 and is rated 72 overall. A nice bench player.

SF Reggie Williams is 6'6 210 and is 27. He is their starting SF with a rating of 71. He is a good shooter and is averaging 13 ppg.

C Anderson Varejao is 6'11 260 and is rated 66 overall. A good rebounder and defender. He is averaging just 2.7 ppg as they often go small.

He is their only true big man who plays any minutes.

I like our interior advantage and plan on pounding them this series.

We had a very rough first 5 minutes, but we are only down by 7 at the end of 1, 30-23. Turner had 6 straight points to get us going after we fell to a 15-4 deficit to start the quarter.

Jefferson showing he is the championship compliment? He has 8 straight points to start the 2nd as we lead 31-30 including a big dunk on the fast break and 3 nice mid range jumpers.

An excellent 2nd quarter in which our defense smothered them.

At halftime, we are tied at 41.

A poor 3rd quarter has us in a bit of a hole - down 70-63. Turner with a rough quarter.

Jefferson with a 3 to make it a 87-81 game with 3:30 to go...

Turner misses 3 shots down the stretch while Granger makes them.

We lose 96-86.

George also had 28 points for them.

Turner led us with 23 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists. He had 3 steals and 4 turnovers. He shot 6 of 16, 0 of 3, and 11 of 13.

Williams with 9 points and 3 assists. Villanueva with 8 points and 4 boards. Holiday with 7 points and 8 assists. He shot 2 of 11.

Rudy Gay was the Finals MVP. He averaged 26 ppg and 12.3 rpg in the playoffs.

The following players retired:

Troy Murphy, 76ers; Tim Duncan, Bucks; Kevin Garnett, Celtics; Ray Allen, Celtics; Hedo Turkoglu, Knicks; Chauncey Billups, Nuggets; Shane Battier, Rockets;

Coach Nate McMillian retired after he failed to revive the Clippers.

Garnett and Duncan are both inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The #1 task off the offseason is re-signing Turner. He wants to be a 76er. He wants a max 6 year deal. We make the offer and get it done.

We also extend the option of Bernie Jefferson and Hal Myers. We let big man Ron Jamison go.

Dallas gets the 1st pick in the Draft! Miami has the 7th pick with their bad season without LeBron...

There are several players that my scouts are convinced are absolute superstars at the top of this draft....

1. Dallas takes the player my scouts were in love with. 6'8 209 pound 20 year SF Lenny Mayo of Wake Forest is a true shooter with athleticism.

2. The Bucks offer me Bogut and this pick for Turner. I turn them down. Anyone else, I would have probably pulled the trigger. I almost pull the trade for the #2 pick but it involved Speights and Jefferson. I turn them down and they take SF Wilson Rooks, a 6'8 235 pound 21 who I thought was 3rd best player on the board...

With the 3rd pick, the Celtics take the player who I almost traded for, 6'5 230 pound SG Alton Keller who I think is a superstar. I wonder if I will regret not trading for him?

4. The Wolves get PG Stephen Stafford a very good 6'5 PG from Uconn.

5. The Magic get 6'7 235 pound SF

6. The Spurs make me an offer that I just can't pass up. They want Lloyd Madsen, who does have a nice roof but is at least 3-4 years away from being a contributor and my #1 pick next year for the 6th overall pick this year!

With the 6th pick, I take Rich Tiggs, a 6'3 212 pound SG/PG who is from Australia and is 20 years old. He has A+ ratings in athleticism, outside shooting, and man defense. He has a B+ for playmaking and potential. He was projected to go in the top 5.

7th - The Heat try to trade the pick for Bernie Jefferson and Ramon Ramos. I turn them down. There are some intriguing big men, but none better than Jefferson I suspect.

The Heat select Clyde Carpenter, the player I almost selected. He is a 6'7 210 pound SG with a nice shooting touch but not as much athleticism as Tiggs.

The Hawks pull a big move trading the 9th pick and Joe Johnson to get Jonas Jerebko and Quincy Pondexter from the Hornets.

With that pick, the Hornets have 3 picks in the top 10. Interesting.

With the 11th pick in the draft, the Lakers got the best big man of this class.

The Clippers traded the 14th pick and Deandre Jordan to the Cavs for Rodrigue Beaubois.

The Cavs then used the 14th pick to get the 2nd best big man in the class.

The Kings try to trade the 15th pick for Jefferson straight up. I pass.

The Nets offer the 17th pick and SG Ian Clayton who they took in the 1st last year for Rich Tiggs. I turn them down.

The Bulls offer me the 25th pick and PG C.J. Watson for Tiggs. I turn them down.

With the 27th pick, we take a defensive C since we traded away our other one for the 6th pick. I take Donnie Page, a 7'1 275 defender from UNC-Charlotte who is a top notch rebounder and interior defender but doesn't do much else.

I forgot - I have the Wizards 1st round pick next year - everyone is trying to get it from me

Post Draft Expert's Analysis:

They believe we got the 2nd best player as far as current rating.

They all agree that Lenny Mayo is an absolute stud and that Dallas should build something special around him.

Wilson Rooks of the Bucks also looks special.

In the 2nd round, we got an athletic SF in Herman Fordham from USC. He is 6'6 220 and is a good athlete who can shoot a bit.

Our C is a project but should be able to play a bit for us this year.

Now, to FA. Can we get a good MLE?

John Wall is the superstar of this class, where will he go? Please leave Washington as their 1st round pick will be much more valuable!

Will Kobe leave LA? Will Gasol also leave? Very intriguing FA!

I decide to offer Dirk out MLE to attempt to get him to come here and win a ring with us...

The Jazz sign Daniel Orton to a 5 year 80 million dollar deal.

Wall, finally decides..... to leave Washington! He is going to Detroit for a 5 year 86 million deal.

A brief look at our roster now:

Holiday is our #1 PG period, Turner #1 SG, Young #1 SF, Jefferson #1 PF, and Speights #1 C.

Tiggs is already our next best player and makes Mo Williams expendable. Tiggs is the real deal. He is electric with the ball and can shoot. He is our most athletic guard.

Mo Williams is now trade bait.

Kelley is our #1 bench option at the 3, 4, and 5.

Villanueva is a very good option at 4 or 5.

Fuller is a flat out scorer who can come in for a bit of instant offense.

Donnie Page is a servicable defender who can rebound and provide size.

Ramos, Myers, and Fordham are all projects.

With the overload of talent, I would consider packaging a few guards to get a true superstar PG or SF. Can I do it?

Wow. It might be a slight step back, but I find an offer too exciting not to do! I trade Holiday who I love, but he isn't an elite PG and Thaddeus Young who is a very good SF but not elite to Dallas for PG Guy Ball who can be a solid backup PG and SF Lenny Mayo, the #1 pick!

So, a look at our new roster:

PG/SG Rich Tiggs will start at PG. 6'3 212 with quickness that we haven't had at the position ever. Good shooter. Not as good a defender as Holiday.

Turner - The #1 rated SG in the league now.

Lenny Mayo - A 6'8 210 pound SF with unlimited potential.

PF Jefferson - A strong rebounder who is becoming a good shooter.

C - Speights - A streaky but good shooter.

Mo Williams becomes the #1 bench option again at PG.

Villanueva will be our #1 option for offense at 4 or 5 off the bench.

Kelley will be #1 option for offense at #3 off the bench and #2 at 4.

Fuller will be primary backup SG.

Ball backup PG if needed.

Page for size/defense. Anyone else as needed.

Our first pre-season game is against the Hawks.

We win 101-93. Tiggs with 16 points and 8 assists in his debut. Turner and Speights with 20 each. Mayo with 12 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Jefferson with 10 points, 12 boards, and 2 blocks.

The new look Detroit team with Wall and Bynum pounds us the next game. Tiggs led us with 25 points and 0 assists! :O Turner with 22 points and 9 assists. Mayo with 11 points, 7 boards, and 2 assists.

In our next game against the Wizards, Turner with 28, Mayo with 25, and Tiggs with 23. Jefferson adds 15 and Speights 13. Nice!!

Wow. Tiggs might be shoot first, shoot second, shoot 3rd, and ask questions later. He goes 6 of 20 in his next game. We still win behind 25 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists from Turner.

The Preseason ends with us going 4-3 and Tiggs showing that he can score but might not like to pass the ball. We'll work on that. Mayo is showing he can do it all and averages 18 ppg in the pre-season. We have an exciting nucleus here...

We are #2 in the Pre-season power ranking with the Bulls at #1 behind Rose who is now rated the best player in the game.

Might be interesting to run Evans at PG. My backup PG was out for a month and Evans was playing about 8 mins a game at the position for me. His handle is good enough I think, without knowing the exact rating.

Question, how much time do you spend evaluating prospects prior to the draft? Do you use up all the pre-draft workout days, and actually play them out?

Prior to the latest patch I never ran workouts myself because it was fairly easy to draft a good player if you were picking in the top-10 IMO because the talent level was so high. But I've found that now you need to be more careful - the draft I just completed I had the #1 pick and grabbed a 72 rated PF/C, who is the highest rated guy in his class. No one else is above 69. Using him in the workouts gave me a pretty good feel of how he plays, while the two guards I was high on I really struggled playing one-on-one against a 68OVR rated FA SG (Terrico White), which turned out to be pretty fair considering they were a 68 and 69 rating.

I've found the workouts give me a false sense of their abilities at times. I use them, but sparingly. I've hired 3 full time good scouts now and put them to work and then rely on their reports. I'm having bit of guilt about getting the #1 pick. Holiday and Young are very good players and Holiday is up to an 85 and may go higher, but this #1 pick has A+ ratings in every area including potential and is already a 79 and should be a 99 before his career is done. Him and Turner should win some serious titles, especially if Tiggs can develop and Speights and Jefferson don't decline too young.

With as much as Tiggs likes to shoot, I may run Turner at the PG and let Tiggs play the #2. I just think Tiggs is a bit undersized the guard some SG's.

We start off our season against the #1 tem in the league, The Heat. We are the #2 rated roster. The Heat added a SF in the offseason and are starting LeBron at PF and Bosh at C. Their starting lineup is: Chalmers (77), Wade (95; 1 point below Turner), Al-Farouq Aminu (rated 83), LeBron (97), and Bosh (83.)

Mayo's first basket was spectacular, a fake out on Aminu and he took it the rim so fast. He has amazing athleticism. His first assist was incredible too.. he drove inside, drew the defense and kicked it out to Tiggs who hit a VERY deep 3.

6 minutes left in the quarter as I bring in Kelley and Villanueva. We lead 12-8.

We are tied at 19 with 1:13 to go as I rest Tiggs and Turner. Mayo coming in at SG...

At the end of 1, we are tied at 21.

9 minutes left, Mayo with a steal and takes it coast to coast for a powerful acrobatic dunk. He is magic on the fastbreak! We are tied at 25.

6 minutes: A well rested Turner returns. We are tied at 29.

At halftime, we are up 44-40. Turner is turning it up defensively as we aren't asking him to do as much offensively. I'm very impressed with Tiggs and Mayo although Tiggs is going to turn it over some..

Turner leads our team at the half with 10 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

We had an 8 point lead, but I rested most of my starters in the last 4 minutes of the 3rd. Mayo did a bunch of scoring, but they close the gap to 4. At the end of 3, we are up 70-66.

We hiold the Heat scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the 4th with suffocating defense. With a 84-66 lead, we empty our bench.

We win the game 93-82. A great start to what I think is the beginning of a special season.

Mayo is the player of the game! Nice debut for the #1 pick! 21 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He had 2 turnovers. He shot 6 of 12, 0 of 1, and 9 of 9.

Turner with 18 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, and 2 turnovers. He shot 7 of 12, 0 of 0, and 4 of 5.

Tiggs with 16 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 5 turnovers. He shot 4 of 8, 4 of 4, and 4 of 6.

Jefferson with 13 points, 10 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 6 of 8.

Speights with 10 points nd 1 board. He shot 5 of 14.

Villanueva with 5 points and 7 boards. Kelley with 4 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Williams with 4 points, 2 assists, and 5 turnovers.

Page played 8 minutes but didn't have any stats.

Jefferson held LeBron to 8 of 19. Turner held Wade to 4 of 15. Aminu was their leading scorer with 18 as he worked Mayo a bit.

Within 5 minutes, we jump to a 16-8 lead. Turner and Mayo are both on fire.

However, we slow down the rest of the quarter. At the end of 1, we are up 25-24.

Iggy posterizes Mayo with 7:59 to go in the half. I call time to settle the crowd. We are up 36-31.

At halftime, we are up 57-49. Turner with a great half. 19 points, 6 assists, and 4 boards.

At the end of 3, we are up 79-71. Turner with a quieter quarter as they doubled him quite a bit.

Turner with a huge 1st quarter as he scored almost all of our points. We are tied at 20.

At halftime, we are up 55-40. Turner and Mayo had a huge quarter playing off each other. Turner also set up Page for a few easy baskets, and our backup center already has a career high in points this game.

At the end of 3, we are up 78-73.

We had a 12 point lead in the 4th, but we got sloppy down the stretch and they tie it at 101 with 5 seconds left. Mayo takes our last shot and just misses a bit short. We are going to OT and Jefferson just fouled out at the end of regulation.

Turner finishes the game in grand style with a huge OT.

We win 116-103.

I love it. Tiggs has great hops and usually gets at least one breakaway dunk per game. We are much more athletic than we have been in the past.

DeRozan is going to miss about a month with a strained oblique.

Kobe is demanding an extension from the Lakers. Will they give it to him the age of 36 and in obvious decline? His PPG have dropped every year for the last 4 and are now down to 21.1 PPG...

In the biggest announcement of the season, LeBron says he is testing FA after the season. At 29, he is still one of the biggest stars in the game.

Speaking of which, a look at the top 5 in PER:

1. Jennings, MIL 31.4
2. Carmelo, Den 30.0
3. Derrick Rose, Chi 29.2
4. LeBron, MIA 28.9
5. Tyreke Evans, Sac 28.8

Turner is our top player at #14 on the list with a 25.0

Mayo is 50th with a 19.0 rating, very respectable for the rookie.
