The defenses dominate early and no one scores for the first 3 minutes of the 1st...

It is 12-12 with 3 minutes left in the quarter.

Kelley with 8 points off the bench to help give us a lead.

At the end of 1, we lead 21-16.

Tiggs is really struggling with his injury.. Beverly will play with the starters to start the 2nd..

Beverly with a very good 2nd quarter. He is more of a pure point than Tiggs.

Mayo with a big 2nd quarter as Beverly got him the ball in his favorite spots.

Mayo with 16 points at the half.

At the half, we lead 45-33.

We had a 14 point lead, but Beverly rested the last 4 minutes and Tiggs fell apart with bad play.

At the end of 3, we are up 65-61.

Back and forth 4th quarter, but a pair of 3's by Mayo gives us a 81-75 lead with 3 minutes left...

They never close that gap!

We win 89-81.

Mayo is the player of the game with 26 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. He shot 10 of 20.

Turner with 24 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 10 of 20.

Beverly played a great game - 11 points, 5 boards, 13 assists, 2 steals, and only 1 turnover. A much better ratio than Tiggs has ever had. He shot 4 of 9.

Scott with 9 points, 13 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 2 of 10.

Kelley with 8 points and 4 boards.

Jefferson with 6 points, 8 boards, and a block.

Tiggs with 0 points, 3 assists, and 2 turnovers in 12 minutes.

Bayless led them with 18 points and 12 assists as Beverly wasn't as good defensively.

Will we get Orlando or Atlanta in our first Eastern Conference Finals in the Turner era?

They have a true big 3 stars:

PG Ty Lawson is only 5'11 195 but he is a dynamic ball handler and shooter. He is 28 and is rated 90 overall. He's averaged 16 ppg and 9.1 apg this season.

SG James Harden is 6'5 220 and is 26. He's another great ball handler who can shoot. He's rated 91 overall. He's averaging 18.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 1.9 apg.

C Dwight Howard is 6'11 265 and is 30 years old. He's rated 91 overall. He's averaging 18 ppg, 12.1 rpg, and 2.3 bpg.

PF Trevor Booker is unhappy that he isn't getting more minutes. He is undersized at 6'7 240. He is 28 years old and is rated 75 overall. He's averaging 8.8 ppg and 6 rpg.

SG Tony Parker is 6'2 180 and is now 33. He's rated 75 overall and is clearly on the downside, but he is their top bench performer. He's averaging 12.1 ppg and 4.5 apg, both career lows for him. He came over from New Orleans midseason.

SG Wayne Ellington is 6'4 200 and is 28. He's also rated 75 overall and is a very good perimeter scorer. He's averaging 12.5 ppg and 3 rpg.

SF Perry Cousins is 6'8 230 and is 24 years old. He's provides size at their SF position. He's rated 70 overall. He's averaging 6 ppg and 3.2 rpg.

SF Jerome Bowden is upset with his lack of PT. He is 6'7 243 and is 24 years old. He's rated 70 overall. He's averaging 2.7 ppg and 1.2 rpg in only 7 minutes per game.

PF Ryan Anderson is their only real size off the bench. He's 6'10 240 and is rated 64 overall. He's 28 years old and is averaging 3.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg in 5 mpg.

They also have Emeka Okafor off the bench, but he is demanding a trade and hasn't been playing well this year. He's only played 3 mpg and is averaging 0.5 ppg and 1.2 rpg. He's rated 66 overall and is 6'10 255 and 33 years old.

If we can get their big 3 into foul trouble, particularly Howard, we should be able to beat them.

The first game is in the West....

Utah wins 115-103. Al Jefferson leads them with 34 points and 14 boards. Beasley with 21 points and 9 boards.

I will play Beverly a lot until Tiggs is 100%.

Ellington and Howard hurt us in the 1st. Turner and Mayo kept us in the game.

We are down 26-23 at the end of 1. Turner with 10 points already.

They opened a 14 point gap, then Kelley came in and hit a few 3's for us to close it to 6.

But, at the end of the half they made the gap bigger.

At halftime, we are down 54-44.

Howard with 16 points and 6 boards. Turner with 12 points.

We close within 4 than Ellington hits one from another zip code.. way outside.

We keep closing the gap and they keep making big shots... Harden, Lawson.. Ellington.

At the end of 3, we are down 71-66.

We tied it at 81, but Harden hit a pair of 3's to give them a nice lead again.

We never get the gap closer again as Harden hit a bunch of shots down the stretch.

Scott was our most consistent scorer in the 4th, but it was not enough.

We lose 100-92.

Harden is the player of the game with 27 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

Howard added 20 points, 11 boards, and 2 blocks.

Ellington with 16 points. Lawson with 10 points and 10 assists.

We pick up on the options on Tiggs and Mayo.

The Draft Lottery nets Minnesota the #1 pick, Boston the #2 pick, and Dallas who had the best shot at #1, ends up at 3 instead.

We don't have a #1 pick as we traded it away, but we might trade back into the 1st round if a very athletic SG/SF lasts to 15 or so...

The Nuggets offer us the #4 pick for Scott. We pass.

The Clippers trade the #9 pick and Chris Kaman to get the player who Dallas took #3 Randolph McCleod and Art Lynch.

The Mavs then reach to take the 2nd best big man in the draft, Keon Strawberry.

The Pacers offer us the #11 pick and SG Brandon Rush for Kelley...

Rush is a scrub..

Kelley is poised to become our #1 option off the bench at both PF and SF..

I want one particular player, but Kelley isn't who I was going to trade to get the pick.. I pass.

I can't work a trade I like and the Bucks take my guy at #18... Gabe Maxwell is an athletic but raw 6'6 200 pound SG/SF.

I trade our 2nd round pick and Ramos for the Grizzlies 29th pick and SF Demarre Carroll who is a throw in piece..

I draft Bob Lucas, a 6'5 SG from Purdue who is very athletic and has a nice outside shot.

A review of the top 10:

1. The Wolves got the clear star of this draft - Corie Wilks is a 20 year old from TCU who is extremely talented in every phase of the game and has nice size at 6'8 235.

2. The Celtics pick up an undersized PF in Danny Walls who is 6'8 250. But, he can score very well from the inside.

3. The Mavs got and then traded PF Randolph McCleod who is 6'9 260 and very talented defensively and offensively.

4. The Nuggets reached for SG Gheorghe Bacu a 6'6 20 year old from Romania who has a silky smooth shot with excellent athleticism but is raw in the other phases of the game.

5. The Bobcats got an athletic shooter in Leonard York from UNC. He is a 6'8 200 pound wing player.

6. The Spurs got the best PG in the draft in Mikael Eklund who is a pure distributor.

7. The Heat got the best C in the draft in Theo Keller who is 6'11 250 and a defensive force.

8. The Wizards got Willis Jeter, a 6'10 260 pound SF/PF who can shoot the ball.

9. The Mavs reached for Keon Strawberry who has great size (7'0 260), but lacks other skills.

10. The Trailblazers got a decent PF in Shelden Fox.

The Nuggets got the steal of the draft at #32 with Wallace Black, a 7'0 260 pound C whom I almost took. I hope I don't regret passing him up..

A look at our roster now (not many changes but players are improving):

PG Rich Tiggs is now 23. He is 6'3 212. He's rated 81 overall. His strength is his athleticism.

SG Evan Turner is rated 97 overall. His strength is his outside shot. He is 27 and is 6'7 205.

SF Lenny Mayo is now 6'8 215 and is rated 90. He is 24 and is becoming a premiere scorer who can score from anywhere on the court. His inside game is improving...

PF Bernie Jefferson is the old man among the starters at 28 years old. He is 6'10 255 and is rated 84 overall with his strength being defense and rebounding.

C Robin Scott put on some muscle and is now 7'0 255. He is rated 83 overall with his strength being his defense and rebounding.

SF/PF J.P Kelley is 6'11 220 and is rated 76 overall. His strength is his outside shot.

PG Guy Ball is 6'6 200 and is 72 overall. He is 27 years old. His strength is his shot and handling.

PF Charlie Villanueva is starting to show his age at 32. He's rated 72 overall with his strength being his shooting.

C Hasheem Thabeet is 7'3 265 and is rated 69 overall. His strength is his defense.

SG Karl Fuller is 28 and rated 66 overall. His strength is his shooting.

SF DeMarre Carroll is 6'8 212 and is 30 years old. He is rated 62. No strengths.

C Donnie Page is 7'1 274 and is rated 62 overall. A solid rebounder.

SG Bob Lucas is a project.. He isn't as good as I thought or hoped. Our scouts were wrong. He is 6'5 218 but isn't as athletic as first thought. Rated 57 overall, he probably won't play much this year, but I like his potential.

Still, we have a great core and I expect us to push for 60 wins..

The Grizzlies traded Thaddeus Young and Dexter Gooding to Sacramento for Jason Thompson and Donte Greene. I'm tempted to see if I can rescue Thaddeus from Sacramento...

The Pacers traded Ramon Sessions and their 1st round pick to the Mavs for Michael Conley.

Thaddeus is too well payed, the salaries won't work without giving up someone I don't want to give up.

In other news, LeBron had a career high 10 steals in a win over the Bucks.

Time for the Knicks.

8 minutes to go in the 1st: Our offense is clicking in every way possible. Turner with 6 points. We are up 12-4 as they call time.

We have a cold stretch in the middle of the quarter where they close the gap to 4, but then Mayo finally hits a shot.. and another.. and another.. and another...

At the end of 1, we lead 27-15. Strong start on the road against a high quality opponent.

We had a strong start to the 2nd quarter, but Mayo and Turner had to rest the last few minutes of the half and they closed the gap.

Halftime: We lead 57-45. Turner with 20 points at the half.

End of 3: Everyone chipped in. We lead 78-68 at the end of 3. Turner with 30 points.

Our starters put it away early in the 4th. We never let them get closer than 20 with 8 minutes to go.

We win 104-84.

Turner is the player of the game with 32 points, 7 boards, and 3 assist. He shot 12 of 26.

Mayo with 22 points, 14 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 7 of 13.

Scott with 17 points, 8 boards, and a block. He shot 7 of 13.

Jefferson with 8 points and 11 boards.

Tiggs with 8 points, 4 boards, and 11 assists. He also had 6 turnovers. He shot 3 of 5.

Kelley led the bench with 7 points and 3 boards.

Simon Reid led them with 28 points in 11 of 22 shooting.

Wall with 10 points and 8 assists as Turner helped guard him. He shot 2 of 14.

Nice to see I'm not the only one still playing NBA2K11. Currently playing every game of 2022 (or something like that) with the Bulls. I put legends on each team when the Association started, so I have Jordan at 34 or so, but still tough to stop and an up and coming superstar who can shoot from anywhere. Also picked up some good bigs, a solid PG, and a bench of good, young players. Currently 70-8 and challenging the record for the best record ever. May not make it...the last few games have been tough.

Just haven't gotten a good enough vibe from NBA2K12 to switch over to it. I will probably trade it in and get 2K13 when it comes out.

Yeah, I didn't get a good enough vibe from 2k12 either, plus I'm so attached to this association. But, my work schedule has become more game friendly lately, so I'm hoping to get through a few more seasons of this franchise before 2k13 comes out.
