Definitely. Missed II, gotta come back for III. I would tone down the injuries a bit, and maybe run a "Season" of ssay, four-five smaller events, (how about six, you can enter four, and the top three results qualify you for the "World Championship"?

Wow...nice response...

Ok I have to admit that I was thinking about taking the easy way out this time by allowing each contestant to pick on a first come first serve basis the athlete that they'd like to represent them in the contest...

So if PilotMan wanted to be Bruce Jenner and he was first to sign in, then his character would use Bruce Jenner's stats. If we do it this way, we can get started pretty quickly. If you'd rather assign skill stats as we've done in the past then I can do that, but it will require some time on my part to get set up. As I want to change the matrix of how skills impact different events, and the new cards will need to be analyzed to divide the different performers into their different levels of productivity.

Either way is fine with me...just let me know how you'd like to proceed...

I'd prefer the old way for a couple reasons- I really don't know a whole lot of decathletes and I liked the idea that you were in control of your athlete's strengths and weaknesses. I'd hate to put you through extra paces if it's just me but that's kind of where I stand on it.

Yeah, I'd like being in control of my own destiny. More amusing that way.

I think we're a board of micromanagers so controlling our own stats and having them all be equal is best.

That said, if there are too many people, there could be like "preliminary decathlons" leading up to the main one.

All,

I want to appologize. I went into this with best intentions, but I haven't made much progress. Given the responses that requested picking abilities and having a running season, I was intrigued, and I was working on a way to implement training and changes of attributes based on the way the individual trained, then rebuilding the cards based on the new stats before each meet.

However, I have been for a while now keeping an eye out for a new job opportunity...and before I could get to involved in this effort, several have come up. I've been spending my time in pursuit of a new job. Hopefully, I'll get a firm offer soon and be able to look into this again...

Wanted to let you guys know, because I appreciate your participation and don't want to keep you in the dark.

Glad to hear the good news of possible new employment (for the right reasons). Best of luck with everything.
