Big 12/American Wrap-Up

Obviously the shocker of the group is winless Houston beating undefeated Kansas. Nice matchup between Wichita St. and Indiana St. who in reality both play in the MVC, but in this dynasty, they play in different conferences. Was also surprised to see how easily Louisville handled Oklahoma St. Same with Memphis handling Kansas St.

Final Tally: American wins 9-7

Pac 12/SEC Wrap-Up

Hawaii knocking off Florida was a huge, huge upset. 2 more undefeated teams went down, and I'm not sure if there are any undefeated teams left. A couple great overtime games, and some even basketball in this challenge, as 10 of the 16 games were decided by 5 points or less, which makes the final tally quite understandable....

Final Tally: An 8-8 tie, which is very justified as even as the games were.

Another one bites the dust! Villanova becomes our 4th undefeated team this week to lose, and they did it to a former conference rival, by 1 point. Ugh! Duke and North Carolina with good, solid wins to get back to .500.

Big Ten/A-10 Wrap-Up

This might be the most lopsided non-conference series we've had so far. Toledo, Purdue, and Nebraska were the only losers for the Big Ten this week. Although it's still early in the season, it's not looking good for postseason prospects in the A-10, which currently has just 2 teams with a winning record. Ouch!

Final Tally: Big Ten wins 13-3

No real surprises in this challenge, quite a few double digit wins, but nothing that really screams upset. It was a hotly contested challenge, as evidenced by the final tally:

How about what Villanova did to Southern Miss? Just wiped the floor with them. Wyoming with a mild upset over Texas A&M, and Harvard almost got a good win against Florida. Another close conference challenge.

American/A-Ten Wrap-Up

The big disappointment for the A-Ten was Fordham getting beat by 38, as they are 1 of 3 A-Ten teams with a winning record. Fortunately, GW and Richmond both won. Amazing to see the struggles of teams like VCU, Stephen F. Austin, and Belmont. Needless to say, the A-Ten is definitely the weak conference in this dynasty.. but they were the 8th rated conference in reality (at least from the site I went to) which is the reason their conference as a whole is in this dynasty, but I'm almost wondering if the Mountain West wouldn't have fared better. OH well, too late now.

Big 12/ACC Wrap-Up

Not a good challenge at all for the ACC, while the Big 12 shocked in many ways. 3 huge unexpected (by my count) wins for the Big 12: New Mexico over N. Carolina, W. Virginia over Duke, and the big upset, TCU over Virginia. Unfortunately, 2 of my 3 Kansas teams lost (ugh!), but overall a terrific challenge for the Big 12.

Final Tally: Big 12 wins 11- 5

ACC/A-Ten Wrap-Up

Another dismal performance for the A-Ten, including Richmond, who gave VA Tech their first win of the season. Belmont and George Mason remain winless, and VCU continues to disappoint. Could be a long year for the A-Ten unless they get it figured out.

Big East/American Wrap-Up

The new Big East vs. the old Big East (with a few extra teams of course!) didn't turn out to be much of a challenge. The new Big East dominated this one, with 2 late wins for the American easing the pain a little bit. Lots of good matchups in this one, including a nice old time rivalry matchup between UConn and Villanova.

Big Ten/SEC Wrap-Up

A great series, highlighted by some surprise scores. I didn't expect LA Tech to beat Ohio St., nor did I expect Ole Miss to beat Wisconsin or Miss. St. to beat Michigan St. As in real life, the SEC is making its case to be the strongest conference in this dynasty. Despite all that, they needed to win the last 2 games to win this challenge.

Big 12/Pac 12 Wrap-Up

Another tight series, this one way too close. A couple blowouts though, as Gonzaga hammered New Mexico St., Stanford hammered TCU, and the most shocking one is Washington St. beating W. Virginia by 33. My Shockers keep getting a tough draw, this time losing to Arizona. At least K-State won. This series came down to the final game.

SEC/ACC Wrap-Up

3 OT games in this series, and I'm a little surprised that Florida needed OT to beat Wake Forest. N. Carolina continues to disappoint, and nothing was decided in this series.

Final Tally: Tied 8-8

American/Pac 12 Wrap-Up

Wow, did Colorado do a number on S. Florida or what? The upset for me would be Utah beating Memphis. I'm sure bbgunn is happy that his Hawaii boys won another tough one, putting them back over .500. Overall, the Pac 12 dominated early, then did just enough late to take hold of this challenge.

Final Tally: Pac 12 wins 10-6

A-Ten/Big 12 Wrap-Up

As has been the case in most of the series' the A-Ten has been involved in, it was over early. The Big 12 rolled over 8 straight wins before the A-Ten got on the board, and even their wins were somewhat unexpected. Dayton beating Oklahoma St. was unexpected. The A-Ten continues to be the worst conference in this dynasty report.

Final Tally: Big 12 wins 12-4

SEC/American Wrap-Up

Akron beating Missouri has to be the surprise of this non-conference series, and how about Georgia staying hot. They might be the surprise team of the SEC right now. A pretty good series here, but some favorable matchups for the American Conference, along with an upset, proved to be the difference.

Final Tally: American wins 9-7

ACC/Big Ten Wrap-Up

Some of the top teams in the Big Ten dropped the ball in this series. Didn't expect Michigan St. to lose by 19 to Florida St., and how about Manhattan beating Purdue by 25. Definitely a series the Big Ten could have won, but as it stands..

Final Tally: ACC wins 9-7

Big 12/Big East Wrap-Up

Quite a few blowouts for the Big 12 in this one, as Texas Tech, Iowa St., Kansas, and Oklahoma St. all won by more than 20. The Georgetown/W. Virginia game probably brought back some memories for Big East fans, but overall the Big 12 took care of business.

3x 9-1, 12x 8-2, 4x 1-9, and 3x 1-10. It's pretty balanced- not a lot of highs or lows.

At this point, in an effort to get through conference play, I will just be posting scores, no wrap-ups or anything. Once we get into the conference tournaments as well as postseason, I will give a wrap-up for every game. My focus right now is to not get burnt out getting to that point, so for conference play, scores only. I appreciate all of you that are reading and following along.
