Coffee Makers. Any suggstions?
My coffee maker died yesterday.
Ironically, I bought it a couple years ago because I had a girlfriend who lived for coffee, and I had written to her asking if she might want to get together sometime. She wrote me back yesterday morning declining the invitation, then the coffee maker craps out. So I'm in the market for both a good woman and a good coffee maker. I know better than to think I will be able to find a good woman, but I stongly feel a good cup of coffee is attainable. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what to look for? I'm not looking to blow too much cash... |

Get one that uses a carafe to keep the coffee hot, not an eye. Other than that, I'm sure someone can give you some advice on an upper-level machine. I'd just go to Target and get a 50 dollar model.

I've been happier overall with my Cuisinart than any coffee maker I've bought to date.
YMMV, but there are worse ways to go IMO.

Your best bet is to find an older-fashioned model of a good woman that not only comes with a coffee maker, but makes it for you. Short of that, I also have a Cuisinart, and I like it.

I have this one. You can find it cheaper than that, though.

I was earlier going to start a thread on toaster ovens, but I think I found a winner at Amazon.

By the way, I hate coffee, but my wife bought a fairly cheap Mr Coffee and seems to be happy enough with it.

I just bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=284507
It makes a good cup, though if I had one complaint, it's that it's a bit tall (it still fits under my cabinets, so no big, just an observation). /tk

I always suggest the Bunn coffee maker. Put the grounds into a filter, and then pour in the cold water. The unit stores hot water that is immediately displaced into the pot. Makes a complete pot of coffee in a fraction of the time.
I'd say the perfect coffee pot would be a Bunn with a carafe to keep the coffee warm. Like this one. Last edited by Glengoyne : 01-15-2006 at 02:44 PM. |

I'll second this... if you are drinking coffee for the falvor and not necessarily the caffiene it cannot be beat. However, if you drink in massive amounts then this may not be the best option...
