Anyone think that his team got sabotaged? Some pretty bad luck there at the end. If the wolves knew somehow, or were really, really sure, they might have used points against his team to try to double knock him out.

That was my first thought too...especially with how far behind last place seemed to be before this leg.

Either the wolves got really lucky or they had some damn good inside knowledge...either way, that is some rotten luck.

Can Darth's teammate give us some insight into how they expected to do in this competition? Were they going to have a difficult time with it regardless of any tampering, or were the results shockingly bad?

If it is the latter, then the earlier comments on "silly wolf kills!" seem to be out of place. They were clearly committed to getting the seer rather than worrying about the bodyguard.

Also, if Darth's teammate is still in the race - time to look that person up - then hopefully Darth shared his scan results with that person.

We can't take them as 100% gospel - could be a wolf teammate, after all - but it would be something to consider going forward.

Ah, bhlloy - that makes sense, as that was the person I thought was the seer based on gut recollection of thread, not a careful re-read. It would make sense for him to question the seer reveal if he knew that his teammate was the seer.

Well, hopefully if/when we takes care of real-world stuff there is some info to share ...

But basically they include a vote Day 1 that could be construed as trying to help save Mauboy, and his reactions in thread to the whole Mauboy/Lathum/Jackal stuff.

I also found it interesting that Mauboy voted him - the wolves clearly knew he was going down at that point so it would have been wise of them to offer up a wolf and throw us off that trail, but I'm not sure they're thinking that many levels deep this game.

I figured this is what you were eluding to earlier when you were talking about voting patterns. My day 1 vote was for ntndeacon. I was not trying to turn the vote away from mauboy, but I didn't want to change my vote to a guy who proclaimed to be the seer.

When everyone was jumping on the Jackal bandwagon, I stayed off of it. I got the sense that he was not a wolf and I was correct. It would be easy for me to have hidden a vote on him.

Firstly fuckfuckfuck

Secondly it is a very good thing I saw this before my flight leaves in an hour or so. I'll keep this brief. Darth was keeping me in the loop, his night one scan was me and his second was GE. We both came up villager. I'm sure that will be met with a lot of skepticism but that's what was relayed to me. I'm sure I am the obvious target know and I understand that.

If this is the last post I can make, I would strongly recommend Danny for our vote tomorrow. His day 1 voting is very very suspicious and he clearly had a bs reason for going after CF who ended up dead the next night. But if I have to die to clear GE then I understand that's a smart play as well

So shoot... Let's hear some theories before I get on this plane

Fwiw I didn't know darth was the seer when I questioned mauboys reveal. If that is what got darth killed that really sucks. Maus reveal just smelled like shit - didn't find out about the real seer until the next morning

Well, I think it probably makes sense to hit the Day 1 votes and see what might be gleaned from there. Voting movement, moreso than end votes. I know someone had posted this either Friday or over the weekend, time to find it and quote it so we've got it handy.

I know I am good, so that leads me to believe that bhlloy is as well. It makes sense that he would scan his teammate. The wolves just got extremely lucky on this round.

I am leaning to a more experienced wolf team at this time. Danny is probably my number one suspect at this time, but that is based on a gut feeling more than anything concrete.

We were trying to save our effort points for later in the race. Don't suspect any wolf interference here. In hindsight we should have been trying to keep the seer alive as long ad possible not a smart move

.

Dangerous logic.

If bholly is a wolf the obvious play is to say his teammate scanned him, as that is what most of us would do. From there all he has to do is pick a villager to say as the second scan.

I would say it very unlikely you would both be wolves, but bholly is far from clear in my book.

I feel better about you now GE. Especially since I've played plenty of games with people that looked inactive and they weren't wolves. The main thing tho is that mauboy wanted to vote for you today.

Thanks for finding it, sorry, I don't hoops. I tend to give up keeping track if I try to keep track of everything, so I went with a minimal system that day. Some interesting streaks in there though, I think we can clump some non-suspects and suspects based on that, if we assume NTN is good.

On the surface I tend to believe bhlloy. I think GE makes some sense as a scan target, I'll try to find the posts that pinged me later. Not 100% sure, of course, but it passes the initial sniff test for me as a "reveal".

Back in the morning.

I'm not really going to defend myself here because I know how it looks and lynching me to clear the air is probably a good move. It's another no brainer as far as I can see

The one thing I will say is that if I was a wolf and I knew darth was the seer early on day 2 why didn't he die until night 3? There is no way in he'll I let him get another scan in. Of course you guys don't know I ever knew that darth was the seer - but something to think about

Yes, I'm hoping to have time tomorrow (50/50 with work) to go digging through the posts and put together a complete list with post numbers and comments.

The initial look at Autumn's list suggests several votes that don't look very good in terms of trying to keep heat off of Mauboy ... an effort that failed.

Mau also put in the early "first 2nd vote" on Chief, which is another check in the good book for me for my teammate. Not trying at this point to clear my teammate, any more than I'm trying to bury him, but data points keep suggesting to me that he is good.

For the sake of full disclosure, my team did not use any aggression towards DV's team. We knew Mau was the lynch, so he used a total of 18 energy points today and we were hoping that was enough. We also had solid skills for the events.

Bah. Talk about going from high (nabbing another wolf, finishing in 2nd place) to low (seer biting it). At first I was inclined to think 'why in the world would Darth have told his teammate he was seer like Lathum told Jackal he was BG'...then I realized he scanned his partner N1 and told him D2 after making sure he was ok. That explanation makes sense to me. The only wrinkle could be if bhlloy is the cunning, as DV seemed to be an unusual night kill target otherwise, but then you'd have to believe they were willing to make a random kill N2 to throw off suspicion that they knew who the seer was. Considering we got really unlucky to have the seer get double-eliminated and there was a good chance the seer would've been able to come back and tell us the scans, aside from the statistical improbability that the seer and cunning would be teammates (that would be ludicrously bad luck), and I'm just going to go along with bhlloy telling the truth barring other analysis that would make me think otherwise.

Hopefully someone with more time can put together the D1 voting at various points and then I'll take a closer look, since we had a wolf on the line I imagine we have a good starting point for some candidates for today.

I'll be out until about 7:30 eastern today. I was out of work all last week sick, so I expect it will be a busy day and I won't be able to check in much. I think I make a decent candidate for votes based on Mau's actions and now DV biting it, so I'll be sure to check in and be active as a I can after I get home.

Before I go though, I want to encourage people to look at day 1 votes, especially the first 4 voters on Mauboy. We now know that MartinD a fellow wolf put a 3rd vote on Mau. I can't see anymore wolves putting one of the early votes on him. I would lean towards heavily trusting Mau voters 1, 2 and 4.

Okay, I'm going to admit htat going back and checking the posts that made me suspicious of Golden Eagle has only made me now think that he's not a wolf. I remembered that he was on my gut suspect list, but didn't remember precisely why. Looking back it's for reasons that now seem reversed - at the time he seemed to be okay with us voting Mauboy after his reveal, and later seemed to be the one trying to get something other than Jackal going. At the time that looked to me like a wolf seeing if he might subtly start a run on the seer, and a wolf seeing if he he could get heat off of Jackal.

Of course as it ends up Mauboy was the wolf and Jackal was not, so my former suspicions are now reversed into trust. It doesn't say anything one way or the other about bhlloy, except that I can understand why Darth would scan GE - on day 2 he was not eager to get on the Jackal train, and if Darth was assuming Jackal was bad, that might seem suspect. A pretty good scan I think.

As someone said, Bhlloy could easily pick a real villager to post as a fake scan just to buy credibility, so it doesn't say much about his claim other than that it holds up to scrutiny, unlike Mauboy's. Looking back through Darth's posts I can also see why the wolves might have suspected him as seer. They either got lucky with the race results or sabotaged. If no one comes out as having used aggression against their team it means either they just got unlucky, or we've got a wolf-wolf team out there.

With a cunning in the game the scan pretty much doesn't matter anyway. Killing GE won't tell us anything about its validity, killing Bhlloy will possibly clear GE. But unless we done one or the either we can't really go by anything he said.

I think our Day 1 voting records are going to be much more useful. There's several strong runs on Mauboy that should partially clear some people, and several runs away from him that might give us suspects.

bhlloy, putting a second vote on Mauboy on day 1 seems odd, now that I realize he's your teammate. What was your reasoning for that?
