Wow that was bad. Only one hit was Sotelo, who was a classic didn’t go to the combine grower. The others were ones I hoped to stick, like Collier, Shumway, and Blakely. That is not a good draft. And Leibowitz can’t be anything other than a sub. He’s 2/24 in run blocking, but 9/60 pass, and 90 str, 52/69 endurance. So not good in stats that I care about.

Here, let me show you how bad I was this draft.

At 1.24 I could have taken, at the same position,

51/65 WR Kus

At 2.24 I could have grabbed OT Stephenson, at 39/59 with better stats. Pr PG Bennett Holmes was still on the board, a 43/69 OG

Wanted a good LB? How about Dominic Davidson at 46/69.

You get the point I’m sure. Sucky sucky sucky draft. Ah well, happens sometimes.

But forget all of that, because I have the best news of all time. One of my 7th rounders, from last year, just boomed all over Christmas:

CB Caiden Horner, now 58/70, BOOM! BOOM!

And I feel twice as good about Horner just blowing up than ai do about my sucky draft class. Crazy, huh? It’ll drop Cook to a very expensive nickel, but that’s fine. I think he’ll be fine there, my nickels tend to.

We open with a loss, then two wins before we head to a difficult matchup in Pittsburgh and leave barely losing to go to 2-2 to open the season. We then lose again to push us to 2-3. And that’s a bit of a rallying cry and we begin to win again. We edge the powerful Browns on the road 33-31 to start us off. Then we edge the Broncos 24-23. And then a 19-7 win against the Raiders and we finish 5-3 at the half. With virtually no injures either, which is nice. The next week we barely beat the Bengals, another 6 win team, 27-24, and we begin to pick up injuries. We then lose to the Chiefs just barreling down, and both of my Safeties are injured for the rest of the regular season. I have to massage my roster. We’ll start Cook at SS. We then smash the Bears 40-14 to bring us back from these close games. We win 13-9 against a surprisingly chippy Miami squad, and DT Newhart is out and Sterne is heading back in to close the final quarter as we enter 8-4. We lose to the Lions to open up the final stretch. A rough loss to the Broncos follows. We follow with a win vs the Pack and then we win 16-13 and finish 10-6.

At 10-6, we beat the 9-7 Chiefs to win the division.

QB Lofton is questionable with a strained hammy,, but he’ll clearly play. In Lofton we trust.

Washington wins 30-24

Lofton is banged up early, and backup QB Autenrieth is MOM with 21 of 31, 270 and 3:1, hitting Hoblert for 131 and 1 scores, and TE Peters for the other two TDs. Coffeey adds a rush TD. Pick by SS Lazuka, returned 91 yards for a score. 2.5 sacks by Mad Mau.

Week 3 – Conference Championship

We host the Steelers.

The only way a #3 seed hosts is if the first two seeds were dropped on the road, which is very unusual,. And that happened. Because both us and the Steelers were 10-6 in the season, and we are hosting, we are favored by 2, but the Steelers beat us 27-34 week 4.

So it’s anyone’s game really. This is my first Championship appearance with the Chargers. Can we get to the big game? I move in QB Autenrieth instead of Lofton due to his injury. I want to give my backup a full week of practice.

Derek’s 1399 yards was 2nd most in yards, but his 5 scores was very, very low, and I was surprised he made All Pro. But I’ll take it. Need to get that ypc up. You can play rotisserie with the RB spot as long as you dedicate to one feature back and rock a good line. A better line would have gotten him to 1600 or 1700 easy. But we’re still a solid line with three feature players.

Peter’s 1168 is, I think, the most receiving yards I’ve ever gotten for a TE ever. I’m nto sure, I’ve have to check my best ever like Ed Gardener or . Hold on, let me do a quick search here on the forums.

Ed was in my FOF2k1 dynasty, where it was harder to get your TEs involved in the catching game. Never got more than a mid 800s. Finished with 7 All Pros. Never ever had a 1000 yard season , let alone this good. Here...let me show you how good Peters was.

Toth led our team in sacks, and was 2nd in the league. The DPlay of Year had 21.5. Mau’s 13 was also very respectable, and both did some serious damage in bringing down the QB hard and fast. While subbing, DE Eiguren had a fantastic year with 8.5 sacks. There were a few packages I ran him out there. He got 8.5 sacks in 196 pass plays vs Mad Maus 13 in 622. Serious action.

Staff Draft – I have to hire a new OC when my old one was selected as a HC. My new guy runs more of an attacking passing game.

Anyone I want to tag? Surprisingly, with Big Toth and Mad Mau both under long term deals, nope.

All three of my DEs rock. And both Big Toth and Mad Mau came from the same draft, in the 1st and 3rd rounds. We got mad value for both and a total refit of my line. You can also see 6th rounder Eiguren in there as well. I’m surprised that in this game, DEs have been solid later.

Anyways, I have 40 people under contract, and of the others, just TE McCaskill, LB Thaphituck, LB Berns, and FS Irving Maloney are UFAs . I expect to move into FS Sotelo next year, so Maloney, at 34, won’t be my guy anymore.

Rhodes? 14th best. Tamm dropped heavily in ability to 33/33 and was just cut by the Chiefs. You are going to love, love, love this....

I got a lot of talent in their last year I need to make decisions on: QB Lofton, TE Peters, P Lynn, C Tate, RT Bailey, RG Conley, LB Hanson, WR Holbert, DE Eiguren, DT Time Stone, CB Dave Vaughn. All of them were good, solid players. All of have question marks. Underplaying their talent level (Tate), expensive (Lynn, Peters), aging, (Holbert) or backups that want serious cash to stay (Eiguren, Conley, Vaughn)

Now I’ma start with CB Cook, not on this list. As a pricey nickel last year, and then giving him starts at S when we had too many injuries, he had.... 0 picks and a mighty 4 pasdef. Time to cut bait. He’s clearly dropped in quality to 50/50 and in stats. I cut Louis Cook.

That; saves me 14 mill in cap space this year. Now, let’s make an offer to extend...

TE Peters. This is going to have a major sticker shock, but I think for the first time he’s arguably worth it, as opposed to others like TE Perry or Lluellyn who never really played up to their talent level.

Here’s the deal:

5 years, 80 mill. I make it flatish

Cap hits each year – 14.5, 14.2, 14.5, 14.6, 23.7

That will keep him in line. His cap hit was 6.5 mill before I jumped to 14.5. So I still have 35 mill in cap room after that.

Next...

Do I want to pay 31.2 mill to a Punter for 4 years? Lynn, man, sorry. I’m not there.

I extend Lofton by a year. 80 mill, 2 years. Guy is getting paid.

To extend Holbert I’d need to go from 7 mill this year to 45 mill over 3 years, and jump to 15 mill this year. Lots fo cash for a 10th year vet at WR.

Because he didn’t get a lot fo play, Conley is angry. So I trade him. I ship him to Green Bay for their 4th next year and 6th two years later.

DT Stone – 42 mill, 4 yeas
DE Eiguren, 2 years, 9 mill

Tate wants an epic amount of cash. Like 100 mill over 5 years epic. Now if he was playing at a All Pro level of play, sure, I’d consider it. But now? In three years a my starter he has just 69 KRB, 7 pancakes and 14 sacks allowed. He’s never sniffed the panties of an All Pro. Now, his block % has increased each year, from 18 to 32 to to 34.. But his sacks increased last year to 7. He is the 3rd highest rated current O Line in the league. Why is he not playing more like Sandmeyer? Or many other Cs?

So, I’ma hold off. I can’t commit my future cap that hard to a guy who can’t produce on the field. If he does this year, I can tag him. If not, I can tag P Lynn.

Should I trade Eiguren? Or just sign him for another year. He’s good. I can either get the 2.6 this year from the Jags and trade them my 3.32 to upgrade, or I can get a future 2nd. He’s young, cheap, and on the rise. I trade Eiguren to the Jags for their 2nd rounder next year.

I extend DT Stone.

I’ll hold off on the others until I’m sure.

I take a gander at the draft. This draft appears to be CB and FS heavy in talent, but very, very weak most other places. I just scout out random players that might be there, just so I won’t be forced to take a 25/55 CB or something at 1.32 but a player of value.

There’s a solid, aging 55/55 QB out there who is great. I make him an offer for 5 mill to come in and be my backup and QB mentor. I can’t relay on my junky backup guy to get me that win normally, I need to have the Roberts like I did with Tamm. I lost multiple Super Bowls (potentially) with injuries in the post-season to players like Arledge. I don’t want to get to the 2nd weekend and not have any options if Lofton goes down again, and this guy, Mitchell McGee, is good at 17th years in the league. He’s also a mentor if I find a good QB to groom.

I make on offer for 6.8 mill, 2 yeas to TE Robert Long. If he signs, I’ll move my aging backup TE in his last year, who wants way too much money to stay.

I think Zellers is the better returner. So if I just one one key returneer, it’s like Zellers. Now, in other regards, who is better?

Swinford is 46/47 in INT vs Zellers 12/16; Swinford is 16/25 in run D vs Zellers 38/68, Swinford and Ze;ers are about the same in Man 2 Man, Zomen, and Zellers is 42/50 in Bump N Run vs Swinfords 28/30. Zellers is also 32 punish vs Swinford’s 54. So I like Swinford;’s higher INT, hitting, to Zellers better run D and B N R. That’s not unimportant for a roster spot commitment.

Week 8 – LB Thaphituck signs with Miami for 11 mill and 3 years

Week 9 – TE Long joins us. LB Berns heads to SF for 6.5 mill, 2 years

Hello Draft!!!

The 2040 NFL Amateur Draft

Phily starts us off today by grabbing WR Walter Lind, from Texas.

The 1st round drips by, and we are hit at 1.32...

Where is there talent?

I have a solid looking OT who came back overrated. A lesser looking CB who came back very underrated, a stud C who is overrated,

Now, to inform this decision:

Combines:

OT Anderson – red dash, blue sole and strength
CB Flynn – blue dash, strength, agility and pspec drills
C Armstrong – red dash, red str, blue sole, agi, and even bjump

So, a few things:

1). None of these players are positions of need. I have three solid OTs on my roster, and two starters beyond this year. I have two OGs on my roster of solid quality. I have a stud (supposedly) at C. So I don’t need Anderson or Armstrong. I as was just scouting to find quality here.
2). Meanwhile, with the boom of CB talent last year, I don’t need to invest a 1st here on Flynn either.
3). Now, Pigg is not getting younger. He’s 31 year’s old. So I could feasibly grab Flynn, start him at nickel this year, and then if Pigg drops and Flynn rises, flip them next.
4). I could also move C Tate from OC to OG, drop him to the low 70s likely, probably extend him for a lot less cash, and then run Armstrong in the middle.
5). I have not committed to any of my RTs beyond next year, and none have any major cash invested in them, so I could draft Anderson, and then move him to start when he’s ready with no pressure.

So, what do I do?

First, I feel like removing Anderson from the equation, given his lower bars and overrated result. Underrated? Better bars? Sure. But too much of a risk as is. Anderson nope...

Given his huge bars, Armstrong’s overrated is not the biggest deal in the world too me. Very overrated? Maybe. But if he winds up in the 70s, then I’ll be fine. And that would likely be overrated from where he currently is right now. (My best guess is that he’s in the 80s pot right now)

But Flynn has a plan for coming onto my roster and not sucking. If he’s great, and CB Horner wants too much to reup, I have flexibility there too, and that’s why I was scouting out CBs for here at 1.32, in case talent met need met this spot...

So I’ll take Flynn and hope this wasn;t a mistake.

Anderson goes the next pick at 2.1 Armstrong to the Jets at 2.4. At the back of the 2nd I have a great options. No middle LB has gone, yet, and there’s one I like here, Alec Stowers. He may be good enough to be my SLB moving forward, as Cook has not flourished in that role. BAP again Is a nice opportunity when DE Johnnie Daugherty is still on the board at the 3.32 spot. He is the top player, by far, on the board by adjusted rank, and I like his bars too. I also like OT Dole and CB Tucker Morton here as well, but Daugherty is clearly the talent. So I grab him, and then Dole at the 4.6 and CB Morton at the 4.32 spot. Morton may be a shower who drops, but has good bars right now. And Morton is also insurance against a Flynn bust.

At 5 6 and 7 I reach to take players well about their grade. Both WR Roberson, DE Harada and RB Kramer were uncombined people that had good bars and intervewed. Actually, forgot about Harada when I drafted DE Daugherty was someone I was targeting laters. Ah wells, it happens.

That is exactly how you keep your momentum when you draft in the back of each round. Just BAP the draft. I had no starter needs in any position, so really just took the best players at each spot, barring something like a FB at 1.32. I didn’t need another LB at 2.32. I had four potential starters for three spots. I don’t have a 3-4 anymore. Do I regret it? No! I forgot I was targeted Harada later and took Daugherty, the best player on the board at any-non-kicker, and do I regret either one right now? Nope. I already have two starting CBS. Do I regret Flynn or Morton? You get the idea.

Now I would not be surprised if a few of these don’t turn out perfectly well post-camp, there could be some showers not growers who will diminish, but I like what I did here. Especially if Roberson grows and the others hold their collective serve.

We get an offer for a 4th rounder by Phily for QB Autenrieth. I swap it to two years down the road and they accept.

Season

We start 1-0 and then go 3-0 before repeating the exact same pattern to finish 6-2 at the half. We have wins against major players, like 6-2 Broncos. 5-3 Falcons, 5-3 Ravens, 5-4 Colts and that’s a good start. We have a real offensive coordinator with the spread, and we are airing the crap out of the ball. Here is Lofton at the halfway mark:

196 of 279, for 2296, 25:5, 117.3 rating. I have three players with at least 500 yards receiving in Peters, Holbert, and Hobson. We’re a little slower on the defensive side of the ball, save for Caiden Horner and his 4 picks. We win twice more with a 59-0 annihilation against Tampa before we fall beneath the Kansas City onslaught. MOM was LB DeAndre Jacobs. We lose then to 23-20 to Buffalo to finish 8-4 heading into the final quarter of the season. We defeat the Saints, and then travel to KC to take on the 9-4 Chiefs. We lose 28-25...but...Lofton set a record you’ll see in a moment (for this dynasty, not for the NFL in general). We win, and then lose, and finish 10-6.

But...no playoffs...we finished FOURTH in the AFC West 

Ah well. We lost our chance to repeat as champs.

As you can see, with 470 points, we had the league’s highest scoring offense. At 292, we allowed the 2nd fewest points in the league after Cincinnati’s 289. So we had a good year in terms of both points scored and allowed. And yet....no playoffs!

A few goods and bads here. II was hoping Peters at least would duplicate his 1000+ season from last year, and was slowed late with a few lesser games. But Hobson is here getting a solid year too. Coffey? Man. If he had been better at YPC? He could easily have had 2000 yards from scrimmage. Everyone looks good. Oh, and we had just 7 players with 1000 or more yards catching this season.

WOW Horner! He led the league in Picks, and in fact had 8 through 13 games and I was wondering if he get to 10, but nope, 8 it is. Dude picked the ball. There was one game (the 59-0) where the dude had 3 picks and 2 returned for scores which was nicer than nice. Flynn was fine in his rookie outing as well. I found Sotelo...disturbing. ZERO passes defensed? For a starting FS? How is that...feasible?

Team Awards:

Off. Player of the Year: QB Lofton – Nicely done! Ribbed for their pleasure.

Def. Player of the Year: CB Horner. Duh. Led my team in two stats and led the league in picks? Duh. He even had 3 sacks!

Sp. Teams. Player of the Year: P Lynn. Still a hoss, still leading in a lot of stuff out there.

Rookie of the Year: CB Flynn. He started, was 2nd in picks, had one returned for a score, and looked pretty sexy out there, right?

Heart Award: CB Swinford. Not only did Swinford do well running, but as a gunner, led my team with 17 special teams tackles and 2 FFs, 1 Fum Rec. Man. Dude does everything on special teams.

Okay, with Flemming out of the league, I’m feeling a little nostalgic. Let’s look at Hall of Fame players from this dynasty:

It’s still too early for my KC players who retired to start making the HOF. We all know Flemming will be in. I would expect WLB DeAndre Jacobs as well, with his 96 sacks, 4 All Pros, and continuing to play. 5 Rings. I would have thought Tamm was going to make it, but he suffered a mid-career collapse to his skills as a QB. With a couple more good high quality seasons, or three or four not-good ones, OT Axel Kelley would have the chops. Sandy? Back to being a FA after another tenure in Settle was lost. His numbers dropped in the last three years with injuries. But with longevity, I could see it (Centers need a lot more KRB, so the 400ish threshold for OTs and OGs for KRBs is more for Cs). Will Cleveland have DT Damien Alcott make it? KC’s De Nicky Cobb? DT Lenny Sterne? You get the idea, I’m sure.

On my current team, Big Toth and Mad Mau have the ability, but not the ongoing stats yet. Toth needs to have one or two big seasons to get there, he’s 54.5 in 5 seasons. Mad Mau is 53 in the same. CB Horner already has 12 picks in 3 years.

So this is my dynasty, and I can do it. I cheat. I decide to put my dynasty on autopilot for a few years. Move everything it having my staff draft, my staff sign, my staff run everything. Total AI autopilot.

We go 9-7, miss the playoffs, and then, the new Hall of Fame includes DT Damien Alcott, so he made it in. DeAndre Jacobs retires. Then we go 8-8. And no one is added to the HOF from my zone of control. Then 5-11. Then 8-8 and a win in our AFC West and loss. Flemming makes it. Then 5-11 and Jacobs makes it.

So no to Cobb and Sterne and many others of quality. Just Jacobs and Alcott, Flemming from the KC years. So sad. So sad.

Only one hit was Sotelo, who was a classic didn’t go to the combine grower. The others were ones I hoped to stick, like Collier, Shumway, and Blakely. That is not a good draft. And Leibowitz can’t be anything other than a sub. He’s 2/24 in run blocking, but 9/60 pass, and 90 str, 52/69 endurance. So not good in stats that I care about. Here, let me show you how bad I was this draft. At 1.24 I could have taken, at the same position, 51/65 WR Kus At 2.24 I could have grabbed OT Stephenson, at 39/59 with better stats. Pr PG Bennett Holmes was still on the board, a 43/69 OG Wanted a good LB? How about Dominic Davidson at 46/69. You get the point I’m sure. Sucky sucky sucky draft. Ah well, happens sometimes. But forget all of that, because I have the best news of all time. One of my 7th rounders, from last year, just boomed all over Christmas: CB Caiden Horner, now 58/70, BOOM! BOOM! Abe Sargent Hall Of Famer Join Date: Dec 2001 Location: Catonsville, MD	We open with a loss, then two wins before we head to a difficult matchup in Pittsburgh and leave barely losing to go to 2-2 to open the season. We then lose again to push us to 2-3. And that’s a bit of a rallying cry and we begin to win again. We edge the powerful Browns on the road 33-31 to start us off. Then we edge the Broncos 24-23. And then a 19-7 win against the Raiders and we finish 5-3 at the half. With virtually no injures either, which is nice. The next week we barely beat the Bengals, another 6 win team, 27-24, and we begin to pick up injuries. We then lose to the Chiefs just barreling down, and both of my Safeties are injured for the rest of the regular season. I have to massage my roster. We’ll start Cook at SS. We then smash the Bears 40-14 to bring us back from these close games. We win 13-9 against a surprisingly chippy Miami squad, and DT Newhart is out and Sterne is heading back in to close the final quarter as we enter 8-4. We lose to the Lions to open up the final stretch. A rough loss to the Broncos follows. We follow with a win vs the Pack and then we win 16-13 and finish 10-6. Anyone I want to tag? Surprisingly, with Big Toth and Mad Mau both under long term deals, nope. All three of my DEs rock. And both Big Toth and Mad Mau came from the same draft, in the 1st and 3rd rounds. We got mad value for both and a total refit of my line. You can also see 6th rounder Eiguren in there as well. All of them were good, solid players. All of have question marks. Underplaying their talent level (Tate), expensive (Lynn, Peters), aging, (Holbert) or backups that want serious cash to stay (Eiguren, Conley, Vaughn) Now I’ma start with CB Cook, not on this list. As a pricey nickel last year, and then giving him starts at S when we had too many injuries, he had.... 0 picks and a mighty 4 pasdef. Time to cut bait. He’s clearly dropped in quality to 50/50 and in stats. I cut Louis Cook. That; saves me 14 mill in cap space this year. Now, let’s make an offer to extend... TE Peters. This is going to have a major sticker shock, but I think for the first time he’s arguably worth it, as opposed to others like TE Perry or Lluellyn who never really played up to their talent level. Here’s the deal: 5 years, 80 mill. I make it flatish Cap hits each year – 14.5, 14.2, 14.5, 14.6, 23.7 That will keep him in line. His cap hit was 6.5 mill before I jumped to 14.5. So I still have 35 mill in cap room after that. Next... Do I want to pay 31.2 mill to a Punter for 4 years? Lynn, man, sorry. I’m not there. I extend Lofton by a year. 80 mill, 2 years. Guy is getting paid. To extend Holbert I’d need to go from 7 mill this year to 45 mill over 3 years, and jump to 15 mill this year. Lots fo cash for a 10th year vet at WR. Because he didn’t get a lot fo play, Conley is angry. So I trade him. I ship him to Green Bay for their 4th next year and 6th two years later. DT Stone – 42 mill, 4 yeas DE Eiguren, 2 years, 9 mill Tate wants an epic amount of cash. Like 100 mill over 5 years epic. Now if he was playing at a All Pro level of play, sure, I’d consider it. But now? In three years a my starter he has just 69 KRB, 7 pancakes and 14 sacks allowed. He’s never sniffed the panties of an All Pro. Now, his block % has increased each year, from 18 to 32 to to 34.. But his sacks increased last year to 7. He is the 3rd highest rated current O Line in the league. Why is he not playing more like Sandmeyer? Or many other Cs? So, I’ma hold off. I can’t commit my future cap that hard to a guy who can’t produce on the field. If he does this year, I can tag him. If not, I can tag P Lynn. Should I trade Eiguren? Or just sign him for another year. He’s good. I can either get the 2.6 this year from the Jags and trade them my 3.32 to upgrade, or I can get a future 2nd. He’s young, cheap, and on the rise. Abe Sargent Hall Of Famer Join Date: Dec 2001 Location: Catonsville, MD	After I resigned and traded folks, here’s my current need list: RB back, TEx2 back, Maybe WR back, OG Back, maybe future RT starter, backup DE, 2xDT backups, 3xbackup LBs, 3backup rotational CBs and S. So nothing overly pricey. FS Burt Sellers, perhaps another return specialist 2 years, 7.5 mill, RT Glen Coffee, I take a gander at the draft. This draft appears to be CB and FS heavy in talent, but very, very weak most other places. I just scout out random players that might be there, just so I won’t be forced to take a 25/55 CB or something at 1.32 but a player of value. There’s a solid, aging 55/55 QB out there who is great. I make him an offer for 5 mill to come in and be my backup and QB mentor. I can’t relay on my junky backup guy to get me that win normally, I need to have the Roberts like I did with Tamm. I lost multiple Super Bowls (potentially) with injuries in the post-season to players like Arledge. I don’t want to get to the 2nd weekend and not have any options if Lofton goes down again, and this guy, Mitchell McGee, is good at 17th years in the league. He’s also a mentor if I find a good QB to groom. I make on offer for 6.8 mill, 2 yeas to TE Robert Long. If he signs, I’ll move my aging backup TE in his last year, who wants way too much money to stay. Alright, let’s rock these four: Week 2 - We sign QB Mitchell McGee Week 7 – FS Zellers signs Compare my return skills to see about this potential upgrade: KR – Swinford is 41/41. Zellers is 76/88 PR – Swinford is 75/80. Zellers is 49/63 I think Zellers is the better returner. So if I just one one key returneer, it’s like Zellers. Now, in other regards, who is better? Swinford is 46/47 in INT vs Zellers 12/16; Swinford is 16/25 in run D vs Zellers 38/68, Swinford and Ze;ers are about the same in Man 2 Man, Zomen, and Zellers is 42/50 in Bump N Run vs Swinfords 28/30. Zellers is also 32 punish vs Swinford’s 54. So I like Swinford;’s higher INT, hitting, to Zellers better run D and B N R. That’s not unimportant for a roster spot commitment. Week 8 – LB Thaphituck signs with Miami for 11 mill and 3 years Week 9 – TE Long joins us. LB Berns heads to SF for 6.5 mill, 2 years Week 11 – Coffee signs with us We brought in: RT Coffee – 40/59 RT FS Zellers, 27/42 KR/PR QB McGee, 55/55 TE Long, 55/55 I cut TE Buning. Abe Sargent Hall Of Famer Join Date: Dec 2001 Location: Catonsville, MD	Hello Draft!!! The 2040 NFL Amateur Draft Phily starts us off today by grabbing WR Walter Lind, from Texas. The 1st round drips by, and we are hit at 1.32... Where is there talent? I have a solid looking OT who came back overrated. A lesser looking CB who came back very underrated, a stud C who is overrated, Now, to inform this decision: Combines: OT Anderson – red dash, blue sole and strength CB Flynn – blue dash, strength, agility and pspec drills C Armstrong – red dash, red str, blue sole, agi, and even bjump So, a few things: 1). None of these players are positions of need. I have three solid OTs on my roster, and two starters beyond this year. I have two OGs on my roster of solid quality. I have a stud (supposedly) at C. So I don’t need Anderson or Armstrong. I as was just scouting to find quality here. 2). Meanwhile, with the boom of CB talent last year, I don’t need to invest a 1st here on Flynn either. 3). Now, Pigg is not getting younger. He’s 31 year’s old. So I could feasibly grab Flynn, start him at nickel this year, and then if Pigg drops and Flynn rises, flip them next. 4). I could also move C Tate from OC to OG, drop him to the low 70s likely, probably extend him for a lot less cash, and then run Armstrong in the middle. 5). I have not committed to any of my RTs beyond next year, and none have any major cash invested in them, so I could draft Anderson, and then move him to start when he’s ready with no pressure. So, what do I do? First, I feel like removing Anderson from the equation, given his lower bars and overrated result. Underrated? Better bars? Sure. But too much of a risk as is. Anderson nope... Given his huge bars, Armstrong’s overrated is not the biggest deal in the world too me. Very overrated? Maybe. But if he winds up in the 70s, then I’ll be fine. And that would likely be overrated from where he currently is right now. (My best guess is that he’s in the 80s pot right now) But Flynn has a plan for coming onto my roster and not sucking. If he’s great, and CB Horner wants too much to reup, I have flexibility there too, and that’s why I was scouting out CBs for here at 1.32, in case talent met need met this spot... So I’ll take Flynn and hope this wasn;t a mistake. Anderson goes the next pick at 2.1 Armstrong to the Jets at 2.4. At the back of the 2nd I have a great options. No middle LB has gone, yet, and there’s one I like here, Alec Stowers. He may be good enough to be my SLB moving forward, as Cook has not flourished in that role. BAP again Is a nice opportunity when DE Johnnie Daugherty is still on the board at the 3.32 spot. He is the top player, by far, on the board by adjusted rank, and I like his bars too. I also like OT Dole and CB Tucker Morton here as well, but Daugherty is clearly the talent. So I grab him, and then Dole at the 4.6 and CB Morton at the 4.32 spot. Morton may be a shower who drops, but has good bars right now. And Morton is also insurance against a Flynn bust. At 5 6 and 7 I reach to take players well about their grade. Both WR Roberson, DE Harada and RB Kramer were uncombined people that had good bars and intervewed. Actually, forgot about Harada when I drafted DE Daugherty was someone I was targeting laters. Ah wells, it happens. Just BAP the draft. I had no starter needs in any position, so really just took the best players at each spot, barring something like a FB at 1.32. I didn’t need another LB at 2.32. I had four potential starters for three spots. I don’t have a 3-4 anymore. Do I regret it? No! I forgot I was targeted Harada later and took Daugherty, the best player on the board at any-non-kicker, and do I regret either one right now? Nope. I already have two starting CBS. Do I regret Flynn or Morton? You get the idea. Now I would not be surprised if a few of these don’t turn out perfectly well post-camp, there could be some showers not growers who will diminish, but I like what I did here. Especially if Roberson grows and the others hold their collective serve. We get an offer for a 4th rounder by Phily for QB Autenrieth. Abe Sargent Hall Of Famer Join Date: Dec 2001 Location: Catonsville, MD	Season We start 1-0 and then go 3-0 before repeating the exact same pattern to finish 6-2 at the half. We have wins against major players, like 6-2 Broncos. 5-3 Falcons, 5-3 Ravens, 5-4 Colts and that’s a good start. We have a real offensive coordinator with the spread, and we are airing the crap out of the ball. Here is Lofton at the halfway mark: 196 of 279, for 2296, 25:5, 117.3 rating. I have three players with at least 500 yards receiving in Peters, Holbert, and Hobson. We’re a little slower on the defensive side of the ball, save for Caiden Horner and his 4 picks. We win twice more with a 59-0 annihilation against Tampa before we fall beneath the Kansas City onslaught. MOM was LB DeAndre Jacobs. We lose then to 23-20 to Buffalo to finish 8-4 heading into the final quarter of the season. We defeat the Saints, and then travel to KC to take on the 9-4 Chiefs. We lose 28-25...but...Lofton set a record you’ll see in a moment (for this dynasty, not for the NFL in general). We win, and then lose, and finish 10-6. Let’s look at Hall of Fame players from this dynasty: There are four major types of Hall of Famers that you can get in FOFC. I am dividing these into those groups: Players you inherited when you took over a team that were already good: Cleveland - OT Joe Thomas Players you signed as Free Agents who made the HOF after being contributors to your team: NA Players you drafted but left and had their HOF career elsewhere, or who you signed late in their career and spend a year or two with you before retirement. NA Players you drafted and who spent the majority of the HOF career on your roster: (For this purpose, I do consider those I brought in as undrafted free agent rookies) Cleveland – DE Joey Horner, Undrafted FA Cleveland – QB Brandon Arledge, Undrafted FA Cleveland – DE Julio Stanton, 2.27 Cleveland – OT Shon Coleman, 3.13 Cleveland – RB Diego Lorey, 1.3 Cleveland – WR Dustin Wright, 1.32 Cleveland – SLB Karl Rincon, 1.31 It’s still too early for my KC players who retired to start making the HOF. We all know Flemming will be in. I would expect WLB DeAndre Jacobs as well, with his 96 sacks, 4 All Pros, and continuing to play. 5 Rings. I would have thought Tamm was going to make it, but he suffered a mid-career collapse to his skills as a QB. With a couple more good high quality seasons, or three or four not-good ones, OT Axel Kelley would have the chops. Sandy? Back to being a FA after another tenure in Settle was lost. His numbers dropped in the last three years with injuries. But with longevity, I could see it (Centers need a lot more KRB, so the 400ish threshold for OTs and OGs for KRBs is more for Cs). Will Cleveland have DT Damien Alcott make it? KC’s De Nicky Cobb? DT Lenny Sterne? You get the idea, I’m sure. On my current team, Big Toth and Mad Mau have the ability, but not the ongoing stats yet. Toth needs to have one or two big seasons to get there, he’s 54.5 in 5 seasons. Mad Mau is 53 in the same. CB Horner already has 12 picks in 3 years. So this is my dynasty, and I can do it. I cheat. I decide to put my dynasty on autopilot for a few years. Move everything it having my staff draft, my staff sign, my staff run everything. Total AI autopilot. We go 9-7, miss the playoffs, and then, the new Hall of Fame includes DT Damien Alcott, so he made it in. DeAndre Jacobs retires. Then we go 8-8. And no one is added to the HOF from my zone of control. Then 5-11. Then 8-8 and a win in our AFC West and loss. Flemming makes it. Then 5-11 and Jacobs makes it. So no to Cobb and Sterne and many others of quality. Just Jacobs and Alcott, Flemming from the KC years. So sad. Okay, who do I want to franchise? Tate? Lynn? Tate. 2041 NFL FA Despite his All Pro last year, Tate now wants a more reasonable cap hit. So, I sign him too: 5 years 100 mill, with a bloated year 5: Year 1 – 3 16.5 mill hit, year 4 18, and then 31 year 5. I sign RFAs C Jalen Mahoney, LB Fairbarin, QB Summers I sign SS Percy Lazuka to a 4 year 42 mill deal. We have a lot of talented UFas: 50/50 CB Dave Vaughn, who was supposed to be my nickel for a while is now up. WLB Lukas Hanson, very old, still is 83 in pass run tech, and 91 in prstrength, 86 in pass diag, and 70 pun hitter.
