ABC's Empire
It is a show(miniseries?) taking place during the Roman Empire. I've just started watching it and it is not bad. I like the casting of Brutus because they got the guy who played Paul in 24 and I hated Paul. This makes it easier to hate Brutus.

I was planning on watching, except SWMBO wasn't too keen, so we watched a movie. I had my computer TiVO it, but I forgot, and in my haste to fix my ipod, I restarted the computer, so there went that plan. I'll just rent the DVD. I'm waiting for the HBO version coming sometime in the fall.

It was a definite MEH for me. Julius Caesar, friend of the people, wanting to 'take away from the influential few and give to the people of Rome' (yes, the guy playing Caesar basically said that). The Senate being a bunch of self-interested fools? WTF? I was hoping for a less "Hollywood" portrayal of the situation.
I'm hoping with him dead they won't reference Caesar being 'for the people'.

Yep, you'd never know it from ABC. Though the middle and lower classes did love him, to say he pissed off the Senators because he was planning on giving the common people more power (by taking it from the Senators) is just absurd.
