Ironically, I started watching Saul first, based on the feedback about BB. I figured it was easier to just watch a show form the beginning than to dive into five seasons of a show just to prepare for the new show.

I love Saul, but I actually stopped watching this season after the first episode because I decided to finish up BB. Now I have to go back and catch up on Saul.

As someone who dove in with Saul, I was immensely depressed when Walt killed Mike in 05.07. He's such a great character. I don't mind that Mike was killed. I mind that he was killed with nine more episodes left where he could have been awesome.

But I can't argue with the results.

I was talking about Ozmandius (sp?), the third to last episode, with a friend today whom had watched BB years ago and couldn't quite remember which episode was what when stuff happened. So as I was reminding him, it all really hit me again how impactful some of those episodes in the last season were. Amazing TV. I can replay the whole Hank on the ground, Walt pleading with Jack in my head.

"You're the smartest guy I ever met...but you're too stupid to see...he made up his mind ten minutes ago."

It's hard to pick a favorite in a series like that, but I think Ozymandias is probably the best episode of the series.

I also always wanted what it would be like to watch BCS first, then BB. Kinda tough since BCS is still on, but it would be a fun experiment with someone who hasn't seen either. You were well on your way, Rum, then you ruined it

It would be tough for some of the BB characters who show up in BCS with very little explanation. Like Lydia last week. There was zero explanation for the non-BB fan on that one. Or why this "for sale" property was of any interest at all.

Or like the first shot of Gus in BCS... he was just a guy in a yellow shirt wandering in the background.

I guess it doesn't really inhibit your enjoyment, but it does make it a little more fun to have some recall on these characters or places.

Was it hard to keep up considering the series ended quite a while ago?

Completely disagree. If you haven't seen or followed the show, you are gonna be scratching your head wondering what the hell is going on...

With that said, i thought it was ok. I'm not a fan of Jessie. This movie is all Jessie. It's nice. It feels like Breaking Bad, and there are familiar faces, but it felt unnecessary to me. I've enjoyed Better Call Saul way more then this...

Here's Aaron Paul recapping the entire Breaking Bad series in 2 1/2 minutes, that'll refresh things

Aaron Paul Recaps Breaking Bad in 2 ½ Minutes - YouTube

Speaking of Aaron Paul, he rented out the old-timey theater in town for a Boise El Camino premiere earlier this week and drove around all day giving out tickets, giving tips on twitter to where he'd be. I half-assed tried to pay attention but failed miserably, there were far more committed people who got in, which I guess was the point. Still, it's very fun to be kind of the center of the Breaking Bad universe again for a bit - Aaron Paul grew up here and I think owns a condo downtown still.

Watched the movie yesterday. There are still scenes where no one else uses the camera in quite the same way. It was fun to revisit that world.

I enjoyed it. I kind of wish it was more of a backdoor pilot. I also wish they would do a Dexter crossover.
